Yoongi is one of the most talented rappers I know in the kpop industry and I'm not even an army (fan of bts) but well this has to be said he's literally killing it each times. I listened to various rappers from kpop group and I don't know much guys using such a raw langage on their songs to describe their feelings. Like u said ppl in Korea are usually very "respectful" while talking abt older ppl well Yoongi basically doesn't give a shit lol

This MV just gets better every time I watch it. I really love the juxtaposition of traditional Korean culture and modern music and the pride for both that is displayed. The lyrics are smart and really toe that line of braggadocio where it’s just short of arrogant and I love that energy! I think Stray Kids’ Thunderous MV gives a similar feeling; I started really respecting them after reading how Thunderous and the Noeasy album as a whole was a response to criticism of not only their music but their culture.

It's really interesting that you picked up on him making a beat with his flow cuz the beat of the song is actually the same throughout so that the focus was more on his flow. Yoongi always goes harder and more explicit when he takes on his Agust D persona, it's amazing. The BTS rap line are on another level of lyricism, flow, production, everything I really think you'd like BTS' stuff and especially everything pertaining to the rap line

Your excitement was contagious and so gratifying to see - yes, Daechwita is a rare gem that is treasured by many as one of the greatest releases of that year and also its video scoring the highest. Min Yoongi ( civil name) / Suga ( when one in BTS) and AgustD ( when going solo) is one of the most best and most established rappers and music producers in SK today. All three rappers in BTS are fantastic and you should check them out individually because each of them is different with his own flavor and style. AgustD is my fave rapper today and his text are something I have never encountered elsewhere. Deep, punchy, raw, honest, deeply personal and incredibly emotional. Daechwita is aggressive and punchy but there are others that show you a totally different side of this guy. That part about flexing, where you felt like it could need some ad-libs, is actually meant to be like that :) it's mocking a rap-style that was popular in Korea around that time when a lot of rappers would just slowly talk and "flex" about whatever over a trap beat
The is gonna be a long explaination but I everyone who loves his work needs to know this. So here it is To begin with, “daechwita” is the Korean word to refer to the traditional marching music played at the time of a King’s arrival. The video starts with the King avatar of Agust D with a scar running across his eye. It looks fresh and hasn’t completely healed over yet. The other protagonist is Agust D as himself, also with a scar running across his face, completely healed over.This is relevant in order to show a natural progression and further reinforce that these two characters are simply versions of the same person in and out of time. In Korean tradition, a man or woman with a scar is barred from coveting the throne even if it rightfully belongs to them. As such, the fact that the King has an evident scar right on his face proves that he’s probably had to fight off all royalty to retain his position. It is likely that he wasn’t born royal either (had to struggle in his early days as a BTS member) and had to fight his way up to the top. (Back to the video) Having struggled so much, the King is wary of outsiders and taken on the role of a tyrant so that nobody can even dare to threaten his place. Taking the easy way out, he executes whoever complains, signified by the kneeling figures in black and disembodied victims of the King. At the same time, AGUST D, backed by his crew of 6 other men and a woman( represents the rest of the members of BTS and the woman represents ARMY ) is quietly making the moves to stage a coup. He’s loved by the people and he has connections everywhere. Likely after long periods of careful planning, the two finally meet face to face when AGUST D drives up to the King’s palace. The King is unimpressed and has him captured whereas Agust D is equally unbothered and is headbanging to his own beat. He reiterates the word “daechwita” announcing the arrival of the real King, Agust D. The figures in black, kneeling down earlier, have now raised their heads, joining hands with Agust D. The king orders his man to execute Agust D. The King believes that AGUST D is dead but before he can turn his back, the executioner, who was evidently part of AGUST D’s people all along, fakes his execution and frees him, handing him a gun instead. The very last scene finds AGUST D getting up, pointing his gun at the “King” and shooting him dead. AGUST D of the past, with wounds fresh from the humiliation, malicious comments of haters and lack of support is defensive and reacts violently to opposition. For AGUST D of the present, those scars have faded away, leaving behind a more mature persona. Daechwita’s music video single-handedly chalks the progression from Suga’s first mixtape to his latest, from being a young rapper to a professional Grammy-nominated artist.

I will say that the in the verse about "flexing" where you mentioned it could used some adlibs, the whole purpose of his delivery is actually in connection with those other rappers he's calling out that rap in that similar, simplistic flow and beats but swear they're goated. It's basically supposed to be a taunt but at the same time be a bar, because his flow and delivery are so good that he doesn't need to make those basic flex rap songs like that = "Flexing, I got none." His success on its own does that, which is why he says "I don't need one."

Talk about vulnerable, how about the message in OUTRO: TEAR, which SUGA began writing out of his grief when the group was considering disbanding? The other rappers added their ideas and it became quite the tearjerker when ARMY belatedly found out the motivation for the rap. The Wembley Stadium performance is touching.
I grinned when you said "I like this kid" because he was 27 when he recorded this and had been rapping and writing songs for more than a decade, and had won awards both with BTS and solo. And also because, within BTS, he's often seen as a cranky old man. So sorry about your floor! I hope it's easily repaired. I usually recommend that people plan to watch this video a few times. The musicality, the meaning of the lyrics, and the story told in the video are all worth paying attention to. The section where you noted his flow switch and use of rhyme is one of my favorite things in the world, just absolutely love his dropped-voice rapid smooth flow.

Fun fact, :58 into the Daechwita music video, the man who spins around when Suga bumps into him is his bandmate Jin, and the guy next to Jin (who starts shoving Jin) is bandmate Jungkook. They both made cameos for Suga.
JIN is outfitted as an older fisherman (one of his beloved hobbies), with fishing pole and topknot, while JK is outfitted as an emotional younger man, with hair that is down, and decent fighting skills, trying to grow out of his "Bunny" youth. Also, the way JIN-hyung turned around looking rather annoyed at the "younger" Agust-D, who bumped into him without a respectful apology.

But the 3rd goes hard live and the 4th live is just chef's kiss (works so well with the crowd). Daechwita is the traditional music played when kings would travel among the people or when the army would march to war. Either way, it means you better step aside. The blonde king represents the Suga and Agust D persona that he built up when he was trying to get big and make money. The dark haired version represents Min Yoongi (his real name). He has said that he felt like he lost his way and some of his sense of self due to his ambition. So, the characters represent him trying to fight back to his real self as a person and an artist. The pill popping comment is commentary on that trend in rap culture that people would use to seem cooler. He is saying he doesn't need it because he is just that good. The MV story is basically a fight for the crown. There are several spots that show the real ruler. The keychain is actually the royal jade seal that only the king can possess. The true king is supposed to be a natural leader and the people will follow him instinctively. This is shown in several ways. For instance, when he starts head banging, all the members of the court join in and the butcher in the market stall that he talks to in the beginning of the MV is the executioner at the end who does his bidding and frees him.
In addition to Agust D/Suga being an amazing artist, song writer, composer & producer, his performance & ability to portray both roles in the MV are mouth dropping! I found there was also more to his Daechwita ICONIC hit. There are articles that state Suga's family are high ranking decants of the Yeoheung Min Clan, a very powerful clan during Joseon dynasty. How interesting is that!!!

The is gonna be a long explaination but I everyone who loves his work needs to know this. So here it is
To begin with, “daechwita” is the Korean word to refer to the traditional marching music played at the time of a King’s arrival. The video starts with the King avatar of Agust D with a scar running across his eye. It looks fresh and hasn’t completely healed over yet. The other protagonist is Agust D as himself, also with a scar running across his face, completely healed over.This is relevant in order to show a natural progression and further reinforce that these two characters are simply versions of the same person in and out of time. In Korean tradition, a man or woman with a scar is barred from coveting the throne even if it rightfully belongs to them. As such, the fact that the King has an evident scar right on his face proves that he’s probably had to fight off all royalty to retain his position. It is likely that he wasn’t born royal either (had to struggle in his early days as a BTS member)
and had to fight his way up to the top.

Having struggled so much, the King is wary of outsiders and taken on the role of a tyrant so that nobody can even dare to threaten his place. Taking the easy way out, he executes whoever complains, signified by the kneeling figures in black and disembodied victims of the King. At the same time, AGUST D, backed by his crew of 6 other men and a woman( represents the rest of the members of BTS and the woman represents ARMY ) is quietly making the moves to stage a coup. He’s loved by the people and he has connections everywhere. Likely after long periods of careful planning, the two finally meet face to face when AGUST D drives up to the King’s palace. The King is unimpressed and has him captured whereas Agust D is equally unbothered and is headbanging to his own beat. He reiterates the word “daechwita” announcing the arrival of the real King, Agust D. The figures in black, kneeling down earlier, have now raised their heads, joining hands with Agust D. The king orders his man to execute Agust D. The King believes that AGUST D is dead but before he can turn his back, the executioner, who was evidently part of AGUST D’s people all along, fakes his execution and frees him, handing him a gun instead. The very last scene finds AGUST D getting up, pointing his gun at the “King” and shooting him dead. AGUST D of the past, with wounds fresh from the humiliation, malicious comments of haters and lack of support is defensive and reacts violently to opposition. For AGUST D of the present, those scars have faded away, leaving behind a more mature persona. Daechwita’s music video single-handedly chalks the progression from Suga’s first mixtape to his latest, from being a young rapper to a professional Grammy-nominated artist.

I will say that the in the verse about "flexing" where you mentioned it could used some adlibs, the whole purpose of his delivery is actually in connection with those other rappers he's calling out that rap in that similar, simplistic flow and beats but swear they're goated. It's basically supposed to be a taunt but at the same time be a bar, because his flow and delivery are so good that he doesn't need to make those basic flex rap songs like that = "Flexing, I got none." His success on its own does that, which is why he says "I don't need one."

I usually recommend that people plan to watch this video a few times. The musicality, the meaning of the lyrics, and the story told in the video are all worth paying attention to. The section where you noted his flow switch and use of rhyme is one of my favorite things in the world, just absolutely love his dropped-voice rapid smooth flow.

Fun fact, :58 into the Daechwita music video, the man who spins around when Suga bumps into him is his bandmate Jin, and the guy next to Jin (who starts shoving Jin) is bandmate Jungkook. They both made cameos for Suga.
JIN is outfitted as an older fisherman (one of his beloved hobbies), with fishing pole and topknot, while JK is outfitted as an emotional younger man, with hair that is down, and decent fighting skills, trying to grow out of his "Bunny" youth.
Also, the way JIN-hyung turned around looking rather annoyed at the "younger" Agust-D, who bumped into him without a respectful apology.

But the 3rd goes hard live and the 4th live is just chef's kiss (works so well with the crowd). There's a cypher medley from BTS' 2017 concert which is insane - unfortunately the best version is only available on dailymotion and fb, but there's a version on yt that uses fancams in between to allow it to pass on yt. Daechwita is the traditional music played when kings would travel among the people or when the army would march to war. Either way, it means you better step aside. The blonde king represents the Suga and Agust D persona that he built up when he was trying to get big and make money. The dark haired version represents Min Yoongi (his real name). He has said that he felt like he lost his way and some of his sense of self due to his ambition. So, the characters represent him trying to fight back to his real self as a person and an artist. The pill popping comment is commentary on that trend in rap culture that people would use to seem cooler. He is saying he doesn't need it because he is just that good.
The MV story is basically a fight for the crown. There are several spots that show the real ruler. The keychain is actually the royal jade seal that only the king can possess. The true king is supposed to be a natural leader and the people will follow him instinctively. This is shown in several ways. For instance, when he starts head banging, all the members of the court join in and the butcher in the market stall that he talks to in the beginning of the MV is the executioner at the end who does his bidding and frees him.
In addition to Agust D/Suga being an amazing artist, song writer, composer & producer, his performance & ability to portray both roles in the MV are mouth dropping! I found there was also more to his Daechwita ICONIC hit. There are articles that state Suga's family are high ranking decants of the Yeoheung Min Clan, a very powerful clan during Joseon dynasty. How interesting is that!!!
