I notice a pattern in most of these games: One side overextends (as they all do) and gets pushed back, but then a "loose" log jam forms that allows them to build up a critical mass which allows them the numbers to slowly overcome the other sides trickle. The downside is those games where the jam is "hard" and remains in place trapping their units, though that seems rare.
The "jammed" up units also need long range to be useful. In this case, the v2 rockets did the job in the first round, and rocket soldiers in the second round. I suspect the exploding grenade and flamethrower units didn't help on the soviet side for massing rocket soldiers.
The secret is that I run these fights many times and select the closest fight! The fights are often either very one-sided or there's a stalemate and it drags on for too long.
In the infantry battle those grenadiers are just a liability with their suicide detonations, and in the first battle those massed V2s really kicked ass and nothing could stop them. But could we all just stop for a second as there are two things I would like to say: 1. Please take a moment to recognise the tree sacrifice in the infantry battle, truly those were heroic trees that have seen alot 2. A moments silence please for the real MVPs of the first battle: the brave ore trucks, suicidal some might say, that did their duty without thinking of personal safety as they drove like absolute mad lads, unarmed, straight at the enemies guns. Truly heroic.
4:12 can we all appreciate the moment that engineer spawned on the red barracks, running through the battlefield with nothing but a brief case to capture that allied barracks 🤣👍
On the infantry only battle, the Soviet flametroopers proved to be their greatest weakness just as much as their greatest strength. Yes, they deal a lot of damage to where the Soviets looked like they were gonna win. But whenever there was a squad of them together, once one of them was killed, they blew up in a big fireball and so do the surrounding flametroopers thus also taking a bunch of other friendly infantry with them too. Quite the fireworks show.
4:30 I did not understand both sides were allied at first. If I had, I propably would have called it for V2+Tesla tank. They are more or less able to fight every enemy unit with their uniques. Meanwhile Tanya is a anti-infantry glass cannon. And the Chrono Tank a anti-armor glasscannon. Wich are way more limited. As often, it helped that the V2 had the range to attack factories and defenses without putting themself at risk - wich allowed them to stack up more units behind the frontline of tanks and infantry. I guess in Red Alert 1, the allied side is a lot more micro-intenstive to play well. 8:25 I called that one wrong. I did not asume Armor would mater, given how little infantery has to begin with. And what kind of counters (infantry, flamers) the russian side had. Wich would have made speed for reinforcements the most important. But apparently the lack of explosion chains on the allied side drastically helped them along. What also propably helped is the Russian AI not building any Tesla Towers. While primarily anti vehicle, tesla and obelisks actually got 3 charges per charage cycle. They can use up all 3 in on firing animation, but will never use more charges then needed to kill their target.
You can predict the likely winner from the war factory positions. If the war factories are at the back of the base and protected, then they will likely win, since the enemy cannot easily destroy them, and they can keep pumping out vehicles.
OMG at 7:19 at the most bottom left soviet barracks an engineer gets built the instant the barracks gets captured and then he captures it back a few milliseconds later.
red soviets was a war factory down most of the time and orange soviet had a traffic jam, but both still held their own against unhindered allies. once the traffic jam cleared, the soviet blob rolled over the allies. Even though faster rate of fire & longer range theoretically should beat faster units (cheaper units don't matter). In a fair fight, these kinds of challenges will nearly always favor the soviets due to higher average unit quality when plainly attack moving into the enemy :)
It seems like the yellow just saved his tanks until he had a fuck ton of them and overwhelmed his opponents who would just put their tanks into battle once they come out of the factory. Didnt expect so much fun out of an old game I stopped playing decades ago. The Queen in the end is just cream of the crop
That infantry round reminds me of ww2, it's pretty clear who will win for quite a while but god knows how many more people have to die before it's finished.
The most devastating allied infantry unit is the soviet flame thrower.

Fairly strong advantage
And anyway win 💪
I liked the part where Tanya laughed.
Where? Could you give me a timestamp please? ;)
@Mertzi Plomeros. She was having a field day ;)
"Great! Now build the refinery!"
"But Sir-..."
"I said BUILD THE REFINERY!!!"
Me : Watching closely at the carnage
Tanya : ahahhaha
"For England Tanya?"
"No, I'm free."
@8:01, the single God Mode engineer takes a barracks. XD
he entered a power plant

I’ve also noticed a pattern. The ai is rubbish. Why build towers at the back of your base? That alone would change a lot of battles.
The secret is that I run these fights many times and select the closest fight! The fights are often either very one-sided or there's a stalemate and it drags on for too long.
@@StuGames how can I test that?
@@StuGames could you show some one-sided ones? Just for statistic.
3:38 That rocket snipe on the HQ tho.
Nice spot.
its the subtle things that I enjoy most, like the original C&C soundtrack and the insane destruction!!!
The real surprise was how many buildings were captured instead of destroyed lol.
those flamethrowers are just the worst xD.
More Soviet deaths from friendly fire than killed by enemy.
@@bangscutter At least they take the "fire" part of "friendly fire" seriously!
7:18 On the bottom a barracks gets taken over by blue and not even a second later back by orange xD
Damn, nice spot. Barely noticed it even when looking.

Only Westwood/Petroglyph understands the beauty of no pop caps.
It’s fun to predict each match setup, especially if you’re familiar with the rules.ini and game mechanics.

that V2 concave hitting the production facilities is a winner
This is awesome. I just wonder how many times I would hear "units lost"
The red sovjet tanked a lot of damage with that war factory!

@Rusnya Beware Computer never build dogs only in RA2
*"Ahahahahaha."
only two matches???? I went 1-1. We need more Stu :)
It was interesting in the first match that when the cpu started building v2s, it was over
Some units just excel in groups, like the V2. Others do the opposite, like flamethrowers...
This mod is absolute chaos, but I LOVE IT!

Tanya: “Well, I guess you had to be there.”
It almost hurts to see Chronotanks being "used" that way...

Need to get the Navy involved me thinks!
4:30 Stalin image is so funny :))
I want my 9 minutes back! ............... So I can watch it again!
I was gonna make another "you have chosen death" joke about the flamethrowers but it feels a little mean as those guys have been through a lot.
Would be interesting to see the casualty stats for the battles next time!
You’ve got to ask yourself what kind of breeding program they have going on in the barracks
Finally The AI builds Tesla Coils in a spot where they can kill stuff!
I know right!
Ha ha. The ai is a bit rubbish with these battles.
I also noticed that. Finally it happened, I was almost running for popcorns👍🏻
Do the soviets also train faster or is it ONLY cheaper units?
OMG at 7:19 at the most bottom left soviet barracks an engineer gets built the instant the barracks gets captured and then he captures it back a few milliseconds later.
I Love and enjoyed your vids. Great Job and keep doing this series. I really Like it. :-D
What about Stu fighting 1-1 against such a AI (all buildings and forces don''t cost anything and are created instantly)? Do you accept the challenge?
I don't think that would be too bad, but keep in mind that the AI is cheating, because they can build out of multiple factories at once!
@@StuGames At least you can place defences on the correct side of the base.
red soviets was a war factory down most of the time and orange soviet had a traffic jam, but both still held their own against unhindered allies. once the traffic jam cleared, the soviet blob rolled over the allies. Is "faster units" or "cheaper units" a reasonable bonus for such game mode? (No costs and small map)
Gets me every time that they have advantages I’m surprised it never said like Ra2 does. Also those rocket launcher guys though shit!
Where is Tanya? I can't see her...

not even a tanya on the map during the infantry round and she's still laughing
Tanya alone makes the allies better at infantry, especially when the flamethrowers goes boom.
You're just helping her stay immortal, you know, by getting the subs in her name
