Every single one of The Faceless drummers have been absolutely amazing.. but noone has made it look so natural, or has been as “intimate” with the tracks, as Lyle were. Damn.
This is the most incredible drum performance I have ever seen. Everything is spot on, and he is playing some of the most ridiculous parts ever written. Love it.
a lot of death metal drummers seem kind of interchangeable (not to discredit anyone, the genre sets one of the highest bars) - but this guy's writing / playing has a very personal stamp on it, you can't replace him and expect another album like planetary duality to happen.
Couldn't agree more, he breaks the fluidity of his playing really speaks, it's almost delicate while still being more than loud enough. You can tell he has a personal connection with the material which would be hard to find with just some other hired gun.
This is the first time I've ever seen their drummer though I've been listening to the band for ages. He looks like he's super drunk and / or possessed by a demon.
I was onstage with The Faceless 2 weeks ago. They were incredible, I got to meet Lyle as he walked off stage. Got my picture with him and spoke with him for a few minutes. Such a nice and humble guy! Long live THE FACELESS \m/
Keene's a great guitarist and all, but live, Lyle is just flawless. He's always spot on, and he makes it look so easy! Looking forward to seeing these guys again on Summer Slaughter this year! \m/
those vocals are just insanely good, such good technique, the guitars, the bass, and of course the drums, everything is so tight it's impressive, even more this being live
He's not possessed -__- He's playing some of the most demanding drum tracks out there and he's clearly tired and has to concentrate harder than most people ever have. There's no room for error and he's in the zone. Anyone who's ever done anything difficult for an extended period of time would understand that.
Lyle is the best drummer I have seen live with the band. Ive seen them just about every time they have come through DFW. Dude is good friends with a buddy of mine in San Antonio. Glad to see him killing it! Wish there were drummers like him in fort worth!
Crisp sound, seriously. I can hear everything clearly, and the drums don’t overpower everything Like nearly every drumming video does! That’s honestly amazing.
Thats fuckin hilarious! They are trying to hurt them by saying nonsense about them when in fact they are giving them exposure. Good, logical, christian thinking at its best.
Just to think that he came up with those drums fills for each of those two albums he played with the Faceless, makes him a phenomenal drummer. He might get picked on on his style of playing but, that's just plain BS and jealousy! Kyle is already a legend in the Death Metal Scene!!
Stupid thing I ever heard all gifts come from God not Satan dumb ass Satan needs God's go ahead before he has authority to do anything.Lol simple mind.
+Harvey Pickleston Great discussion guys, also to be noted as this was later in the tour. Earlier videos of this tour show Lyle more relaxed, playing this kind of music, really is hell on the body.
Cole Miller I don't buy that at all. This dude is channeling some spirit to play like this...he in a sort of altered state of consciousness and eyes are likely rolling back in his head. He closes his eyes because the rolled back eyes is disturbing to most.
Who cares about his posture? Just watch the video... I'm sure no one here does every task in life the way it "should" be... Anyways... badass song and this cam angle is the shit!
Justin Rios Oh look the moron thinks that criticism is hatred and is trying to say everyone else is shit at drumming. His back looks properly out of shape when he does faster double pedal parts and that's a fact. It doesn't make him bad, it just means he has bad posture. Don't be a little child.
watch George Kolias' dvd on blast beats. He says that it's common and natural to lean forward during faster tempo double bass. As long as you're relaxed and not straining any muscles (look how relaxed Lyle's shoulders, face, etc are) I don't think a slight hunch forward to lean more on the pedals is going to cause back problems.
Leaning forward helps him not strain as it shifts his weight more over the pedal allowing him to maintain control and speed. It's the only way to be able to do the amazing stuff he does as precisely and consistently as he does. Thanks
just because kollias says that is natural doesnt make it right, i mean , yeah hes fast as fuck , and can lean to whatever side he wants while he plays, but his back is gonna hurt years later, yeah he plays great and i respect both drummers, but damn, one thing that always you gotta do is sitting with the correct posture on your drums , or anywhere , of course for anyone "sitting right" its subjective but for a physical terapist well thats a different story, not a hate comment bro just trying to make a point, cheers
So many drummers that play crazy fast and accurately often look like lifeless robots crunching numbers, but you can see this dude feels it! I really dig that.
lol. I guess most people watching don't know how much concentration you must have to play these songs this perfectly. I'm pretty sure while playing this he didn't even know the outside world existed...And by the looks him, his posture, and the sweat literally dripping down his face, I'd take it that this wasn't the first song on the set list by a long shot. Which explains his drastic change in posture to accommodate the energy that he doesn't have left.
The commercial for madden was so awesome it made me forget what video I was getting ready to watch. Then I got this... well, let's just say, you can have your cake and eat it too.
I hate how this is one of the best live recorded performances I've ever seen. The sound quality is fucking amazing and all people are arguing about is whether or not he's possessed. Who cares if he is, check out that audio lol
@Happyskateboarding It looks like a halfway push/pull technique. Buddy Rich mastered (created? not sure) push/pull in traditional grip. You use finger control and arm movement to push the fulcrum down on the first stroke and then pull it back for the second. It's a good way to conserve your forearm muscles so you don't get tired and lag but it's tough to master.
How about this! DAMN, this song kicks ass! I hope that The Faceless keeps making music like this for years to come! No hate, and you look like a good person. :)
Love how The Faceless are one of the most technical bands out there at the moment and they play a tighter show than any band that plays music no where near as technical as this.

Lyle Cooper i really miss this man in the faceless....
Steak Meister Michael is super hard to work with and he’s an asshole and a drug addict. That’s why everyone besides him has left the band
@@Corekidbeenybunny Yeah I miss The Faceless... Sad how it went with Keene. I've heard he has stolen fans money from merch and mixing/lessons...

awesome how he closes his eyes and just goes to town, thats some real shit
Kollias does the same thing. It's awesome when they are in that moment
Lyle Cooper's work in The Faceles presents me with the most perfect marriage of technicality and soul Ive ever found in my musical journey.

This guy did not write the drum parts tho.. :)
Its all a Michael Keene show!
@@matsedv Keene isn't a drummer or bassist, lmao.....he can't come up with their parts to match his on guitar.
He made that look super easy, I'm no drummer but that guy must eat blasts for breakfast
i'd say so look the way his arm is bent blasting super weird. could probably blast for an hour straight time perfect
2021 and I'm still watching this video 💙
2019 i'm still watching this video
This is the first time I've ever seen their drummer though I've been listening to the band for ages. He looks like he's super drunk and / or possessed by a demon.
I gotta wonder. If nobody ever reads "it's _____ and this video is still relevant" does a person ever say it?
Today I'm still watching this video dude! I would love to see them live
2020 checking in. Lyle is a human metronome.
Right!? 2020 and he’s still on the top of my rewatch lists
That part from 2:48 and on is one of the hardest drum compositions I’ve ever heard.
how he can drum this well and look half asleep is beyond me.... what a show of talent!

how could anyone dislike this lyle cooper has to be the best drummer alive period
This has to be the most chill drummer I have ever seen.
