    This is probably your most valuable video so far. Gratitude is literally the vaccine to prevent and the cure to depression, and I mean it in the most literal of ways. By theory as someone who studied psychology at university, and by hard, consistent real life practice. Thanks for bringing this message to so many people.
    However, gratitude is just half of the story. The other half is progress, and the process. In life like in videogames, you don't get the happiness (or the fun, or the satisfaction, whatever you wanna call it) when you complete it, when you conquer your goals. The fun is in the process of progressing through it. If you set yourself the right goals and you work towards them every day, the knowledge that you're on the right track will save you from existencial agony, anxiety, depression and despair. Then you will have the greatest thing to br grateful for, which is yourself, your vision, your determination and your work

      What a great comment, I 100% agree. I’m not one that’s educated on any level but from personal experience, the happiest times of my life is knowing that I’m going in the right direction to achieve a goal, not the end of completing that said goal.

    A happy state of mind, satisfaction and motivation are fickle and can come and go anytime and can't be something you base your life and choices on.
    Enlightenment comes when you have no desires and are happy and grateful for life itself. But if you want to sacrifice some happiness for some desires and think it's worth it, go for it, since happiness is not the goal anyways.

    I agree that people who aren’t on self improvement are happier than people who are. For us that are on self improvement, we are delaying that happiness for the end goal of more happiness, but even at the “end” of it all, we will not be happy. Instead, we will see that the growth and journey is what makes us fulfilled. Seeking fulfillment is better than happiness.

  • @Raigeqwitz
    @Raigeqwitz 2 роки тому +27

    To add to your points in this video, people often think of this broad term "happiness" in the wrong way, at least from what I can see. It is viewed as something that comes as a result of success in life. This is completely backwards. Happiness (positivity and gratitude and such) will drive your success in life. This is also why so many ultra rich and successful people are actually depressed and unfulfilled. They expect the happiness to come after getting that dream job or becoming a millionaire.
    Thank you for this video it was a great watch. I have been spending a lot more time in meditation and thought lately thanks to your content. It is really interesting and I feel like it is going to do me a lot of good in both the short and long term. :)

I became the man of the house at such a young age and its made me more of a humble person. We’ve gone from living in a small apartment to owning our own house now. I recently graduated from college and actually I am about to have a job interview and I didn’t even apply for that job but got talent scouted. If we get too wrapped up in ONE source of happiness, we'll burn out. I'm afraid this has to do with fatigue in the brain, as if a neural pathway is being shocked too often and needs time to repair it's self. So, one way to combat this is to practice seeing one thing as multiple sources of happiness to extend the persistence of progressing in that one thing; This is like sharing the neurons through out your brain rather than keeping them focused on one neural pathway.
    *So, if you like drawing, you can't just pursue the dream to be an important artist alone. You have to share the pathways with the rest of your brain. This is when we include the purpose of our family, when we include motivative music, or we include our sexual motives to evade burn out or depression.*

    Happiness is the space between completing one goal and the beginning of another. Joy is the appreciation for success of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Good video ☺️

    True - Happiness is NOT the aim. Whenever you want something really badly, as in the military, the Olympic Boxing Team, a Masters Degree, etc...you're willing to "suffer" for the right reason.

    We want to chase true happiness which doesn’t come from instant pleasure but comes from truly loving yourself and working to get to that point

    Hamza, I feel like you legit changed my mindset. I have no real Alfa/Masculine figure in my life but I’ve always been interested in self improvement and studying the archetype of the masculine. Thanks to you, there’s a little Adonis, in my head, 24/7, pressing me and putting me in check. I needed that

    I see happiness as a emotion, feeling happy. I think we are wanting peace not happiness. But we over use the word happiness

      Yeah different people are going to define happiness in a different way, and even in different contexts. If you give me a compliment, i get happy. But true happiness in life i define it differently 😊
