The most frustrating thing about liars like Brendan is that they lie about the dumbest things that they don't have to lie about.
Yup, it's called compulsive lying. I had a friend in high school like that. Even the smallest most mundane thing would be lied about, it's so infuriating.
The thing with Brendan is that he may have genuinely forgotten some of the things in his life. Would you really put it past him forgetting what that orca documentary even was? Just because it's a sub-category doesn't mean the cringes inspired are bantamweight; Schaub rearranges internal organs in people subjected to him. So powerful and sudden are the cringes triggered that my pancreas now sits a full 2 inches higher than the era BS (Before Schaub) and my spleen is now on the other side of my body entirely.

Brendan is the most unfunny person I have heard attempt to do stand up. Everyone that I have seen do worse were like 5 years old and it was obvious they were just doing their best and we're just practicing and you give them pity applause and all that. But this man knew how to deliver a joke kind of and knew how to set up jokes but the material and the punchlines were just terrible. It wasn't that it was just not funny but it was cringe because he was really trying so hard and he got a platform when he should not of had one. If Rogan would not of plugged him in the world would not have had to deal with that waste of time and embarrassment. I don't even consider Joe Rogan that funny and his stand up never did anything for me. Daniel Tosh is funny. Joe Rogan is not. Period. Same with Bill Burr, he just isn't very funny and that goes for Dave Chappelle too. Just not very funny. The jokes are mellow and played out. Listening to Brendan and Dave Chappelle is the same for me. Both don't make me laugh. But Daniel Tosh makes me laugh. Dave is better than Brandon but not much. I think there are a lot better comics out there than Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, Joe Rogan, and more.

That's how addiction works though. You're not in control of your mental faculties when you need to drink everyday just to hit your baseline. To top it off, this is a guy who has probably been knocked around quite a bit. Brain damage ain't no joke, and based on what i'm hearing about his drug use and his alcohol abuse, it sounds like he's compensating for loose screw or two. He puts himself out there, so I think it's fair game for people to make videos about him or talk about him online, but if we're saying we're better people than he is, we should probably acknowledge the high probability that this is someone with mental issues.

Brendan wants to be something he's not, and instead of becoming that person he chooses to fake it until he makes it. You can't act like you're an architect, then go design a building, have it fall apart and pretend you knew what you were doing. He lies because he knows he doesn't deserve it.
Kinda seems like he thought he could shortcut his way into Standup by having connections and "acting the part" for long enough. The problem is that only gets you so far. He has already had opportunities that 99% of people in the industry dream of.
You still have to do a degree of *work* even if you do have a leg up on the competition. If he was serious about being a comic he would be doing everything he can by traveling on the road and performing at smaller venues.
But his entire approach came off as if it was just a hobby.

The fact that Joe Rogan AND Theo Von stopped being around and supporting him speaks volumes to how bad things have gotten. Joe and Theo where always the nicest guys to him and always tried to push him to be better. Theo trying to get him into rehab was his last straw no doubt in my mind. His last desperate attempt to help his friend failed. I'm surprised Joe, Theo, and CO haven't tried to intervene with him, same with Bert.

As someone that has taken Ritalin and Adderall all my life, that is an insane amount. I had to stop taking it because I felt like it was affecting my cardiovascular health and that was just with 10mg IR once a day. He probably feels physically awful when he takes it and mentally drained and depressed when he doesn’t.
When I was a kid they put me on 30mg 2x daily. Was awful. Most of the time I’d hide them and pretend like I took but they’d find out eventually bc of my hyperactive/ impossible to concentrate or retain information at school. As soon as I turned 18 I quit taking them. Was depressed for weeks but felt so much better after. I now in my 30’s have cardiovascular issues. I’m convinced it was from that taking throughout the most important period of growth mentally and physically until an adult. I’d never put my kids on it idc. So dangerous when it comes to brain, heart, even mental health side effects. It’s wicked stuff man

I had an SO whom has Concussion Trauma. So familiar with this. Why he says a lot of things that were just said. Or the repeating parrot phenomenon. Cause he is in thought and cant listen and process what others are saying at the sametime. He thinks when he is repeating someone else words that they are his own. He is thinking of a joke or words someone else says something those words travel into his brain and come back out through his mouth in a way that actually seems like he formed that thought and those words. It can be heartbreaking when you realize that it happened to someone you actually care about and it set them back emotionally to a teenager.

I actually know someone addicted to Adderall and they do like 75mg or so a day. It's usually XR mixed with IR though. The side effects she experiences are nuts. She'll fly off the handle over the slightest things, say extremely mean and hurtful stuff to her partner, she's been fired from her job, etc. I couldn't imagine what 120mg a day would be like. The funny thing is, I think both scenarios have an equal likelihood of being true. Either he's actually doing that much adderall which explains his over the top cringe/asshole behavior, or he's lying because he thinks for some reason it'll make him look cool.
The best part of this story is that Theo Von, who is a talented comedian and a genuinely nice guy, has not been tainted by his association with Brendan Schaub and Joe Rogan’s army of clowns.

I've done it after being on more than 90mg for a year, and yes, it does cause issues, depression being one of them... but it was less of an issue compared to what the adderall was causing me.
@@yamahakid450f same here from 4 to 5 30's a day to nothing , i was basically useless for 10 days to 2 weeks , granted it was not nearly as bad as xanax or heroin withdrawal but you're not going to be able to go to work while withdrawing. the PAWS(post acute withdrawal syndrome) isnt THAT horrible though.

It all makes sense now. I was using 90-120 mg of Adderall EVERY DAY for about a year. I had a big gig right out of school. I felt like i needed that enhancement to perform at my job)
My marriage ended ugly (that was inevitable in hindsight) and I lost a really good job which could affect my career badly at any turn (small field). I have a little more compassion for the guy now. However, I didn't cut off every single person that I talked to, I didn't cheat on my wife. That's for starters. Wish the guy the best and that he will recover

Glad you’re better, I’ve experienced something similar but less extreme in the past. It was supposed to make me productive and perform better, the opposite happened. I remember studying for hours on a test, achieving my goal and afterward being too scared to leave my room to see my roommates who were my closest friends; standing silently by my door listening for movements to make sure the coast is clear before sneaking beers into my room so I could fall asleep
Not to mention, he definitely seems like he has some measure of dyslexia which can't help with his brain fart comments

Theos such a good guy, he knew Brendon was a on a downward spiral and distanced himself. He even tried to help Brendan, he didnt just abandon him. Addiction is no joke and Theo talking about that and the 9ther stuff he went through is like that book, chicken soup for the soul. It really grounds you in humanity
Theo had his own mental issues. That is why he was always down south at home. Coming to LA to do the pod became a burden for him physically and mentally. He said this all himself.
