    Very cool camera! My daughter uses one to record 'behind the scenes' when she does her photography sessions. I have no intention to get one, but I like you and like seeing you ride along the waterfront 😋

      Ah, that's so interesting! Does she share the footage with her clients? Or use it as a marketing took? 😉 Yes, the Waterfront is glorious!

    ❤ you can post in 360 for those like myself who have vr headsets

      Yes! I already have posted a couple videos in 360, using the X2, but that was a while ago. I think I'll start that up again now that more people have headsets.

    Another great and informative video...thanks for this!
    The X4 seems to be quite the update from the X3!
    You also mentioned that you have an insta360 One RS...as do I...and asked that we share our experiences with you, so here goes...
    Certainly the build and image quality and stabilization are excellent (I can't tell you how bumpy the GDMBR was...and I was blown away at just how stable the resulting images were!!!)...however I have a couple of issues with mine that I'm not sure is an common or an exception;
    - The touch screen doesn't seem to be nearly as responsive as I feel it should be and I'm often spending an extraordinary amount of time trying to manage settings. I "think" it's because of the screen saver film I added...but am hesitant to remove it...
    - The OEM mic adaptor crapped out on me mid-way through an extended tour I did earlier this year. Insta360 diagnosed the issue and sent me a me a new one (including paying for shipping), however of course that did nothing to resolve the issue of crappy to no audio for the second half of the ride. Again, not sure if it was a one-off, or if the adaptor just isn't up to the task of day to day real world use...and if the later, certainly needs to be more robust than it seems to be.
    So there ya go, that's my experience with the One RS.
    Of course, not asking for a resolution, just sharing my experience. All concerns have been shared with Insta360.
    Keep up the great work!
    Cheers!

      Thank you for sharing those real world, authentic examples, Reinhart. It never all be rainbows and butterflies.
      As I also have the One RS, without a protective film on the screen, while the screen is a bit small, it's quite responsive. Definitely not as responsive as the one on the X4 or on my mobile phone, but I never found it difficult to work with. I think the film does add some "resistance", but I can completely understand your hesitance to removing it.
      Regarding the mic adaptor, that's a total pity that happened mid way through your trip, but glad to hear that Insta360 stood behind their product and replaced it with a new one. Gear fails, especially when used hard, and you certainly put your gear through its paces on the GDMBR.

    Well done. I like my X4 very much, although finding out after I bought the camera I also had to buy a new phone and a new computer was unwelcome news. This is not a dealbreaker, but it would be nice to know up front.
    I look forward to X4 Videos from you. Keep up the good work.

      Yes! This is so important to know - that's why I added that info into the video - the devices need to be compatible and powerful enough to work with the high resolution footage.

      @LarryHopper Oh! And I thought you mentioned it because of what I had said in the video. 😂 Well, we thought of the same thing then. It's a very valid concern.

    Thus was a very good indepth review. A lot of good advice!!! Especially the device you use for editing! We are still using our "one rs" thanks to your review 3? Years ago. We also use the motorcycle mount with the invisible selfie stick. Two batteries + the fast charger. It has worked very well. We can attest that the One RS survived + 42 C and was still able to function. One question on the 4X does it have internal storage and a place for a micro SD card? We ran into a problem with a 512 gb micro card for the one rs...it would not record anymore footage after 256 gb even though half the card was empty (or half full to put it positively). At the end of the day we had to purchase two more 256 cards to film the rest of our tour.

      Thank you for watching and for sharing your 360 camera setup. I know you used it heavily to document your cross Canada tour.
      The X4 does not have any internal storage, but does take micro SD cards. I currently have a 256GB card in and it's the largest capacity one I've ever used. I clear the SD card daily while on tour, transferring all my footage at the end of the day.
      I'm not sure why a 512GB card would not work, unless there is a card capacity limit for the One RS (just searched and there is a limit, with cards over 1TB not being compatible, so this would not explain your issue at all). Have you submitted a support request with Insta360?

    • @joshandjamesvosperfromhere6887
      @joshandjamesvosperfromhere6887 5 днів тому

      @@WheelsonaBike good idea to submit a support request. I believe the one rs says that it can receive a 1TG card so to be safe I thought I would use a 512 GB card, but after approximately 256 GB of footage the "functionality" of the video camera could not record with that amount of storage on the card (that is how I interpreted it, not sure if that makes sense?).
      Also, we use lense covers too and I do not like the glare it causes, but I like the protection. Also somewhere in NWO it got really cold and condensation appeared between the lense cover and actual lense. Thankfully with the sun and heat the condensation dissipated.
      I really like the X4 and the review. Always good information here @WheelsonaBike! Cheers

    It would be great for catching people driving on their phone...if you lived in the UK where police can charge them

      Right! I have used my X2 often as a dash cam. 360 footage is hard to argue against.
