Starscourge swords is an S-tier PVE and farming weapon. It's not great for bosses but any small to medium sized enemy will be short work with SS weapon skill.
Just wanted to clarify one mistake; the ancient meteoric ore greatsword deals magic damage with its weapon art. The particle effect is described as white lightning, but it is boosted and scales with magic damage multipliers.
Just adding sth on top. If you invest in dex/faith, you can ultilize both godslayer and fkgs. Also perfect access to incant builds, bolt of gransax, backhand blade, BB taker flame and sacred sword somber version. Tldr you has accesses to top tier physical build, bleed build, lightning build, fire build, holy build, blackflame build in both melee and range.
A couple things I'll point out as I go as I appreciate your effort and enjoyed the video but would like to help inform on some things. 1. Holy damage is actually really good now in the DLC. All shadow enemies and Hornsent (except Dancing Lion) are weakest to it. None of the bosses (not even Consort Radahn p2) have more than 40% resist to it (Elden Beast is 80 for comparison), many main bosses are actually weakest to it or tied for weakest (Gaius, Messmer, Putrescent Knight, P1 Radahn are weakest to it, Midra is equally weak to it as lightning), and we now have the Sword of Light and Sword of Darkness. SoL gives 20% holy dmg for 60s as a body buff (same slot as boiled crab or flame grant me strength) just for casting the WA, and SoD debuffs the enemy's holy resist by 20% and they stack, so Maliketh's BB is actually very potent for the DLC. I would personally now rank it A tier for that reason. Its WA dmg is proportional to boss HP too. 2. Weapon art spam is very central to the meta of Elden Ring so that is why Starscourge is so valued. Also the powerstance GS moveset is indeed mid EXCEPT for jump attacks. Jump attack spam is extremely strong with the Raptor's Black Feathers and claw talisman (or the gravebird quill feathers) and the Colossal swords have a super good jump move. As for the 2 Consort versions, Light is kinda bad rn and Lord is VERY strong, the full WA easily gets thousands of damage in a huge radius with hyper armor, but it is also a quality int wep so it's def not for 125-150 meta levels (the int part actually raises its magic dmg and the holy dmg of its WA). 3. Arcane scaling applies dmg to both physical and magic if it's split dmg so that actually makes it very good. 56-60 might be a better stat to push for but arc scaling is weird. 4. So true about Blasphemous Blade. 5. Godslayer is my favorite basegame weapon easily and I was so glad to see the hyper armor fix. What I love about it the most is that its WA does proportional dmg to the boss's HP so the higher the HP the more damage, so it gets stronger with each new game cycle and is the only pure dex GS, so it pairs well in a Madness/Blackflame build (High dex secondary faith) both thematically and scaling wise and is often a good centerpiece. 6. FKGS is insane in multiple builds for sure. Its latent fire dmg that can be buffed if you go heavy or quality is great because it can trigger fire effects on things like fingercreepers and miranda flowers and gives a huge burst of bonus dmg. Truly a fantastic weapon and I agree it's the best overall CS now. Fun video for sure! The blasphemous blade bit really got a chuckle out of me because I couldn't agree more.
I should have mentioned that about the dlc it's not an issue anymore. I was making a joke out of how often people say holy damage is bad in the end game 😂 And thank you for the other clarifications for me and people watching! 🙏

Been a ultra greatsword main since ds3 couldn’t get enough of them than Elden ring came out and I fell in love with them all over again they truly are the best weapon class and no one can convince me otherwise
Great video. I fully agree with your opinion of the Fire Knight’s Greatsword, it’s easily the best colossal sword and the most satisfying weapon to use. Its entire moveset flows so well, it feels like I’m using a greatsword with the damage and poise break potential of a colossal sword. The damage it gets when infused with fire is absurd too
I used an ar calculator to see the different damages fire knights is capable of and it's wild. But for me on my usual strength build is amazing on that too

Isn't leveling strength the casual go to? I main colossal greatswords I can't help myself even when I start out wanting to try other things so I'm not knocking it. Especially with Elden Ring you can do some disgusting cheesing very easy with it.

I think you did the Grafted Blade GS dirty, the ash of war gives you 5 seconds of infinite poise and damage reduction which makes it one of the best tanking weapons. Oath of Vengence is basically a better endure.
I am normally absolutely no fan of colossal weapons (i am more the dex type of guy), but Elden Ring manages to provide me 2 Colossal Weapons I really like. Maliketh's black blade and the godslayer greatsword are really satisfying to use :) They are not my most used weapons, but every now and then i use them.
That's crazy on my playthrough a month ago for the dlc I tried using the godslayers greatsword and I did not get the hype but now that the hyper armor is back might have to use it again
my disappointment when consort swords were not only not a stance-based weapon art but also no gravity ability was unmeasurable. Just imagine if this swords had both promised consort as its light and spinning gravity thrust as its heavy skills.. it would be too broken
My biggest disappointment is that we have 3 versions of the same weapon now, but none of them have unique moveset, just that trash dual wielding one (which is one of the worst dual wield moveset in the game).
@@Sargatas yeah my first play through I managed to struggle through the leonine crucible fight and had ruins so when I beat radahn later I was like of those will be sick but the move set sucks and it just becomes a jump attack simulator or you may as well use any other colossal sword

you can use either the black blade incantation or the black knife to stack the destined death effect on enemies for a total of 20% health reduction (it doesn't work with all 3, only malikeths sword and 1 of the other 2 at a time.
I feel like you underestimate the percentage based damage that the destined death skill does which is far more than black knife and relative to getting off the entire black blade incantation while hitting the blade in easily getting 5 off Elden beast
So, the consensus that I've heard is that the Radhan's Swords are the best for a jump-attack build. but even then, like you said, they're more of a fun weapon. I used them quite a bit on my kinda main character, who's got 30 mind and a ton of int, so he can really make use of the weapon skill, but it takes so long to cast. It's awesome in some situations, not so good in others. Another thing about those swords is that swinging both swords takes a *ton* of stamina. Edit: Also your video makes me realize that character would have been really great for the Royal Greatsword, and there's another Fromsoft content creator who was using the Royal Greatsword in combination with the new Carrian Sorcery Sword, which is both a thrusting sword and a casting focus (and somehow manages to be bad at both of those things...BUT, unlike most casting focuses, if you wield it off-hand, your spells become L2 rather than L1, and your L1 becomes the swift pokes of a thrusting sword, so it's great as an offhand weapon if you wanna have some sorcery options)
The thing you are missing with Starscourge swords "2 for 1"arguement is because it can be obtained quite early on when it is still hard to find multiple of the smithing stones and don't have much stats available yet so getting a dual wield colossal build is hard to get going but this solves that. A colossal dual build is amazing for jump attack spam since most jump attacks are similar speed so using huge weapons with big AR makes them do tonnes of damage.
Hey, grafted greatsword has a use…to help you stat stack to 37 intelligen long enough to cast law of regression for Goldmask’s quest. Twinmage stone helm (+6) Godrick’s great rune(+5) Grafted greatsword aow (+5) Intelligence knot cracked tear (+10) Stargazer talisman (+5) Even the lowest starting intelligence is 7. The above all together stack and give 31. You need 37 to cast law of regression Also, there’s a lore implication on its origin to consider. Spiral handle pattern, horns for the handle guard, and the lore description…the grafted greatsword may be a Hornsent weapon
I didnt like colossal weapons until i went back to play the ds series. Made me such a better player and really increased my appreciation for the weapon class; your recovery windows are so long so its extra important to play patient and and punish during select windows of opportunity; good vid dude
Also just a tidbit about the radahns lord sword; i beat the dlc at 11 scadu blessings and i went back to fight some missed bosses and absolutely obliterated them with the skill; demihuman sword master onze took one skill and died, the other sword is pretty mid though and the skill is hard to hit kinda like thundercloud form
I feel like people overlook the radahn greatsword (lord) because of the weird scaling and because they were disappointed about the moveset, but if you use it right you can get around 30k damage with a full combo
Flame art fire knights greatsword with the new fire ash of wars that leave the messmer flame buff on the weapon is absolutely fantastic. Great moveset, great look, and amazing damage and scaling
I personally like the starscourge greatswords since I think that the jump attacks do really good damage especially with the claw talisman and that’s without any buffs but not all weapons are fun for everyone I also just really like them since double big bonk makes my brain go happy mode
2handed ruins greatsword took through pretty much my entire first playtrhough until i put down blaidd when I started powerstancing royal greatsword and ruins greatsword (with royal's skill) peak str int build, rannis greatsword is for nerds
I started using the Godslayer Greatsword on my NG4 str/dex/fai build and OMFG this with the 2 hand charm and Shard of Alexander hits like an absolute truck! If you are close enough to the enemy the beginning downswing that lights the sword on fire, it will stagger most enemies and it keeps the stagger locked for them entire AoW! I swap between that and the Guts sword w/ quality Lion's Claw since im lvl 300 and have str/dex/fai all above 70, with lightning grease for the DLC since every god damn thing is on water :D
This is a very good list! I agree with just about everything. I think the only differences we have are how we placed the top 3. For me it goes: 1. Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword 2. Gugs 3. Fire knight Greatsword I like the AMOG most mainly due to how well the AOW gels with the rest of the moveset. The fact that you can do any move out of the lunging thrust, not just the explosion, gives this thing insane versatility. Not to mention having the poke oriented moveset of the Zewi and Fire Knight GS. It’s also just as long, if not longer than the Gugs. The only real point I can levy against are that it takes a more specialized build over the other two, which can be built in more different ways. But that’s a small price to pay for a weapon with the overall best moveset and AOW for colossal swords in the game imo. It also hits like a fuckin truck. The other two are relatively interchangeable to me. I just prefer the regular sweeping R1’s over the fire knight’s unique R1’s. They’re both super versatile and you can’t go wrong with either.
power stancing colossals is about jump L1 being more damage than jump R2. same with Radahn's swords, or just regular old power stanced colossals. plus Radahn's AoW is good AoE with good hyper armor.
I would argue that Rykard is technically stronger than Radahn because he has infinite potential by consuming souls with Eiglay and no way to properly die. We see Radahn die permanently in the land of shadow through the course of the dlc while Rykard survives all the events of the game. In terms of raw stats in the present though, Radahn no doubt wins.
I completed the base game with the zweihander, it's truly a very versatile weapon! It can slash, it can stab, it has plenty of options for ashes of war.

Pretty good ranking ngl. Also the Godslayer's GS apparently lost its hyperarmor due to a bug before they fixed it with the first SotE patch. Fromsoft just decided that it wasn't important enough to patch sooner I guess 🤷♂️
Starscourge ash of war is easily one of the most useful attacks in the game. If you’re ever actually having trouble this shit destroys everything works through walls etc.
Zwei kinda took on the legacy of Astora GS for dex builds i guess, love that but the looks on Astora GS is unmatched for me and that teason alone is why i dont dabble in colossals in ER.
Fire Knight GS goes absolutely stupid on a full Faith Flame build. I put the Fire Knight Spear ash on it to give it a ranged attack as well as a fire buff. Made it flame art affinity. Easily tied for my new favorite STR weapon with the Smithscript Hammer.
@seanysalami Only one I think is bad is the Spear. Not enough raw damage. Daggers are at least fast and very useful for easy dragon kills on horseback. Shield does good damage with its throw being an ash. The Cirques are shorter range, but they can get nutty with the damage on a jump attack setup and are definitely a close second to the Hammer for me.
@@seanysalami endure, charge heavy attack repeat. its also good because that weapon gives you stats for its AOW. you mentioned how you took into consideration the stat requirement and scaling, i think because of its AOW its one of the best early game and for speed running
With Starscourge GS, I'd mention that power-stanced colossal gs moveset is pretty good if you spam jump heavies, especially combined with claw talisman and raptor's blackfeather. While jump l1s was a bit hard for me to get used to, as a ds player, they are indeed super strong in ER. The AoW is also very useful, as its absolutely amazing for large crowds, which is something a strength build in ER would often struggle. It also has decent hyper armor and very good damage, so its overall very useful. I think it defo deserves A tier, biggest downside is prolly its range. With the DLC ones, the Light version is shit, pretty much no reason to use it. Lord version is okay, as the AoW does great dmg, but it needs more hyper armor and the weapon itself doesn't do as much dmg as the Starscourge version
I do that with the misceriode because of it's critical strike damage! I'm not sure if it's always the right call I've been looking up to when it doesn't make sense to 😆
malikeths blade has been my fallback weapon every time ive been struggling with a boss and its never failed me. i beat melania 1v1 with it and i think its the best weapon in the game to the point i try not to use it too much or everything becomes too easy.
I agree. Even though it took me like 4.5 hrs to get the Fire Knight GS it was totally worth it. I LOVE that this had the Zweihander's moveset and if you have a quality build, the damage is close to Guts GS (might even be more on weak to fire enemies) with a better moveset and lighter.
Meteoric ore (Soul Edge) is #1 for my money and it’s not even close. Especially when you see how hard this thing pops off in PvP, for duels or invasions. Best moveset imo, best range by a wide margin, highest AR I believe too, and inarguably the best AOw you could ever want on this weapon class. Plus I can cosplay as Nightmare. It’s the GOAT.
The godslayer sword is a weird one. I was messing around with a RL200 faith dex build on NG+ for the DLC and was surprised just how high the AR can go even without much STR scaling to boost the 2h AR.

The Sekiro Tear really is adding a new fun way to play with a lot of weapons

Fire Knight’s Greatsword is one of the best additions in the DLC. Having an infusible colossal sword with the GS Greatsword moveset is amazing
To me, Colossals bring out the best skill/payoff ratio. Especially in pvp. My heart will alwsys be with my Guts build.

The thing with the starscourge greatsword is that the jumping attacks deal a lot of damage so most people just spam it

@@Sargatas yeah my first play through I managed to struggle through the leonine crucible fight and had ruins so when I beat radahn later I was like of those will be sick but the move set sucks and it just becomes a jump attack simulator or you may as well use any other colossal sword
@@thereisnospoon7054 it becomes even more stupid when you remember that DS3 had ringed city knight's dual rails with very good moveset. They've reused so much things, but haven't come up to reuse something good.
you can use either the black blade incantation or the black knife to stack the destined death effect on enemies for a total of 20% health reduction (it doesn't work with all 3, only malikeths sword and 1 of the other 2 at a time.

I feel like you underestimate the percentage based damage that the destined death skill does which is far more than black knife and relative to getting off the entire black blade incantation while hitting the blade in easily getting 5 off Elden beast

So, the consensus that I've heard is that the Radhan's Swords are the best for a jump-attack build. but even then, like you said, they're more of a fun weapon. I used them quite a bit on my kinda main character, who's got 30 mind and a ton of int, so he can really make use of the weapon skill, but it takes so long to cast. It's awesome in some situations, not so good in others. Another thing about those swords is that swinging both swords takes a *ton* of stamina.
Edit: Also your video makes me realize that character would have been really great for the Royal Greatsword, and there's another Fromsoft content creator who was using the Royal Greatsword in combination with the new Carrian Sorcery Sword, which is both a thrusting sword and a casting focus (and somehow manages to be bad at both of those things...BUT, unlike most casting focuses, if you wield it off-hand, your spells become L2 rather than L1, and your L1 becomes the swift pokes of a thrusting sword, so it's great as an offhand weapon if you wanna have some sorcery options)
The thing you are missing with Starscourge swords "2 for 1"arguement is because it can be obtained quite early on when it is still hard to find multiple of the smithing stones and don't have much stats available yet so getting a dual wield colossal build is hard to get going but this solves that. A colossal dual build is amazing for jump attack spam since most jump attacks are similar speed so using huge weapons with big AR makes them do tonnes of damage.
A few people have pointed out that about jump Attacks. It's definitely a weapon I should revisit

Even the lowest starting intelligence is 7. The above all together stack and give 31. You need 37 to cast law of regression
Also, there’s a lore implication on its origin to consider.
Spiral handle pattern, horns for the handle guard, and the lore description…the grafted greatsword may be a Hornsent weapon

I didnt like colossal weapons until i went back to play the ds series. Made me such a better player and really increased my appreciation for the weapon class; your recovery windows are so long so its extra important to play patient and and punish during select windows of opportunity; good vid dude
Also just a tidbit about the radahns lord sword; i beat the dlc at 11 scadu blessings and i went back to fight some missed bosses and absolutely obliterated them with the skill; demihuman sword master onze took one skill and died, the other sword is pretty mid though and the skill is hard to hit kinda like thundercloud form

I feel like people overlook the radahn greatsword (lord) because of the weird scaling and because they were disappointed about the moveset, but if you use it right you can get around 30k damage with a full combo

I personally like the starscourge greatswords since I think that the jump attacks do really good damage especially with the claw talisman and that’s without any buffs but not all weapons are fun for everyone I also just really like them since double big bonk makes my brain go happy mode
2handed ruins greatsword took through pretty much my entire first playtrhough until i put down blaidd when I started powerstancing royal greatsword and ruins greatsword (with royal's skill) peak str int build, rannis greatsword is for nerds
I started using the Godslayer Greatsword on my NG4 str/dex/fai build and OMFG this with the 2 hand charm and Shard of Alexander hits like an absolute truck! If you are close enough to the enemy the beginning downswing that lights the sword on fire, it will stagger most enemies and it keeps the stagger locked for them entire AoW! I swap between that and the Guts sword w/ quality Lion's Claw since im lvl 300 and have str/dex/fai all above 70, with lightning grease for the DLC since every god damn thing is on water :D

This is a very good list! I agree with just about everything. I think the only differences we have are how we placed the top 3. For me it goes:
1. Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword
2. Gugs
3. Fire knight Greatsword
I like the AMOG most mainly due to how well the AOW gels with the rest of the moveset. The fact that you can do any move out of the lunging thrust, not just the explosion, gives this thing insane versatility. Not to mention having the poke oriented moveset of the Zewi and Fire Knight GS. It’s also just as long, if not longer than the Gugs. The only real point I can levy against are that it takes a more specialized build over the other two, which can be built in more different ways.
But that’s a small price to pay for a weapon with the overall best moveset and AOW for colossal swords in the game imo. It also hits like a fuckin truck.
The other two are relatively interchangeable to me. I just prefer the regular sweeping R1’s over the fire knight’s unique R1’s. They’re both super versatile and you can’t go wrong with either.
Right? I Absolutely love both of these additions in the dlc 💯 and ancient meteor I need more larval tears for so I can use it more 😂

power stancing colossals is about jump L1 being more damage than jump R2. same with Radahn's swords, or just regular old power stanced colossals. plus Radahn's AoW is good AoE with good hyper armor.
I would argue that Rykard is technically stronger than Radahn because he has infinite potential by consuming souls with Eiglay and no way to properly die. We see Radahn die permanently in the land of shadow through the course of the dlc while Rykard survives all the events of the game. In terms of raw stats in the present though, Radahn no doubt wins.
I completed the base game with the zweihander, it's truly a very versatile weapon!
It can slash, it can stab, it has plenty of options for ashes of war.
Fire Knight's greatsword is the best IMO, it just feels lighter/faster without losing out on damage and hyper armor. Only drawback is the Faith req.

Pretty good ranking ngl. Also the Godslayer's GS apparently lost its hyperarmor due to a bug before they fixed it with the first SotE patch. Fromsoft just decided that it wasn't important enough to patch sooner I guess 🤷♂️

Fire Knight GS goes absolutely stupid on a full Faith Flame build. I put the Fire Knight Spear ash on it to give it a ranged attack as well as a fire buff. Made it flame art affinity. Easily tied for my new favorite STR weapon with the Smithscript Hammer.

@seanysalami Only one I think is bad is the Spear. Not enough raw damage. Daggers are at least fast and very useful for easy dragon kills on horseback. Shield does good damage with its throw being an ash. The Cirques are shorter range, but they can get nutty with the damage on a jump attack setup and are definitely a close second to the Hammer for me.
Grafted blade leans into exactly what you want in a greatsword, trading….. it’s not bad lmao endure chargers heavy repeat.

With Starscourge GS, I'd mention that power-stanced colossal gs moveset is pretty good if you spam jump heavies, especially combined with claw talisman and raptor's blackfeather. While jump l1s was a bit hard for me to get used to, as a ds player, they are indeed super strong in ER. The AoW is also very useful, as its absolutely amazing for large crowds, which is something a strength build in ER would often struggle. It also has decent hyper armor and very good damage, so its overall very useful. I think it defo deserves A tier, biggest downside is prolly its range.
With the DLC ones, the Light version is shit, pretty much no reason to use it. Lord version is okay, as the AoW does great dmg, but it needs more hyper armor and the weapon itself doesn't do as much dmg as the Starscourge version

I have a ranking of underrated bosses coming up today or tomorrow but I'm thinking about which tier list for weapons I'll do next
malikeths blade has been my fallback weapon every time ive been struggling with a boss and its never failed me. i beat melania 1v1 with it and i think its the best weapon in the game to the point i try not to use it too much or everything becomes too easy.
At the end of the day you can get any weapon to work and this one just works for you 😎
The radahn sword from the dlc should have been a stance instead of two different swords, no idea who in the dev team thought that was a good idea

I agree. Even though it took me like 4.5 hrs to get the Fire Knight GS it was totally worth it. I LOVE that this had the Zweihander's moveset and if you have a quality build, the damage is close to Guts GS (might even be more on weak to fire enemies) with a better moveset and lighter.

Meteoric ore (Soul Edge) is #1 for my money and it’s not even close. Especially when you see how hard this thing pops off in PvP, for duels or invasions. Best moveset imo, best range by a wide margin, highest AR I believe too, and inarguably the best AOw you could ever want on this weapon class.
Plus I can cosplay as Nightmare. It’s the GOAT.

The godslayer sword is a weird one. I was messing around with a RL200 faith dex build on NG+ for the DLC and was surprised just how high the AR can go even without much STR scaling to boost the 2h AR.
