  • The Napoleonic Wars were a devastating European conflict that raged for more than a decade, as French Emperor Napoleon took on a coalition of France's enemies. And though his military genius helped him to win victory after victory, in the end - with most of Europe marching against him - defeat proved inescapable.

Indeed Napoleon brought back the Mythology into the world from the ancient world, Charlemagne was crowned by the pope, Napoleon made the pope watch as he crown himself. Napoleon was the bridge between 2 eras with his saber he cut history in two with the before and the after and he brought France into the world of mythology, before the world of mythology it was the Egyptians, it was the Greeks and the Romans now there is France in the world of mythology.

Because the Spanish wanted to join the fourth coalition in 1806 and were in negotiations with the Prussians to do so. It is only due to news of the battle of Jena that they abandoned this at last minute. However, Napoleon's spies had already found out about these alarming developments. Spain's untrustworthiness is why Napoleon wanted to install his brother in order to make sure Spain wouldn't be a threat in future. In Ireland we had the Irish legion. This is the main history to it
One of the best legions in napoleons army. It was formed after the failed invasion of Ireland over 20 thousand Irish fought in it.
They were meant to be the spear head to the next invasions of Ireland but after the Spanish fleet sunk were withdrawn to fight in Germany against Russia.
The story said the Irish legion met a whole brigade of British prisoners. We were the only foreigners to be given our own flag it was made in Ireland by rebels and sent to France and said “ freedom of conscience/ independence of Ireland “ this legion was also given the bronze eagle of the imperial eagle the sign of honour to the regiment and was the only foreigners to get a imperial eagle directly from napoleon. So when passing the British pows the Irish unrolled there flag flaunted the eagle and played rebel music this created mass support and over 500 prussians joined the Irish legion with some poles.
We continued the invasions east but were luckily withdrawn before the retreat from Moscow
Irish legion also spear headed the peninsula war and the invasions of Portugal and Spain
At the Siege of Astorga the same legion was put under Portuguese command
When the grande army was formed after the peninsula war over 2000 Irish were pulled from the regiments to fight at Waterloo these were some of the best soldiers in the French army at the time and veterans from fighting Cossacks in Russia and in Spain.
After exile the Irish flags were taken and locked away never seen again and the 125 year tradition of fighting for France was over
Before Waterloo British hung Irish prisoners napoleon met the regiment who fought the bodies and kissed all the Irish men on the forehead. This brought over 7000 Irish to join him in France
