I got this ending even though I killed him. I love all his "I gotta have the Last Word" Its like he is in a late 90's tv show like "Unsolved mysteries" all the corny turning to the cameras.
I mean, he never really lies though. He's annoyed, but he's also immortal. Adding a new god to the pantheon will weaken them all, and even if he has to wait a few more millennia to get the crown it's not really any loss to him in the end.
He’s the guy who’s hot but who’s got a terrible personality but has enough charisma to compensate for it, maybe even get you to like him a bit, until you are reminded of just how awful he is TDLR he’s a amazing character with a very good jawline
Gale shoukd become an insanely powerful god, since power is determined by worshippers and worship is determined by how much reach your domain has. Gale's domain of ambition is something shared amongst all races and classes over the whole continent.
@@SaretzEveryone has ambitions, even Gods.....So on a sunny day in celestia, Gale will try to seek that ambition, murder, war, betrayal, Raphael could be right 😈
Gotta hate, and maybe love, how Raphael is right. Gale never grew past his hubris. And ambition means that you might end up wanting more than you need. Especially cause he would be at odds with Mystra. As Raphael said, Gale will bring about so much chaos as he grows in power that it is not even in feasible that he might one day seek to bring usurp higher gods. Which will inevitable cause far more problems in the long run. Raphael claiming he will rise is his own hubris talking, but it isn’t outside the realm of possibilities for him.
@@Saretz And notice he specifically says when “you” are gone. Raphael knows that any humanity within Gale that would keep him on the straight and narrow even as a god will fade with Tav’s death. Raphael just needs to wait patiently for the inevitable catastrophe to come while gathering as much power and resources as possible so that he can try to come out on top.
@@0axis771Though I think that might be an oversight, cause, technically, this ending plays in both cases, when Gale ascends and when when you both ascend, so I think they forgot to add a different line in case you're also a god
The problem with all of this is that Ao can literally snap his fingers and undo Gale's ascension in a moment. He demoted Mystra without any effort at all, once upon a time. And as the goddess of magic, Mystra is a huge part of what defines reality (aka the Weave).
@@stygian1522 Ao is the god of “I don’t care at all unless it threatens my balance.” As God Gale said, give it a thousand years and Ao will let the ascension slide.
Jokes aside, he has a- point- kinda-. A God whose entire THING is ambition when the plot of the game was Gods being ambitious and putting the sword coast at risk because of it.
I just like how my guy managed to set up multiple angles so his speech will feel dynamic. And I honesty kinda agreed with him. On my 2nd play i just made a deal with him and game him the crown. I just want to belive that "wait for me knocking on your door" was something more about new adventure than enslavement of my world
its very hard to actually permanently kill devils. They just take a long time to recover. So no, you never killed him. Thats why you always need to be careful when making enemies of devils and demons.
Y'know, he gives me them G-man vibes from Half-Life; he's not quite as foreboding, ominous and shrouded in mystery as the G-man, of course, but he is almost on the same wavelength in the delivery of his lines and how heavy the meaning in those words is... I approve, wholeheartedly
Raphael makes it out like this is all to his eventual benefit, but considering that most of his plans fail throughout the game, why the hell would we believe him now? He's scheming up something nice, sure, but he's really just lying to himself if he thinks he can pull it off. His track record speaks for itself.
Sunder is an interesting choiceof words here. The 2nd sundering just happened to make the 5e world cannon. I am probably reading to much into that, but it would be neat if Raphael is implying that the new edition of DND will be because of Gale and his silliness. That would be actually pretty funny, once again the God of magic causing DND to change revisions :D
Thanks, I'll never get to see this dialogue in any of my playthroughs, so this is the only way for me to experience it. His loot in the House of Hope is just way too good and so is his fight where I can limit test the shit out of my party!
New thread :) Finished Underdark, and this time, I made myself adamantine scimitar, and one splint mail, I used to make two, because of my combo of classes, have heavy armor proficiency with shadowheart and Astarion too, but I had to try making the scimitar, every hit critical, and ignores resistance to slashing! My rogue-ranger dark urge also have heavy armor proficiency, but I made him wear Luminous armor for now, combined with staver of skulls on off-hand, that deals radiant damage, to trigger the armor's shockwave, and I have those boots that add reveberation, so with one hit, I can give a whole bunch of enemies negative statuses! And yeah, I'm dual wielder, to add proficiency bonus to off-hand damage! Great build! And now, critical hit with every successful shot! Almost left for Mountain Pass, dealt with the Kithrak's crew attack, and then I remember I didn't finish goblins right outside that Sellune temple, near goblin camp portal, great ring there on one goblin, adds 10 ft to movement speed!
I love that he’s like “AH YES IVE GOT ONE OVER ON YOU!” And it’s like, buddy, sweet pathetic child, the Gods are fighting anyways, they probably doing it right now, this ain’t new for them. And even if you did get the crown, the still have to suck up to Asmodeus. He thinks he’s like, a master mind, when like, the next door we have the dead three nearly killing the planet right under everyone’s noises.
Me: "I beat you without destroying the pillars that empowered you. And on top of that, not only did I beat you, I beat you into a corner and beat you into submission. Do you honestly think you can defeat a god? Let alone one that has dominion over your driving force?"
Splendid writing, really. Making a deal with you was one of his plan. May be encouraging Gale to take the crown is the 'right' choice, after all, consider the devil came to you to goad about the decision.
He's dramatic, but he's right. The lesson every single companion has to learn in the story is made most clear in Lae'zel's: to ascend is to be consumed. This kind of long-term scheming and planning is what baatezu do. Even gods fall to their machinations. He's definitely concealing his indignation at this plan going awry, but its not like he hasn't literally lived through the plans of 3 gods cooperating falling apart to a handful of randoms. Gale is a real dipshit for this one.
Don't know if you know this, Lady Esther in Mountain Pass, if you have owlbear egg with you, you can sell her that instead of stealing the Gith egg! After persuasion that convinces her that her employers wouldn't know the difference! This game managed to surprise me AGAIN, with different outcomes!
Oh yeah I always trade the owlbear egg, has it doesn't seem to have any other purpose (other than cooking) - I didn't know the scimitar was that good though :o
@@Saretz Yeah, but for this portion of the game, and most of act 2, I'll probably switch later on, have one dagger in mind, and that pirate duellist weapon that you get after you save Vanra from Hag stomach :) But that is even better when you wield only one weapon, and off-hand empty, cause then you get one extra attack! But it's very good for dual wielding too! Justiciar scimitar will probably replace Phalar Aluve, equiped that on off-hand, for sing and shriek ability! Decimated the eagles because of that, and casted Mystra's double bless with Gale on the party :) They didn't have a chance! That staver of skulls I gave to Shadowheart, along with luminous armor, boots for reveberation, and now, that helm that deals radiant damage if someone misses you! Not only that successful hit triggers the radiant shockwave, but enemies missed attacks too! Equiped that Graceful Cloth, that have cat's grace on my character instead of luminous, to raise my dex to 20!
@@Saretz I must find out why Kithrak died after I used non-lethal damage last time, I knocked him out, and lae'zel wasn't pissed at all, he was on the ground, but alive, bit then after long rest, got an quest update that he's gone! Lae'zel didn't comment that next day, only once when I finished him in fron of her! I'm doing that because of the Silver Sword, I wanted to be as OP as possible for House of Hope, and you get that sword only after that quest! I saw that some people take the sword in act 1 even, involving hirelings, and leaving someone in camp for resurrection after he obliterates you, but on honor mode, didn't want to try that, I must try it at least once on difficulty that allows loading, cause everything depends on one action, drop weapon MUST work for that plan! And after commander Zhalik, didn't want repeat :)
@@zoranhorvat8284 Not sure about your question, but you don't need to go through the house of hope to get the sword, you just need to accept Raphael's deal, he'll give you the hammer and Voss will reward you with the sword right away, then you can still go to the house to break your contract and loot stuff
@@Saretz Yeah, that is not a bad idea! Although I'm used to sticking it to Raphael from the very beginning, but that would be the ultimate jab, betrayal! There's no consequences for taking and breaking the deal if Raphael is no more, I'm guessing! Maybe for Paladin's oath, would be considered breaking it, deal with the devil could qualify!
i genuinely believe raphael, in the right time and place, can get this crown back.. i dont think he acts like a loser at all like some people have said here, actually he seems very conscious of the situation i mean hes one of the most powerful devils and one of the most intense fights in the game lol i dont think this cutscene was for nothing
"One of the most powerful devils" is quite the statement, in the big picture he's not really much at all. Sure, in the game he's certainly something, but without the crown he isn't really a threat to the actual strong ones, and even with the crown, Asmodeus exists
What I consider weird is that Primus (God of Law and Modrons) never send the Inevitables to stop Gale from becoming a God, and beleive when I say that Inevitables are strong as fuck, there are stronger than the devils, stronger than most Demons, literally the only thing that can surpass them are angels, powerful celestials, Demon Lords, Archdevils, Dragons, and of course the Gods.
I'm not an expert on DnD lore but I can't think of a reason why Gale shouldn't be allowed to ascend. Mortals ascending isn't unheard of, far from it, Mystra and the Dead Three are all ascended mortals for instance. Iirc Ao the overdeity needs to approve of the ascension but as long as it's okay for him there is no problem and no need for Primus or anyone else to prevent it
@@exantiuse497 That Is correct, this Is a step that only applies on the Forgotten Realms setting and Is the approval of Ao, but the thing is that when a mortal tries to ascend to Godhood, Primus send his inevitables to stop him because that Is against the law, and Primus Is really Inflexible when he applies the law.
The game itself will be canon, that was already confirmed before its release, now though, which endings will be considered canon...that's a different story
After me hearing the Raphael's Last Act, I strike him down EVERY playthrough, to get that fight, AND the song :) It's my 7th run, now I'm playing honor mode, and I think I will go to the House of Hope, for the hammer, to make him finally shut up, and for the song, of course! The risk be damned! It's not only the song, I want to pick up all the items there, for final fights!
@@Saretz So do I! But I will max my characters first, by doing stuff, Sorcerous Sundries, Hag, catch the murderer, Astarion's quest, and I think that should do it! My Grym fight was funny, I was not certain if the items from the forge are worth the risk, but then I tried something else, filled mold and materials, and lowered the platform with a bow from the stairs, so my WHOLE party was out of Grym's range :) Had to summon spiritual weapon and flaming sphere for bait, and the party was helping from above with random shots
@@Saretz I realized that with Raphael, it's best to bring at least 4 Disintegrate scrolls, for pillars, in older versions only radiant damage worked, now the force damage also takes effect! That spell even work on him like a charm! Hope is only for healing, and others deal with the foes.. Last time I brought a ton of water barrels, and hit the whole area with lightning and cold damage! Once I even managed to bring sussur bloom, have screenshot for proof, don't know how that happened, maybe because I sent the blooms in camp via right click menu.. Tried that the last time first, but patch 5 makes them withered
@@Saretz well considering everyone is fawning over Raphael, he'll definitely show up in the next game, even if 'killing' him in the HOH is canon and it's way easier just taking what someone said in the previous game and saying ''we were hinting at that from the beginning' and making that the sequel then an entire new story from scratch.
@@TheVincenzoGaming On Raphael, I've read of comments saying Avernus is not his "birth" plane given who is father is, thus he'd still be around. Though I'm not sure that's how it works
Kick ass Raphael! Fuck Gale... not all heroes wear capes, some eat crepes! I hated killing bro, but you left me no choice. Haarlep was just a booty call! Meant nothing to me. Raphael forever!!
Yeah this is why i dont get it when people say Gale only has good endings...yeah no he basically learnt nothing and untamed ambtition is very dangerous..
Honestly, I'd say he didn't need to learn anything, because he was RIGHT. He learned from Karsus' folly, clearly, because Gale succeeded where he failed. He was right to be ambitious, clearly he had the competence to back his ambition up. Look at him, he became a god in under a month after he had to start over again from square one! Mystra was holding him back, the moment he was no longer her chosen, he shot right up into godhood in the blink of an eye. He was like a spring that she was holding down. All he needed to do was stop seeking her approval, and just like that, he became her equal. Ambition can be bad and lead to ruin, yes, but it can also be great and lead to the betterment of everything. Was Gale in the right morally? I'm not sure. But was he too ambitious? I don't think so. His goal was clearly achievable, because as you can see, he achieved it.
My friend, Raphael, you're embarrassing yourself. I killed you in your own domain and at your strongest in under a minute just by throwing stuff at you. You're not even a threat to a meathead like me, let alone a god. Accept defeat with some dignity and maybe, MAYBE Gale will answer your prayers.
Got a great tactic for dealing with shadowcurse, first, i finish that one goblin waiting, then I go to convoy, and BEFORE playing the Spider Lyre, I slaughter every single character in the screen that is not my party member :) Easier that way, and you get the lamp immediately after dealing with "BG3 spiderman", you don't have to go to Isobel for it, cause after the ambush, you have no choice! So, I skipped the ambush entirely, and deal with the situation myself, on my own terms! I play the Lyre after the slaughter, and then, spiderman is ALONE, surrounded by our little pack of misfits :) And yeah, I released the pixie of course! It helps later when you have to change the headlines in the city's paper, Stop the presses quest! I try to do that as soon as possible, cause after your vendor prices are significantly lower!
That's what I usually do :p, freeing the pixie is the better option regardless, cause the buff goes onto everyone and you don't need to worry about the range of the lantern anymore
The fight before playing the Lyre, could not be easier, they are not hostile when you arrive, so you can position everybody just right, I cast rain on most of them, that doesn't make them hostile, but the lightning bolt right after, that makes them less then friendly :) Most of them can't survive even the first blast, cause of the wet status, and those who do, have very little HP left!
@@Saretz I have a question, does guidance adds bonuses for pickpocketing as well? I REALLY want to clean out that trader at the Last Light's waypoint, but it's easier after the Moonrise fight, I wait there when she climbs those ladders and go up, I follow her, and then clean out what I can there, with no one looking! At the Inn is harder, much more prying eyes! Actually, I got away with something already, maybe I should just count my blessings, and just buy what I nee, I have 16k so far! Yuan-ti scale mail is the item I stoled, I thought, the first time they caught you, you get an option to talk your way out of it, so I had to try it, cause that armor is just CRAZY good for a dex based build! I had Shadowheart cast guidance on me before trying, and that mark of the shifter from Ox, and Cat's grace from that other armor! I will exchange it now for Yuan-ti, but I will keep it, for pickpocketing! Maybe it succeeded cause of guidance, and other bonuses, or it was nat 20 case, forgot to look after!
The only ending I watched because I never will go this pathway. What an interesting thing to know that Gale becomes evil when he becomes God!!! I remember my first ending Gale was so bugged he would only say his uisual line in the epilogue. Second ending I ascended him willingly. I noticed he became so stale and not Gale like....... arrogance twice as high and nothing I liked about the old dorky Gale I romanced and loved. He didn't keep his word either until forced upon him to ascend as well, which would make the ending however we like to fantasize but I prefer a solid written ending. Knowing this on top of that, I really like my instincts were true to never let the man get his hands on the crown. BECAUSE I WILL AND I WILL DOMINATE THE WORLD! That said I am still halfway on my evil Durge run (No idea how it will end yet!!!)
I wouldn't call him "evil", by his own definition he seems to become a neutral deity, you have to keep in mind here you're listening to Raphael projecting whatever he imagines will happen onto us :p - I do have the full videos of Gale's endings when he ascends (as a companion), I'd invite you to check them out to get the full picture 👀
so does he fuel Gale with even more power given such ambitions? or he has to be his "follower" for that to happen? i'm not that familiar with dnd gods rule
@@Saretz I'm not sure myself but I imagine when you are a god of an aspect like that, you do get some power from everyone that exhibit's your aspect to a big degree but I Imagine Gods get a bigger boost from actual worshippers. Like, I imagine Mystra gets power from all magic users that use the weave, hence why she is one of the most powerful gods. I can see Gale becoming a very powerful God if given time to do so and if he can control his ambition.
In D&D gods gain some power from worship, and some from "petioners," i.e. souls of worshippers who come to your realm after dying. In any case, a cambion isn't likely to be able to play chess on the same level as Gale, whose mere avatar has higher stats than him. So, imho this is one of the rare ways in which Larian kinda messed up.
@@Dan-vo7vc Oh yeah i remember something about it now, that's why a god(ess) of let's say humans would probably be stronger than lets say Lolth whos domain are drow (as far as i remember population sizes of both races). I think they did a great job of given us a way to outplay the "devil" and if i remember correctly from the very first meeting with Raphael, Gale's ambitions were to do exactly that
If WotC was smart, theyd capitalize on Bg3s success, by making the God of Ambition Gale canon, and bumpin Raphael up to be more widely uawd setting villian.
But not everyone makes Gale a god. By making that Cannon lore, it would imply that those that don't are now going against the established lore, meaning the aruguments that there is now a right and wrong way yo play would most likely start up The game is like a campaign, the player choices change the variables, but an individual d&d game someone plays, even in offical settings, does not garuntee any change to cannon lore no matter what outcomes and changes are made
@@AnnaMno1The events in the game are actually considered canon d&d lore now though, to my knowledge it's been established, the question remains as to which ones will be picked and referenced for future d&d games/stories
@@Saretz I can see that if they keep it to the general outline that a mindflayer attack occured and was taken out by a group of heroes can be cannon, but specifics should be left clouded in mystery, different bards have spread different versions of the story, and the truth has been hidden within the various tales 'No one knows the full truth but what remains consitant is these heroes were infected by the mind flayers. You see there was a gythanki artifact which held a person contained inside protecting them' 'Oh, I heard it was a prince' 'No, that's wrong I heard it was another mindflayer' Stuff like that, legends that can both hold and shroud the truth allowing the story to be cannon without preventing anyone's story to be offically wrong

I love the fact that Raphael is a joke in the fandom and no one buying his bravado. That Karsus crown is cool powerful thing, cannot deny it but... It just grant you power equal to minor deity at best. Realistically equal to demigod. Gale will cause chaos? Phahaha, good luck with other gods. Ciric and Bane tried all of that many times, and both of them are much more powerful, talented, ambitious and ruthless than Gale would ever become.
Isn't Raphael plotting to use Gale's ascension to usurp the gods.... Ambition? He's thinks Gale is playing into his hands but it sounds like he is playing himself into Gale's.
I don't know - sounds like a pretty primo ending to me (the Gods were utterly useless in the battle with the Absolute - and the one Goddess who played a part in the battle expected Gale to blow himself up - not for the welfare of the innocent mortals who would fall victim to the Absolute - but so she could maintain her own divine status; claiming that Gale would redeem himself in her eyes if he did as she commanded him to do). The Gods want mortals to risk their own lives fighting battles the Gods can handle on their own with little to no risk to their own immortal lives?; then good on the mortal who obtains Godhood and eventually tears the Gods asunder (serves them right for being self serving pricks!)
Unfortuantely I believe the gods not doing anything in general, is part of the "deities don't meddle in mortal affairs" package, personally though, I think that scenario would make for an interesting storyline
@@Saretz Oh, I get that - however, considering the threat the Absolute posed to the Gods themselves, you'd think it would be less a mortal affair and more a Gods affair - seeing as a God is only as powerful as the amount of worshipers they have (which the Absolute would be stealing from them in droves if left unchecked). One would think the Gods would play a more active role in taking down the threat than they had.
@ Saretz How do you achieve this cutscene? Is it by recruiting gale as a companion (not an origin) and having him pursue becoming the god of ambition? Do you take the Raphael deal then betray him, not take it at all, steal the hammer? What should I aim to do to get this one!
yeah i didn't get this. i killed literally every party member as soon as i met them. Gale died in the portal at the start, idiot was absorbed into a rock, lol d'psh't. i was the solo survivor as was intended.
So I suppose this may be actually the worst possible ending (even though we don't get to see it), with Gale potentially causing divine war in the future that will bring ruin to everything
imo, the worst outcome is remaining under Bhaal and taking control of the Netherbrain 😅 if you play as Gale origin, Mystra kills him once he becomes a God, so it's not like he could just run rampant and cause war with the Gogs... I think what Raphael meant is that more mortals will be... more ambitious 😂 it could be a good thing, it could be a bad thing... but a Bhaal spawn controlling a Netherbrain... yeah... idk...
@@RainCraver I suppose it really depends on the long terms effects, maybe the bhaalspawn will cause ruin for 50 years and then get killed or something, while in this case nothing might be happening for hundreds of years...untill disaster struck, so, who knows
This is all Raphael's fantasy, it's what he wishes will happen but there's no guarantee it actually will. Basically he's salty Gale snatched his prize from him and now he's making up this theory to cope Raphael pretends to be some super-genius mastermind but he really isn't. If you give him the crown you get a different cutscene where he boasts how he's on the cusp of conquering all of Hell and ending the Blood War and beginning a multiversial conquest, while in reality he hasn't even conquered Avernus, the first hell yet. As you go down the layers of Hell each ruler is exponentially stronger than the previous one and at the bottom there's Asmodeus who is ridiculously more powerful than any of the archdevils. The most likely scenario is that giving Raphael the crown makes him the ruler of Avernus and that's it. He's not as smart as he thinks
sounds like copium, that's not really how the pantheon works. They do infighting all the time, usually its just a plot excuse to explain away rules changes between editions or special campaign mechanics such as the time of troubles or spellplague (ie limited spell or divine casting rules). It almost always involves killing off mystra in some way (shes died what four times already) Besides that Asmodeus would probably wouldn't look to kindly on a lowly cambion attempting to make a play on divinity.
I mean yeah player still won, because there's no way that Raphael can beat Asmodeus anyway. Raph's daddy kept that crown as a display piece for a reason... because it's legitimately pointless in the face of Asmodeus. Then on the god end, there's Ao, who legit just does whatever they want because they're the strongest even without followers. So really....nothings gonna change Raph.
@@Saretzwith the crown he may be, we don't know. Raphael with crown is definitely less powerful than gale(Raphael doesn't have the Karsite weave). The only thing I'm sure about is that he's too overconfident, he's not even on the level of a normal pit fiend and thinks that with the crown he can dethrone asmodeus...Mephistoteles dwarfs him in both power, knowledge and intelligence and didn't use the crown... Why? Because he's wise enough to know Asmodeus would crush him.
It's best to start a new thread, last conversation had 45 replies from both sides :) I was talking about chest mechanic in DOS2 earlier, how to combine telekinesis and throwing chests at enemies, and I said there wasn't one that is indestructible before Driftwood in act 2, but I just found one in that cave below fort, where those fire slugs are! It's in the ground, had to dig it up, but now I have about 400 weight in it already! Only thing is, it takes away from gameplay at the end of the game, cause the chest becomes so heavy, that black holes could rival it, guaranteed one-shot with ANY enemy!
@@Saretz Yeah, please don't! I forgot how OP is that strategy, you know that fight in the harbor in the first act? Once you open the front gate, one more way to escape through brute force.. I didn't even had to get out of sneak mode, dealt with the whole group with one character and that chest! Adding barrels, boxes, other chests, specialy those reinforced ones, I got over 2000 weight, enough to one-shot almost everybody, and I'm not even halfway through act 1! I'll leave the chest on the boat, once I get there, and use it only in VERY special cases! And yeah, don't know if you are aware of a character in act 2, Corbin Day, if he joins your boat (has to survive fight at the docks, all the way north, he's only neutral person at that fight, keep him alive at all costs!) If you sell him items, when you change acts, he will upgrade their level accordingly! That only really helps when you go from act 3 to 4, cause from act 2 to 3, he raises levels to 9, and by that time you have much better equipment, but when you go to last act, he raises level to 18! That's great for unique items, specially that lower levels! And if you combine it with ancient artifact, MORE bonuses! Crafting is my favorite part of DOS2, adding poison damage to EVERY weapon I find, by combining it with ooze barrel! The best items for me, are knockdown arrows, for neutralising targets when you take their physical armor, and charming arrows for when you take their magic armor! Pity there are no beehives after act 2. that's why I stock up there, cause empty honey jar+beehive equal honey, then add arrowheads, for charming arrows!

Once as them selves, and then they can use Fane's shapeshifting mask to change race, to get more rewards! It doesn't matter if they change race to their own, they're still different person of that race! So 20 GOOD pieces of equipment (belts and rings only), for 3000 gold! You get some of your gold back when you sell the equipment you discarded when you get that new batch! This was usually the moment my crew grew MUCH more powerful, cause of that gear, just in time for the fight with dragon, Alexander, and Dallis on the boat, when you go to act 2!
Wait, THERE ARE POST-CREDIT SCENES?! Are there more?! And wait, what if you actually give the crown to Raphael? Is there a scene for it? (edit: ua-cam.com/video/jh5tepLanxk/v-deo.html ) ... oh, and what if you promist the crown to Raphael and THEN give crown to Mystra?!
To be honest if Gale becomes a God he wouldn´t be that strong, in fact he would be weak as hell in divinity terms, he would be classified as a Quasi Deity, a rank of divinity that is even lower than the lesser deity, the rank that Bane, Bhaal and Myrkul have, to put in these manners, if Demogorgon or Asmodeus want him dead, there´s a great chance that they might achieve it.
Actually, the dead three are themselves quasi-deities, as last we understand. In BG3, they could also be demigods. They'd be more powerful if they had more worshippers, but since they tend to kill each other and themselves, and our party wipes their cults out, they're likely to not survive.
@@Saretz Probably not, his domain Is kinda ambigous and situational, for example you can pray to the God of Rain every day in order to have a basic life necesity "Water", but most likely you would only pray once a year if not less to the God of ambition, really its a really weak domain, and is something that cannot compete against the racial Gods, for example you would see all the elves worship Corellon Larerhian because he Is the God of all Elvenkind and the elves will worship him because Is its creator but you can also see other races worship him because he is also a God of Magic and arts, or take Moradin as an example, he Is the God of all Dwarvenkind but other races worship him because he Is also the God of Family and forging, or Bahamut who Is the God of all Metallic Dragonkind but he Is also worshiped by other races because he Is also the God of Justice, or even Tiamat who Is the goddess of the Chromatic Dragonkind but she Is also a deity of power that can offer in the form of greed, riches and strenght, in summary a God of ambition sounds amazing but It would lack of lots of followers, mostly the other Gods I mention offer basic things that we require in each day of our life and there would only be a few people who would take a path of ambition, Ambition Is as situational as the domains of the Dead Three, for example Bhaal Is a God of Murder or Bane a God of Tyranny Is really unlikely that a lot of people would worship someone who offer that, the most succesful Gale could be would probably reach lesser deity status, and that only if he does His Best.
@@omargerardolunamorales217 I don't think they get power only from prayers though, no? Ambition can be a constant drive for some people and once word of a god of ambition came out, I think many would jump on the wagon. As Gale says himself, in just those 6 months, "there are already several shrines built in That" (which is scary to think about) and "a prominent temple under construction in Amn", that sounds moderately successful for an infant god 👀

Yeah I don't think he's all wrong here, I doubt he would rise whatsoever, but the part where Gale messes things up definitely a possibility

I think they did a great job of given us a way to outplay the "devil" and if i remember correctly from the very first meeting with Raphael, Gale's ambitions were to do exactly that
@@urazz7739 That's my general guess too
If WotC was smart, theyd capitalize on Bg3s success, by making the God of Ambition Gale canon, and bumpin Raphael up to be more widely uawd setting villian.
I could see that happening
But not everyone makes Gale a god. By making that Cannon lore, it would imply that those that don't are now going against the established lore, meaning the aruguments that there is now a right and wrong way yo play would most likely start up
The game is like a campaign, the player choices change the variables, but an individual d&d game someone plays, even in offical settings, does not garuntee any change to cannon lore no matter what outcomes and changes are made
@@AnnaMno1The events in the game are actually considered canon d&d lore now though, to my knowledge it's been established, the question remains as to which ones will be picked and referenced for future d&d games/stories
@@Saretz I can see that if they keep it to the general outline that a mindflayer attack occured and was taken out by a group of heroes can be cannon, but specifics should be left clouded in mystery, different bards have spread different versions of the story, and the truth has been hidden within the various tales
'No one knows the full truth but what remains consitant is these heroes were infected by the mind flayers. You see there was a gythanki artifact which held a person contained inside protecting them'
'Oh, I heard it was a prince'
'No, that's wrong I heard it was another mindflayer'
Stuff like that, legends that can both hold and shroud the truth allowing the story to be cannon without preventing anyone's story to be offically wrong
@@AnnaMno1 Except a new God is not something that can be so easily forgotten. Choices will have to be made, even if it's the lack of a choice closing off options.
Tav should be able to become a god using the crown instead
Eh, that would require some extra knowledge which Tav's completely unaware of :c
He's able! In the Absolute ending Tav wears the crown.
@@marineone-sixteen5311 that's not actual divinity though, you are still going to die of age, you only gain command over a massive army, and you can't access the realm of the gods

😅
No idea why, but I got this ending even though I killed Raphael. Felt bugged.
most likely is
Umm... You're welcome...
lol
Isn't Raphael plotting to use Gale's ascension to usurp the gods.... Ambition?
He's thinks Gale is playing into his hands but it sounds like he is playing himself into Gale's.
XD
Ambition the original sin?!?!?!?! We getting a sequel?
Very unlikely, but who knows
And no one will care because to make that game is beyond any mortal. You're just a cutscene. Enjoy it while you can.
Ahahhaha
@@madamefluffy4788True I suppose, maybe they underestimated the threat, or maybe they knew the problem would get solved without intervention
God hes hot
😳
And he's canonically a bottom!
@ Saretz How do you achieve this cutscene? Is it by recruiting gale as a companion (not an origin) and having him pursue becoming the god of ambition? Do you take the Raphael deal then betray him, not take it at all, steal the hammer? What should I aim to do to get this one!
You make companion Gale a god and keep the deal with Raph up without going to the house of Hope

😨😨😨
So I suppose this may be actually the worst possible ending (even though we don't get to see it), with Gale potentially causing divine war in the future that will bring ruin to everything
All conjectures, but in that eventuality, probably yes xD
imo, the worst outcome is remaining under Bhaal and taking control of the Netherbrain 😅
if you play as Gale origin, Mystra kills him once he becomes a God, so it's not like he could just run rampant and cause war with the Gogs...
Basically he's salty Gale snatched his prize from him and now he's making up this theory to cope
Raphael pretends to be some super-genius mastermind but he really isn't.
@@exantiuse497most likely, yes, but like I said in previous reply, we can only make assumptions/theories
sounds like copium, that's not really how the pantheon works.
Let him cook (c)

I mean yeah player still won, because there's no way that Raphael can beat Asmodeus anyway. Raph's daddy kept that crown as a display piece for a reason... because it's legitimately pointless in the face of Asmodeus. Then on the god end, there's Ao, who legit just does whatever they want because they're the strongest even without followers. So really....nothings gonna change Raph.
He's coping
Bro, this dude is not even on Zariel's power level.
You think even with the crown he wouldn't?
@@Saretzwith the crown he may be, we don't know. Raphael with crown is definitely less powerful than gale(Raphael doesn't have the Karsite weave). The only thing I'm sure about is that he's too overconfident, he's not even on the level of a normal pit fiend and thinks that with the crown he can dethrone asmodeus...Mephistoteles dwarfs him in both power, knowledge and intelligence and didn't use the crown... Why? Because he's wise enough to know Asmodeus would crush him.

How so?
It's best to start a new thread, last conversation had 45 replies from both sides :)
I was talking about chest mechanic in DOS2 earlier, how to combine telekinesis and throwing chests at enemies, and I said there wasn't one that is indestructible before Driftwood in act 2, but I just found one in that cave below fort, where those fire slugs are! It's in the ground, had to dig it up, but now I have about 400 weight in it already! Only thing is, it takes away from gameplay at the end of the game, cause the chest becomes so heavy, that black holes could rival it, guaranteed one-shot with ANY enemy!
Yeah the last thread was getting crowded xD.
I never tried the chest strategy myself as I didn't want to make the game too easy
@@zoranhorvat8284Nope, I know the npc, but I had no idea about that item selling trick

@@Saretz D'on't know if you know this, but there's one trick in DOS2 with equipment, and the well (after you finish the maze), cast rain on the well, and then each character can get reward FIVE times, for a 150 gold in fee each time, off course!
Idk sounds like cope to me.
cause it very likely is :p
Wait, THERE ARE POST-CREDIT SCENES?!
Are there more?!
And wait, what if you actually give the crown to Raphael? Is there a scene for it? (edit: ua-cam.com/video/jh5tepLanxk/v-deo.html )
... oh, and what if you promist the crown to Raphael and THEN give crown to Mystra?!
I also have another one uploaded myself, and yes there are post credits scenes, not only with Raphael, the one you showed is the default one.
I wouldn't be so sure, ambition seems like quite the big domain to take over
On Gale's beginnings? Sure, but his domain is quite prevalent so he will steadily grow stronger over the years.
