Do balls always just randomly fall from your ceiling?😂 4:43
I was wondering the same thing! 😄😄
glitch in the matrix?
4:43 those three balls magically appeared, looks like a ball return from the ceiling lol
1:07 - what’s your setup with the hitting mat? Looks like it is a wrist/ elbow saver!!! 🚑would love to create the same setup
Your previous tip, dealing with pulled wedges and short irons, has changed my entire game. Standing closer to the ball (the PROPER distance, Duh!) so that the entire sole is on the ground, has resulted in straighter shots, reclaimed distance that I lost with shorter clubs, and even straighter shots with the longer irons/hybrids, which are always easy for me to slice/hook. Thanks!
Great video, supposed hybrid is the easiest club…but I sliced them like crazy. And, I can hit irons no problem. With this tip, I cured my slice….now I tend to pull them just tiny bits. Keep these tips coming, thank you 🙏 😊
Great easy to follow tips, gonna try them today at the range. Thanks!
Great Advice
Especially on the Keeping it Low all the way through
Only makes sense
👍
Can’t wait to try the three different angles of Swing
Great video Matt...your tips always work!
Got me a set of hybrid woods last fall and looking forward to using this drill and put’em in the fairway!
Great video when I first got my hybrid I didn't trust to leave the face sat as open as it seemed to want to sit at address and all I did was low left pulls and bad strikes when I trusted the open face it appeared to have at address I started to hit lovely straight shots.
Hey Mr. Shortgame I remember you doing a review of the Lag Shot. Have you seen the new Performance Golf Straight Stick training aid ? Was wondering if you could do a review of this training aid.
I just let the club sit naturally on the ground and then grip it from there.
Yep that's how I finally figured it out
The timing of this video is crazy. This is EXACTLY what i am going though with hybrids and driver. Will try out these fixes
You’re great, man. Thanks for all the content.
That is great advice and love it, keep them coming
Also could you do an old style golf club challenge 1 day, I’d love to see you hit some old clubs around a course and maybe compare it to newer clubs at same course 😊
and also your videos are very helpful as i used to struggle with an over the top swing
Love the swing low idea. I’m hitting hybrids, 5wood, 3wood, and driver low on the face.
Your videos are always so incredibly helpful! Thank you! :)
Thank you. I rely on my hybrid(s) for many different shots, but I consistently hit them low and left...far, but way too left. And I always set up with the club face shut down. No longer! Can't wait to get out there with a neutral to open club face and watch the magic happen.
Very useful
🙏🏻
Deserves a second watch👍🏼
Great tips. I love hitting 3 and 5 woods off the the fairway. I’ve gotten rid of all my hybrids.
Thx so much lo e how you break things down
Thanks MSG another great vid
Great video, thanks... greetings from UK...
great video thanks. what is that hitting mat?
I miss the dozen golf mats, big net, and roosters hollering in the videos. :)
What is the mat you are hitting from? I love the little give it has when being struck with the club.
Playing Pebble when I graduate in May. Should be an exciting first tee shot
Awesome video! Now if I can just remember to do all 3 things when I'm playing...
0:09 Ha. When I played that course I had the exact same line, just driver in my hand and ended up on the fairway 20feet short of the green
Hi MrShort game, did i play golf with you on the Castle Course St.Andrews a few years ago.Take care,Stephen
Thanks Matt you learned me sump n you are the best love ya man
I hit hybrid off the first at Pebble and hit it into the bunker on the left (I'm a lefty)! Ha ha ha, I watched your opening and that memory came right back!
Along with alignment I find too for myself anyways just moving the ball back in my stance ever so slightly on driver / woods has pretty much eliminated my slice all together with square shoulders. My impact is way more consistent. Also, having the ball slightly closer to you so as if you are not super reaching or extending helps me swing more inside.
Lastly yeah some tee boxes are just angled off the fairway. I never use the tee markers to align with fairways bc if you hit a straight shot usually it will go into rough. Love the vids!
Yes. You're so right, I never thought I'd meet you here. How have you been doing?😊
man i like how your rocking the good good apparel keep it up man
What hitting mat insert are you using?
Good tip
Most are afraid of a left shot on hybrids but I’ve never had that issue as if the face etc is square it goes pretty straight
Shutting the face also promotes the leading edge to dig into the ground. Phil Mickelson emphasizes this in his book, The Secrets of the Short Game.
So you want the face shut?
Once again, exact mathematics from Mr. Short Game. 95 percent is exact science!
I'll set up square then step back and take a practice swing and when I step up to the ball the face has closed somehow during the practice swing. ..what's happening there?
This also applies to fairway woods?
Hi live the content
Well done brother...hybrids have always been a bit of a mystery, the part about keeping the clubhead traveling low through and after impact is absolutely true. I've always had the question mentally if hitting a hybrid leaned towards the way you hit an iron or the way you hit a fairway wood. I think it might be a bit more towards a fairway wood.
Nice Nike 90's mate, are they golf or nomal?
Can you do this with a fairway woods video!!!!!
At 4min 43sec god drops golf balls from the heavens to keep my man supplied, so he can keep dropping knowledge for the masses. Thank you golf gods. Respect the game and it will reward you.
Nice bouncy board!
4:40 lol what was that?
I don’t close the face of my hybrids and I don’t come outside, I just have an absolutely ugly swing, and my miss with a hybrid is left.
I duck hook my hybrids. Roll right over with them. The higher the stress level, the more I hook them. They're ok on the range but things change on the course.
Check your grip first to see if it’s too strong. The V’s formed between your index fingers and thumbs should point at your right eye for a right handed golfer and left for a left handed golfer. Then, if it truly is early rotation of the wrists, try to have the emblem of your glove point to target as long as possible. This will hold off rotation and fix some of the hooks you hit.
I see/hear a lot, that "PATH" produces sidespin (e.g. draws or fades), but Trackman data clearly shows sidespin is produced by face angle to path, not path. The PULL you hit is an example of this. The outside-in path started to the ball to the left, and the face was square to the path, producing a straight shot.
Haha, yes. You're so right, I never thought I'd meet you here. How have you been doing?🥰
Something really crazy happens in this video at around 4:40! Explain the UFO balls, Matt!
I hit my hybrids great. Got a 4 and and 5. Hit like 70% of them perfectly. My 4 and 5 irons, maybe 30%. Speaking of the first hole at Pebble Beach, I hit a 7 iron 2nd shot and hit the pin! Got a birdie. Unbelievable. A long time ago unfortunately.
My hybrid miss is a big high hook. It goes the right distance, just so far left you can’t find it.
4:44 Where the hell did those golf balls come from🤨😂?
pros rarely pack a hybrid. create more spin with a longer iron at the same distance
I just constantly top my 3 hybrid. Yes I know, it's poor weight transfer but as a high handicapper I have to resort to using my other clubs 😞😞😞😞
I has the same issue. Now I place 60% of my weight on my leed foot. I’m right handed so the weight is on my left foot at address. At first I put like 75% of the weight on the left just so I proved I was striking the ball cleanly. Made a huge difference. Then after a couple weeks I found a happy medium. Hope it helps.
I feel so cold out. Because each one of those shots is stuff I do lol
I hate my hybrid. I hit that low on the face and usually get a low hook as you describe
I had 22,25,28,32 hybrids but trying 25,30,35 now to save another club
What's with the balls dropping from the ceiling at 4:42 ?
Ideally you would want to be comfortable in a neutral position that way it’s one less variable to think of in your pre-shot routine.
Haha, yes. You're so right, I never thought I'd meet you here. How have you been doing?😀
What is the law for a broken window on the golf course?
Why would I start that with a hybrid
wait a second.. what was that edit at 4:43 LOL
Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself.
Are we just gonna ignore the magic golf balls
I always hook mine. Easy to hit but goes duck hook left
I was always doing the same till I learned to trust how open it sits at address the video is so correct it looks like everything should be a big fade slice but when it just sat on floor looking way open face I hit some lovely straight shots. Has been my favourite club the last 18 months. Good luck with yours 👍
did Michael Bay direct this? those balls dropping were something special
This is all correct. You must keep that face more open than you might think with hybrids. I however use a closed setup, so the whole feet alignment thing doesn’t apply to me. Jim Venetos baby.
Looks like you took a shortcut. Easy wedge over that tree.
That putter sounds so bad! Like it’s dead.
idk what ur talking about my face at address has no impact on my swing path. if i open the face like that i will hit a push. 20 degrees to the right.
Should we open the face for the driver too?
Try it at the range. Just not too open. You will increase swing speed because you will be utilizing the aerodynamics of the club. Just make sure you don't come over the top. Swing shallow and you should be able to hit a high draw with increased speed. It is the way to hit the longest bombs even with little effort or strain on your body.
iv always been told to treat a hybrid like an iron
95%???
Need a few bucks for a light????😁
Man. I disagree with trying to get “over the top” guys to take the club away more inside. Every single OTP golfer I’ve ever seen take the club back way too low, and inside. This promotes that loop in transition that makes them swing the club over, and across the ball. I still love your content, bro. It’s ok to disagree. lol
Luv level lies, no thick grass on ball! What “Good” is the cap label?
Yes. You're so right, I never thought I'd meet you here. How have you been doing?😊
You lost me with your "good" hat....
Uhh - You would never be obligated to pay for someone's broken window on a golf course unless there is video recording of you being malicious on purpose....
As soon as you purchase a house on a golf course you take the chance of accidental damage... Insurance rates are always higher on golf course subdivisions in comparison to houses of the same value not on a golf course specifically for this reason.
