Former school teacher, this is why we have classroom procedures and we enforce them. She wasn’t watching where she was going, she wasn’t managing her classroom. She was medical retirement waiting to happen.

Relating to story 2. On my first day of working at Dairy Queen (my first job), I worked with a 90-year-old lady named Sandy. I asked her where the buster bars were, and she happily showed me them and tried to reach them. Our location didn’t have a safety mat in the freezer, so she slipped, fell, and broke her hip. As she was wailing in pain, the asshole customers were yelling at me to get their buster bars while I was trying to help her, but soon we had an ambulance arrive. I never saw her again, and I hope she made it through the surgery. No one ever spoke of Sandy after that, and I quit 5 months later due to several labor laws being broken by management.

Story 1. The parents were super irresponsible. They should have taught their kid about money management and how to make & keep a budget, not how to pretend like there is a bottomless money pit. The parents did him no favors until the shock of hearing he spent the retirement account, so he finally got a taste of reality. The parents could have done that a lot sooner without ruining their life.

That's why my parents gave me a debit card, and had full control of the account. If I needed anything financially, I'd call my mother and she would provide, but there was an understanding that I should watch my spending, and my mother had the right to say "no" if she felt like I was taking advantage of my parent's generosity. By using a debit card, no credit was affected, and I knew exactly how much money I had left.

Yeah that was entirely their parents fault. They didn't even tell him it was their retirement just gave them a plastic card. It's hard enough as it is for a teen to manage their own money, it's fucking stupid giving them unlimited access to your life savings. They clearly knew about his bad spending and did nothing about it. Maybe they saw it as an investment and their son would finish college and get a high paying job but they didn't see the spending at the bar?

I relate to bits and pieces of most these stories. Funny perhaps how the universe and history is in repeat, but also unfortunate. I do have things I regret and blame myself for on occasion. Constantly needing to remind myself that I just cannot save everyone. I've lost many friends and family over the years. Most could no longer stand their own existence it seems. Others didn't care whether or not they existed and pushing things too far. I did what I could, gave advice or tools to the best of my ability even if in the end it didn't even matter. You can teach a man to fish, but cannot force him away from the ledge. I mourn the loss of friends, remembering them as they once were even if I know they are still alive. Perhaps foolish to hope that someday they will change their ways before it's too late. Maybe I am not friends with them anymore because I've seen how this story ends one too many times, and I'd rather not view it for 5th or 6th time...too many times within 20 years, least for me...

I’m glad to hear something positive again in my life thanks to what I have been through I am not alone even if people have done things recently to be a mess. damn I wouldn’t blame gender whatsoever people do go through shit or rather not end something so to one person intentions which why. I’m glad Yall being aware about this hate to see people start wars which never ends well. frick those high narcissistic people some do find hate more than love even tho that can’t always be the answer then again I refuse to believe there someone out there watching us to us actually an ed bruh you want attention or something better to help others in need instead of what a child wants from a parent all the time. don’t care about the power of the mind screw that too.

College professor. She was an idiot and didn’t deserve her degree at all but I was just some teen punk who complained about how useless she was to my best friend and his dad was listening in. His dad was the head of the mathematics department at my college and brought my concerns up with the college and turns out that moron “professor” was an illegal immigrant without an actual degree and when they tried to deport her she took a bunch of pills and almost binned herself. She had her kids taken away and got deported as far as I’m aware. Didn’t mean to ruin her life but I don’t feel bad at all about it. I also ruined another professors career the next year because I found out he had CP on his laptop while I was installing some software for him but I didn’t hesitate to report him to the college, the police, and then the fbi while sending copies of his hard drive to all of them so there would be proof but that was intentional.

In unintentionally destroyed my mother's life by being born. Daddy was supposed to go to law school, but got cold feet because he had an 18-month-old daughter and a newborn daughter, and felt two years in an MBA program was more practical than a three-year law school. Ergo, Mama's life was ruined, because she was only a manager's wife, not a lawyer's or judge's wife. If I heard I "ruined everything" once, I heard it 50 times. Yes, it sucked rocks. Still does, over seven years after her death.

Children don't choose to be born, the parents are to blame for making choices that affect their own goals and the children they bring into the world. It was never ok for your mom to blame you for her shortcomings.
