I’d like to say thank you. Thank you for making this video. I have never had the confidence to do my own repairs, so I bought a beater salvage jeep, and vowed to fix it myself. This is the best, clearest, easiest to follow video so far. Thanks for saving me $200, and keep up the great content.
I love your dog's name! This will be the second time I've changed out my Jeep's starter. 1993 YJ Ragtop Sport with that gorgeous 4.0L High Output. I rebuilt the original starter at the base auto hobby shop when I was stationed in Rota, Spain with the Navy in 2000 and then replaced it some time after I returned to civilian life after 2002. She may not be as pretty as she used to be, but she's built like a tank and loves to run... Thanks guys, muito obrigado!!!
My 92 did the same thing yesterday. Tried a new battery. Still didn't start. Looked up starter, saw solenoid, looked that up and BAM! Now you just showed me how to replace it. THANK YOU!!!
I'm having a real hard time getting enough clearance on that top bolt to put my socket and wrench on it to give it a good turn. looked easy enough in the video. Any tips. I have a 1989 Wrangler YJ manual 5 spd 2.5L 4 cylinder
Was that starter the original one? I replaced the starter on my 1990 YJ today… it was original to the jeep… 207,000 miles on the original starter is pretty good don’t you think? Thanks for actually showing the “down under” work you have to do to replace the starter.
Thank you!! This confirmed my suspicions that my starter is bad. Thank you to the guy in the peanut gallery for holding the camera! LOL Come on! I'm a pretty independent girl but have no desire to hold a camera and do all the work!!
I love you, I was stranded and you just saved my ass big time. Thanks

Good video you have any idea what the bolt sizes are the one to mount the starter

Shoudnt it be the other way around ? The guy changes the starter and the girl films on top ??
Nope. Not unless we went back in time...
