This guy was right. The police would never catch him as he was too smart and watched too much true crime. He made no mistakes at all, apart from being caught on CCTV, leaving his DNA at the scene and getting blood all over his bag (and then keeping the bag and even taking it with him when he was interviewed by the police). The guy is a criminal genius!

He watched csi... have u seen it. They pull up to a scene there’s gunshot wounds to the forehead and after 2 minutes of hard contemplation the detective says I think he’s been shot 😂🤣😂 so I’m not surprised this “true crime” buff was so sloppy. Yhea all countries have news outlets that don't care what they write or its effects just that it sells. This crap happens a lot, thankful not as much as it used to but still far to much. The sad thing is they only do it because it sells to the people who buy their crap which says something really really sad about a large section of society and how they like to see the world and why they believe such rubbish like this. People who think like that believe they're safer than the people who don't act like they do, that things like this will never happen to them because they don't behave "badly" or like an animal, etc. Which isn't even sort of true if you look at the numbers most murders, assaults occur either in the home or are committed by someone you know. Let's hope it continues to change until no one gets judged for the way they decide to live their lives.

It depends where on the spectrum, this kid definitely knew the difference.
Although it's not common, the upper end of the spectrum is a literal nightmare sometimes. Which it's not that they don't understand exactly what right and wrong is. It's just their perspective of it morally can vary drastically. As to their perspective of the outcome of situations as well. So right and wrong to us, can be quite different to their interpretation. Granted also someone would have stepped in in this situation before he got to this age if he was that far on the spectrum as well. So again, this kid had no excuse. Just keep in mind there are parents out there doing all they can with every PT, OT, LT and so on programs, therapy, occupations and schooling with an ASD individual on the upper spectrum and they will still act like a "dick".

    • @lordbiscuitthetossable5352
      @lordbiscuitthetossable5352 Рік тому +60

As someone with ASD; I can confirm that at least from my perspective I tend to adopt a pretty narrow view of the world as default, which is usually why I feel constantly consuming different media is super important to constantly remind myself of different perspectives and experiences rather than only what I'm interested in at the given time. While our disposition toward obsession certain can be a contributing factor, it's by no means something exclusive to the condition, just it's one road leading to that of a killer.
Also, as someone with ASD I can both understand and be *horrified* by some of the explanations that come out of these disturbed individuals. Like, this guy had a simplified version of the world where he dreamed about and normalized his act, committed it after several failed stalking attempts, then went about his life like an eager teenager who just got off a hard shift at work. Or Alek Minassian who talked about "a revolution against Gary's and Stacys" like he was talking affectionately about a hobby, somehow completely pushing aside the fact and consequences of having killed 11 people through a drive-through. These guys totally knew the difference but had instead chosen to "indulge" this hobby until it was just normal.

allie5 You have no idea whatsoever what is going on inside his head. You like to think you do, but that's just wishful thinking. The next 3 or 4 years in his life are crucial, as he grows out of childhood. Often big changes occur. Mental disorders of any form cause problems for the sufferer, no point pretending they don't, and being a "dick" as you so uncharitably put it, is normal for people who lack the social skills of a totally normal person. Totally normal people generally are not "dicks". The unfortunate remainder don't always understand how to react appropriately in many social situations. You are possibly putting too much pressure on him. You are underplaying the disability of autism, it is a serious matter that can lead to difficulties in life, but as you say it is not at all synonymous with being a criminal. I think most people understand that.

Theres a difference between having intrusive thoughts about harming someone and having a genuine desire to. Intrusive thoughts, by definition, are unwanted and disturbing to the individual. The guy wanted to kill and lied about it, but I don't blame the psychologist for not seeing that. Most people that have scary thoughts and impulses come for help to NOT act on them.

Good comment. I have some experience with intrusive thoughts. Which I learned all about, by working with the home study program, "Attacking Anxiety & Depression." Intrusive thoughts are the mind's way of distracting one's mind from ones true worries. One example the program gave, came from this successful businessman. Whenever he was crossing this one bridge, he would start to think about going home, and stab or drown his children. Which would horrify him of course. Leaving him wondering if there's something wrong with his mind or character or whatever. Even though he knew, he would never act on these thoughts, they plagued him anyway.
What it really was, was the bridge itself, and the fact he was on his way to work. Since he would naturally enough be thinking about work, stressful enough right there, once he hit the bridge, he felt "trapped" by it. He had no control. Because this bridge was very long and narrow, and imposing with its many girders, and warning signs. So to take his mind off all these stressors, his mind would distract itself by throwing up these intrusive thoughts. Needless to say, after working with the program, he gained control of his thoughts or reactions, and felt much better. Just like the program did for me. 👍

I was on Fluoxetine for over 20 years, and am currently on three different antidepressants. I have an interest in real crime (obviously, since I'm watching this video). I'm nerdy. It's important to keep in mind that NONE of these characteristics are indicative of someone likely to kill someone. I cannot stress enough that depression is not an indicator for a murderer.
What is an indicator for a murderer is telling your psychiatrist that you fantasize about killing someone, and that you've actually started to carry out your fantasy. In the US, that's what we call being a danger to yourself or others, and is enough to get you involuntarily committed to a mental institution where you can (theoretically) get the help you need to avoid acting on those thoughts.

I know a ton of people with Asperger's, I have pretty bad intrusive thoughts, anxiety and ADHD. I've met a lot of people in the autistic spectrum, or with BPD, and with severe depression. I've also volunteered for years in the entertainment department for the mentally handicapped.
While being finally talked about enough, mental health is still frequently exploited in legal cases as a justification of people's actions. Even though I believe no sane human would ever enjoy committing a violent crime, and I still think we should study criminal psychology more to understand the phenomenon I hate that some mental illnesses are to this day misrepresented and demonized by medias and fed to the general public as some kind of freak phenomena.
Asperger's doesn't make you kill people. What kind of line of defence is that? Autistic people don't go around town with machine guns blasting away!

Thank goodness he had a set of housekeys on him, which we found after he let me talk him through going through his pockets with him. "Ok Check that pocket next. Nothing? Ok what about that one?"
I told him hopefully his friends had his wallet too cuz he was mumbling, "my wallet is no where."
I guess he and his "friends" had decided to book a hotel in town instead of going home. Judging by his lack of shoes, they'd gone up to the hotel and he went back out intending on returning not long later.
Cost about £70 to get him home and get us back to our night, but that guy.... The hotel wouldn't let him in and he was literally passed out on their front steps while it was cold out.
So I told my friend we weren't leaving him.
It was hard to get an answer out of where he lived cuz he was SOOOOO drunk, but after he repeated it throughout different moments of mumbling I figured that's gotta be the address. Fuckin miles away!
I talked a taxi into letting him in and that he wouldn't be sick and we were his friends.
Thank goodness to that taxi driver and one of my male friends agreeing to accompany me in the taxi.
I walked that guy to his door and made sure he locked it behind him. I was like, "don't forget, lock it" waited for the locking noise, and we went back to town.
Can you imagine though? He would have just been left to sleep and possibly die on the front steps of a hotel or elsewhere. Goodness.
Different people, including the door man, said he'd been outside about an hour by that point. I can only guess, judging by his state, that his friends were too drunk to remember him or were passed out in the room. He was probably so confused when he woke up the next day back at home no phone nothing.

An interesting case with a very....unfair prison sentence? The guy sounds like a narcissistic sex-fiend. Being in a sex filled jailhouse where he's interviewed enough to get an ego is a bit....sad? (ب_ب) I'm usually all for studying killers and holding off on death sentences to allow the killer to stew in their thoughts, regrets and losses...but this seems more like a reward for bad behavior.

Ok glad I’m not the only one who thinks that this guy is enjoying his punishment a little too much. They should just put the guy down. He obviously would’ve done it again if he wasn’t caught, and who’s to say he won’t when he’s released.
