I have the same issue and when I replaced my battery, it didn’t improve. I didn’t replace my battery because of this issue. My battery was 7 years old and dead. However, my starter isnt terribly old (10 yrs) maybe it’s older than I thought but it is a cheap aftermarket starter.

Mitsubishi had a partnership with Chrysler in the 80s and 90s. That's why your new starter being made by Mitsubishi is just fine.
