Hey, stupid question probably, I do listen to the bass tracks on a lot of death metal songs. Is it easy like this song u say or do others incorporate technicality beyond simplicity? I'm asking because bass players are shredders too...
@Sahar Ghaba I like your style, seeing a comment like this under a death metal video is really refreshing and uplifting - I hope you're doing well and spreading the same joy as you did a year ago!
@@Omnivolv dude you keep posting the same shit. Why are you even here if you don't like their music? Or are you just bitching because you knew the guy personally? Get over it.
This was the peak of The Faceless. What a talented line up. One of the greatest albums in the genre. And Keene, it’s okay The Faceless didn’t reach what I know you know what potential you guys had. Substance abuse and any action that comes from it is something many people have to live with. Hold your head up for creating this banger of an album
listen to the zenith passage if you haven't already. this vocalist and the bassist from planetary duality joined recently. they're basically the faceless without the heroin
Its better than being obsessed with him like everyone is about dime even though hes dead and gone, i doubt hes underrated seriously i bet hes respected. Dimes dead and gone alright, ALRIGHT!? shut up about dime! Also thats the other thing i get the feeling the most important thing to him even though i dont know him is his music, like any real musician right? This band has this really chill vibe, its not like theyre milking their audience, they have this perfect balance of intensity and chill, but the intensity is from the concepts in their song, not the music?? Also that bass is sick af. I love when a band doesnt shove its chode down your throat, it makes you do it to yourself...?
@@igunzOsick Dime is the greatest, that's why. Not to mention by all accounts, the coolest and nicest dude u ever met. So, yes he is beloved. He influenced everyone
Underrated, no Man! The faceless set the standard in this genre, they were on they way up, the had everything to be one of the greatest, but keene struggled a lot with drug addiction and because of that they cancelled a lot of.tours, and there where videos of Michel unable to play his parts because he was wasted, then instead of getting love from their fans they started to receive hate, even their Facebook/ IG was full of hate messages from their fans, there where a lot of band member rotation, and keene kept going down,
@@MrXmannymanx yeah he was irreplaceable, but i honestly thought in becoming a ghost was my favorite after planetary duality...really strong album. fight me irl
This honestly isn't the song of theirs to go crazy too. When I saw them live I moshed to almost every song but this one because it's so glourious and they are all such brilliant musicians.
@roughdraftdeathmetal nope. It's too much compression on the master buss. It's way louder than most videos on the tube. It doesn't have to be. We have a volume knob. We can control it.
Watching this band, I have the same reaction I had when I first saw the back of Decapitated's "Winds of Creation," and that Shredder had when he first met the mutated Toka and Razar: BABIEEEEEES! DEYAH BABIEEEEEES!!!
@oaktubs i played tech death gigs for over 5 years without triggers just fine.. But I can tell ya, triggers are harder to play with, any mistake is magnified.
@Altered6Chicken Clipping is unintended distortion of audio. Possible causes: audio put too hard in the mix for the mixer/audio file format to handle it or microphones not able to handle the high volume (and a few others causes real professionals can tell you). The first cause is most likely here, I think.
The bassist keeps it so cool playing this technical shit.
Viimane this song isn't that hard to play on bass tbh

Check Roger Patterson, the godfather of tech death bass. He had an Afro as well.
@@TheDCFaust still dont see a cover of this song on your channel big boy
This was their best album! So damn talented.
This album + xbox 360 + halo = my life back in the day.
Classic neck beard special. Only thing you’re forgetting is ramen noodles
@claytonwyatt9780 This coming from a neckbeard is hilarious

Dude yes and they are legit.
@@bowlofnuggets Zenith Passage is a cool band but they're nowhere near what the Faceless was.
This band reminds me so much of Atheist, mostly their second album. Had to be inspired by it. They’re like a more modern take and it’s awesome.

@Baph Omet it was actually wes who got me into this band

The faceless needs this lineup again.... BAD
Brandon's back in the band and Justin McKinney is the new guitarist, so I expect the outcome to be somewhat similar to this.

You made my day
Yep, a gig is a gig
Demon Carcass best vocalist they ever had hands down!
Best live presence, but the next one seemed to have a more powerful/refined version of Demon’s vocals on Autotheism.
Seen this band 5 times, and each time was a different line up. That says a LOT about Keene.
This performance and song is so dope, that it is confusing me lol
This video will never get old
When they were a good band. Miss this lineup
I love how Daath and The Faceless are both good live and have these awesome jazz influences. c:
its like half the mars Volta joined the faceless
Ace Kiser lmfao
Doctor Aven at the face Volta
The best Faceless formation so far!
A band and concept that has truly changed extreme music.
that bass sounds so good
what is the name of this bassist?
@@sempretemdetudo9983 I believe its Jarrad Lander
Phil Lynott reincarnated and played bass for The Faceless.
hands down easily the best album and lineup this band had, this shit crazy tight and good
His vocals are even better live!
that afro is so metal it went back in time and made it cool again :P
they are amazing live, jeez.
3:17 that sucks Steve Jones equipment went out. Don't think anyone caught that lol
It's refreshing to see that even Michael Keene can fuck up sometimes
right when the camera was on his hands too
Actually he fuck up everytime, watch their live videos and youll see.
How did i missed this one?! This is the nutrient i needed!
my favorite song from the album! breakdown is insane.
the most original band in the genre I've ever heard!
Man...Always loved watching Steve play.
That afro and bass groove are straight out of a 70's porno.
I wish Derek was still in the band :(

This guys are so tight playing live!
I really miss this the faceless
This is amazing recording quality for this type of music on youtube. It's normally wank. They're spot on live! (y)
i love how it cuts to the crowd at 00:24 and theres like three guys moshing
