    Excellent tutorial, my dad just cleaned my mums Xbox one x for the first time ever, and it was full of crap, easy to take the Xbox apart by following the guide, but the cleaning process took some time, and my dad had to keep learning off the video to make sure he put all the things back correct! But brilliant video.

      I have also heard that it is better to suck the dust with a vacuum rather than blowing it around with pressurized air since dust molecules can be incredibly tiny (smaller than water) and potentially get pushed further inside the components. I am more than happy to hear someone disprove this logic though! =D

Followed the steps and even though most of the console was quite clean, i followed the steps right into the interior (by removing the fan) and there was the issue... there was a large build up up dust right under the fan on the heatsink. I got a bit lucky with the basic disassembly. I didnt have the T8 screws, but I was able to still maneuver the shell off with the two screws still attached and blow the fan. I would not reccomend this however, as I was really afraid of the connector ripping out

  • @NetshadeX
    @NetshadeX 4 роки тому +6

    That’s.....quite a lot of work. With today’s prices for the X I think simply buying a fresh one would be the more economic option 😉. JK of course but I do wish Microsoft would allow easier access to the internals like Sony did with the Pro. Thanks for the informative video 👍

    I'm very stupid and broke the ribbon cable connector for the disc drive button. Idk if it broke more than the physical disk drive button, but luckily the part looks relatively easy to replace if need be. Kinda wish you did a close-up of that one.

    Why are you blowing the air/dust INTO the side vents? Shouldn’t you vacuum them instead?

    • @WikedEvo
      @WikedEvo 5 років тому

      This is exactly what I was thinking. Why do people use air. You're more like to push dust further into the system. Vaccum should be the preferred method.

    It would be helpful to have a video showing how to put it back together. ESPECIALLY how to reconnect the locking ribbon. I didn't even intentionally unplug it bc I couldn't figure out how to disconnect it. It came disconnected accidentally. So that was really confusing trying to figure out how to get that back together. I thought my xbox was screwed! And I'd already had a bad night after taking my ps4 pro apart and disconnecting the power cord from the motherboard and completely destroying it 😢 so I was having a panic attack when that ribbon came apart and I didn't know if it was broke, reconnectable or what! Thank goodness it went back together

    I foolishly bought one from a roach and cat infested woman for 150 with 3 good games to sell and I'm regretting it bad. The smell is outrageous!!! Not to mention the legion of bug parts. I got the plastic body off and disassembled it. I can't seem to find any videos on that part. Anyways I'm soaking it and scrubbing with dish detergent and vinegar. Then a good 91% alcohol rub down and doused with Febreeze. This is all after I've already left the console in a sealed bag with HELLA good smelling chemical products for over a week! I'll reassemble the body before I go any further with the video or else I'm gonna forget how it goes back together 😂 I appreciate the video breakdown here it's a life saver!
