Hey Tom not sure if there's any truth to this I've never tried it since I have no vinyl fence but a fence guy had told me there's a product that's a car wash it has a carnubwax compound in it as well as A u V protection if you wash your fence down yearly with it the wax should help repel the water and of course the UV should protect it keep it from getting that chalky appearance.
