A lot fresher for sure. But the X-Clamp is easy to remove and a lot of dust will be under that heat sink unfortunately. Along with dry thermal paste. I just did 2 and 1 of them was worse than yours 😅 still smells funny but it’s back up and running which is more than I can say for when I purchased it 🤣 still a good video none the less for those with less experience!
i actually dropped like more than half a cup of coffee in my fan somehow and my console works completely fine lol, thanks for the vid though quitting gaming for a while n selling my console.
Im scared to open it up, im 13 and kinda stupid, I'm really clumsy and idk if i should open it up but i can tell my xbox is dirty because i can see huge clumps of dust in it....should i open it up? 😭
I don’t recommend it unless it’s already broken and you’ve got nothing to lose. In my case, it was working, although slow. After cleaning it and reassembling it, now it won’t turn on for some mysterious reason.
Thank you so much for the info I just open my xbox as well and clean the inside which was very dirty from the last owner I bought it online and it was gross now with this step by step info I am able to save 110 dollars letting someone else do it that I can do it myself
@nguyendang3194 Good on you and that's the stuff I like to see! I bet you feel a lot more pride doing it yourself. I sold this one cheap to a friend, and I stressed, "Keep it good condition!" Aha
I know I’m late to the party and not even the same console but any idea why my hdmi port won’t let me play Xbox? I can watch UA-cam and dvds but not play anything anymore.
Bro! I can get into watching you work and DAMN!! Some folks don’t do anything to maintain their consoles. 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♂️ Thanks for the vid. 👍🏿👍🏿
Hey Mark, Great Video. Do you have any tips on how to safely clean the top left side of the Xbox one s. (without the hole). I am specifically trying to remove dark scuffs.
I’m completely stumped. I followed your guide, I have the tools AND experience, I’m not a complete idiot, I replaced the thermal paste precisely with the correct amount, but when it was all said and done, I tested it and it just will not turn on at all. Mind you, when it was filthy (and yes, we do smoke in the house so it was as bad, if not worse, than the one in your video) it was working, although was acting sluggish, even opening up the guide menu was taking forever which is why I decided to take it apart to clean it. Now I have absolutely no clue why it won’t even power on at all. I’m completely stumped. Any help would be appreciated.
I got a question what if I put a Xbox one when it first came out and still have it could i put the fan in the Xbox you have in the video just wanted to ask
@@ModNTech haha looks better now video was quality mate nice job how the fuck it get that dirty lmao i had to clean mine out the other day fucker was clogged with dust
I cleaned my Xbox the way you did in the video and I put it back together the way you did and my Xbox isn’t turning on for some reason, I was wondering if there’s a way to fix that?
Wait nvm, guess I just needed to actually watch the video instead of just listening. Still might’ve been a good idea to mention it for those who just listen and don’t watch. Time to save up for a new Xbox I guess.
T8 and T10 Torx screwdriver on the screws, Flat had to take off the back panel and to clean the insides I used Isopropyl alcohol with a toothbrush and cotton earbud to clean it :) And in the sink it was just soapy water on the plastic.
Mate, it's totally unconscionable to omit the hardest actions! Furthermore, in reality, reassembling something is NEVER a process of doing the same thing as was done disassembling it! Get real. Are you serious? At least it must be said that reassembly is at best, the REVERSE sequence of steps done in disassembly. Yeah? But to be accurate, there probably is little or no prying of case parts required to reassemble. Pushing things with tabs together is not at all like prying things apart. Plus I know that you failed to mention or show the small details of bits and items that have to be repositioned both BEFORE and DURING reassembly steps. There is no way you should omit or dismiss those little details. You were doing ok until you got lazy with your narration and camera work. Please try harder and do better in the future. Good luck. Cheers.

People intelligent enough to buy a $10 screwdriver kit and thermal paste.
No point in cleaning it when your missing the main thing. The heat sink?

“The easy way”
Does a complete part by part external and internal scrub.
What’s the hard version do I baptize it to clean it of its sins?
I didn't do the bottom of the board and CPU in this so I guess that would be the 'hard way' 😂 Or you could try it without your hands?
What is the screw drive called you need?
A fork
I know this comments a year old, but I believe it is a T10, I kinda star shaped. Or you could just use a small flathead

Probably be a you used a vacuum to clean the dust. if you did, that is why you mustn’t use a vacuum to clean consoles
No way to do this without scratching it
Possible use cotton or clothes
What kind of screwdriver is it

How the hell do you break that sticker thing in the beginning
I feel like the video is a lie
its easier to use a screwdriver to get it off
After how long does it become necessary to clean your console?
A few years. But you SHOULD do it every year.
