This is the coolest system I’ve seen on this channel. Seeing that Simplex 2901-9838 on the 4050-80 light plate at 7:41 reminds me of what my high school mainly has now, except the 4050-80s do 120 bpm March time while the horns and horn strobes do Code 3. They also have 4041s and 9822s in the main hallways and one 4051 in the gymnasium. In the huge mix, there’s also 4903 horn strobes, (9252s, 9219s, and 9236s) an NS in the cafeteria, and a 7002T in the library. But I don’t know what the panel is though, but the pulls are 4251-20s and 2099-9756s. Odd combinations I must say.
My old junior high school, R.T. Alderman, in Calgary, was the first Canadian school to get Truealert ES Horn/Strobes, back in December 2015 when they were installed.
Definitely not a fan of the new ES TrueAlerts, too shrill and don’t blend together and demand attention as well as the traditional SmartSync ones with the crisp and uniform tone. I believe the free run TrueAlerts also had a slightly lower pitch than the SmartSync ones
That's a pretty cool mix of Simplex fire alarm devices from the 1970s to the present! Interesting seeing those old Simplex 4251-series "Chevron" pulls used with 4051+4050-80 horn/lights. The superior courthouse in my city has that combination, except it was most likely a Simplex 4208 system that appears to have been installed around 1971 or 1972, as the 4050-80 light plates are the earlier recessed version with no "FIRE" lettering on the lens, compared to the kind seen in this video.
UPDATE: The Simplex 4051+4050-80s were unfortunately removed and replaced with Gentex Commander 3 horn/strobes, installed on adapter plates that would be painted to match the wall color. Probably a Notifier or Silent Knight system now or something, but they kept the Simplex "Chevron" pulls. (At least they didn't go with SpectrAlert Advances, like my college and my first elementary school did!)
I noticed something different about at least one of those True Alerts as well! At least one of them, have a resemblance to a Honeywell/System Sensor horn, LOL.
How can a fire alarm system be activated by an Ipod/tablet? I thought the panels and pull station could be the only source to activate a fire alarm system.
It’s an in house app Simplex uses to help inspections. Also I think you forgot the many types of smoke and heat detection, waterflow detection, activation from suppression systems.
Sounds like a System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance and a System Sensor L-series, LOL. I thought the True Alert ES-es were supposed to sound like the one at 7:09 and 7:21
Some ES hornstrobes sound different. I guess this is the newest thing. That sucks now they sound like an MT almost. The 4903-2425s are my favorite because of their perfect pitch.
The pitch sounds different depending on how far are you from the alarm. If you’re far away from the alarm, it has a higher pitch, and when you’re closer to the alarm it sounds like a regular trueAlert, like the older 4903 smart sync horn strobes
Great video! I have a small question however, do you have any idea what the deal is with the first 4050-80 shown? it's mounted on a simplex back box that's mounted on another box
Awesome video! Also when you when to the true alert ES for a second I thought they had system sensor classics installed. Also for battery backup does that panel really only need those two 12v 7AH batteries?
@SAFETECH, can u tell me how the alarm app works and the compatible devices? Can u also tell me if it's compatible with Android TV (For testing and alarm purposes at home or business especially if u own or work at a home business such as California Mentor Family Home Agency Fresno, California, USA)? @California Mentor FHA and Central Valley Regional Center, Inc Staff, if ur reading this, I would like to suggest this app for ur homes or group homes that has fire alarms like this. They have to use the regular ones to be on the conventional signal lines while the high pitched ES addressable units can be on the addressable signal circuit. For a new install on simplex you would likely see addressable devices, however older non-addressable devices can be grandfathered into the system via. modifications to the nac signaling and supported cards and systems.
The app he uses is very proprietary and not available to the general public. I wouldn’t ask simplex what the name of the app is because they most likely won’t tell you nor send it to you.
All that's missing from the system are 2901-9806 or -9833 horns on 2903 light or strobe plates (with the wedge-shaped "FIRE" lens), to represent the 1980s!
You may wish to review the beginning of the video. The shot of your phone shows a Simplex account number as well as the address of the panel. Not sure if that's what I'm seeing, but that's what it looks to be.

question for you, do the wheelock alarms sync with the simplex alarms?
Simsfanatic1997 is back BTCP AVBC Idk who you’re asking this question to, but I think Wheelock does sync with Simplex

I wonder why they combined the 2901-9138 horn with the 4050-80 light plates.
There was probably a Simplex 4051 horn originally on that 4050-80 light plate, but then the 4051 failed and they replaced it with the 2901-9838.
how many 4051s and 9838s did the school have
When you activated the Chevron, the 4051 above it sounded weird. Do you know why?
At 2:57 how does it trigger?
because he pulled the pull station..?
here's what the system consists of:
