I really like how his comment about luring in Mol by letting her win also applies to the PC in that moment. By helping Mol to win, the PC also is lured in with the idea of being able to best him. They did a great job writing him as a manipulative bastard.
Yes BUT the fun thing about Raphael is that he genuinely IS a bit of a loser who completely underestimated the situation he was trying to "take advantage" of. Made even better that it's Gortash, a person he raised, who set all this into motion in the first place after getting one over on Raphael's much more powerful father. Raphael is running to keep up the whole time, and whoa boy is he loosing. =p
No matter what you do, if you help Mol win the game or cause her to lose it, Raphael wins. By winning, Mol's confidence is bolstered to a level where she thinks she can outwit Raphael again and again. Which of course is false, it just makes her cocky and easy to manipulate. By losing, it shakes her confidence, sows doubt in her own abilities and cleverness, which makes it all the easier for Raphael to find an opening to exploit.
Raphael telling Mol to "guard your Mystra or come for my Cyric" is such a wonderful little moment of writing I completely missed. Cyric is the one who murdered Mystra and caused the Spellplague that undid magic for a period of time. Cambion Raphael using Cyric to attack Tiefling Child Mol's Mystra is a wonderfully satisfying irony
The after Isobel fight is a reference to one of the souls in the House of Hope I think! I recognized it when he mentioned Kethorics army from a long time ago. The Moonrise Towers' architect.
Yup. He built the towers so tall they could "dry the tears of Selune" but when the land was attacked by Shar and Ketheric defected he begged Raphael to give him an army of demons to kill the Sharrans. They worked too well, yet Ketheric's contingency plan came into effect and the land was subsumed by shadow (also somewhat explains why the Harper and Sharran corpses you find in the shadowlands are both killed at the same time, why Yurgir is still in the mausoleum trying to hunt down the last Justiciars that fled into the Shar Gauntlet and that he probably sucked the souls of the Harpers, Sharrans, Selunites and the architect's soul value itself).
When I found him on my recent playthrough, I destroyed the chair he was sitting on as a prank. Not only was it hilarious, it also triggered the second dialogue instead of the first one.
Pretty sure this broke recently? Every time I get to Last Light Inn now, even if its the first time I'm getting there on that playthrough, Mol is already standing up telling me to leave her alone and Raphael proceeds with the "After Isobel Fight" variant...

I got the scene on my first playthrough as a rogue, but not this time around. The only difference between the two is that this time, I actually gave money to Mol as an investment for her to reach the Gate. My guess is that with the extra money, she feels confident enough in herself that she won't give Raphael the time of day, so he is just sitting alone in the table on my second playthrough and thus I can only do the second version as well

I think the second one is actually more interesting. Calling himself our "better" is surprisingly candid of him, and he hints at the fact that he used Yurgir to defeat Ketheric's army of dark justiciars before trapping the orthon. The architect of moonrise sold his soul to Raphael for it. I'm actually a bit stunned he mentions it. I felt so proud finding this out throughout the game lol

You need to talk to Raphael at the Last Light Inn. He's only there if Mol is still alive and if you haven't yet explored a certain other part of the Act 2 map.
