    I remember being terrified of fire alarms in my elementary school. Mostly because they used a whistle alarm that made this God-awful horrible dissonant noise that was loud enough to wake the dead. Like two BMW car alarms that were slightly out of tune. But at least the fire drills were fun. I got to stand outside and screw around with my friends for 15 minutes.

    here's what the system consists of:
    some 4903 mechanical horn/strobes (4903-9405)
    Simplex 2903-9001 light plates with simplex 2901-9833 horns behind them
    Simplex Truealert Horn/Strobes.
    Simplex 4251-20 pull stations
    Simplex Dual-Action Pull Stations

      I know but in closer detail, I'd say the strobes aren't synchronized and they are only 15CD so not that bright. The 4903-9405 is a synchronized 110CD electromechanical horn strobe. These could very well be 4903-9401s, those are 15CD too. I don't know if anything here is 30CD.

    Looks like the Simplex system started out with a 2001 panel, judging by the 1980s alarms (2903+9833 horn/lights), and then the building was expanded in the 1990s and a 4002 or 4005 panel replaced the 2001 (i.e. the area with the electromechanical 4903 horn/strobes), and then it was expanded again very recently, hence the 4010ES.

      @Jenncollins_ 4 роки тому

      Jared Thompson . Hello. Yes, if you wire them a certain way, they can sync. Just needs a sync module, as seen in this video. I do believe that The 9401 devices sounds similar to the ones in this video, just a selectable device. Which is why I said they were branded as the 9401 series, I’m not used to having 9219 devices synced. But thank you for updating me on this😄 I feel kinda silly

    • @firealarmveteran15
      @firealarmveteran15 4 роки тому

      @@Jenncollins_ I think the reason why the strobes on the 9219s tend to sync with each other when being pulsed is because the installers may have been too lazy to cut the jumpers, meaning that the horn and strobe both operate regardless of wiring. When the jumpers are cut, the horn and strobe operate independently.

There are systems schools are buying that have different color pull stations to indicate non-fires and they sometimes used horn strobes with different color strobes. • @me-ss1sb
      @me-ss1sb 4 роки тому +1

      It's in walk test. During that mode, whatever zone the pull station you pulled, that's how many beats the alarm does. For example, if the pull station you pulled is in Zone 4 and it's on walk test, the alarm will do four beats then it shuts off. That's not for all systems but it's fairly common for systems shown in the video to have that.

      Simplex still makes this series, as well as the 4901 and 4903 and 4904 series. The 921 series as well as the 925* series is archived. But newer models are still used for installation. Even Electromechanical devices are still are made(9405, 9805 9820, 9822, and more models. I prefer Code 3 and Non temporal(Continuous) on Simplex Devices Rather Than on a GE system or on A Notifier System. Overall, Simplex is Good With their Devices
      Though i wish the 2001-8002 could've stayed around a little longer. 2001 March time was the best. But i Like Code 3 on Older Horns. But i figured that this system would be in Code 3 Because this place is in my living area. And we use Code 3 throught the area. I will not give the name due to privacy issues
