- This is a reaction video of Judas Priest performing a cover version of Joan Baez's "Diamonds & Rust" live in 1983. The song was originally released on Judas Priest's 1977 album "Sin After Sin". This live version really kicks. The guitars start out but only show a hint of the melody of the song. Bass and heavy drums enter the scene. The lead singer, Rob Halford, begins singing and there it is, Diamond & Rust. His vocals brings out the melody and his voice hits some fantastic highs. The song is taken apart piece by piece and put back together as a heavy metal anthem! Enjoy ...

This version is a lot like the studio version. Over the years, this has been one of their mainstays in concert, and from time to time they revamp it. So.... if you check out some other live versions you might be in for a surprise in how different it sounds.
2013 Judas Priest version is awesome too.. check it. Halford is a beast even at 64 years old.
You might enjoy another Priest performance of this song, many years later - it's pretty special, so here's a link to it
