I am glad that he had the opportunity to see his dream come true and be shown to the rest of us via Jay Leno's Garage, RIP Bruce Leven, you created a beautiful car.
Man, that thing is one of the coolest, most beautiful builds I've ever seen. I hope Bruce got plenty of enjoyment out of it before he passed, and I'm very glad his vision got to be brought to life to go on after him. Fantastic car, wow.
What a ridiculously good sounding engine. I'm not a Ford or Shoebox kind of guy... but this is a throwback to what any guy would've loved to build after surviving WWII. Great build by an extremely talented builder.
R.I.P. Bruce. It's been a long time since I watched Bayside Racing take on all comers and when I came across your obit a couple of weeks ago it brought back a lot of memories. Then to come across this in Leno's Garage. A car guy through and through you were.
This is the very best custom car i have ever seen . I'am 80 and i have seen miles of custom cars done very well , but this one is the top of every thing .... Thanks Jay for showing this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely beautiful car. The owner had great vision to have something so cool made. It is very unfortunate that he didn't get to drive it too much. RIP Bruce.
R.I.P old fella and know that your vision... GT51 and Wicked Fabrications incredible work has truly spawned a masterpiece that any car guy would be humbled to own....
Beautiful rebuilt. My Brother Larry I got a 51 ford Victoria for Christmas back in the mid sixties because our dad was tired of us modifying his Ford wagon. I think it will remain our favorite car some 60 Years after. Rip Pop and thanks for the great memories
So nice to see something different and interesting. I have never understood why someone would demonstrate such creativity in a build and then stuff the engine bay with a belly-button bowtie. Very pleased to see his 368 Lincoln and hear your comments.
I had 3 1950 ford's in the early 70,s and loved them all. The flathead ford's were the smoothest engines ever. I had a stock 1953 in the late eighty's. It was a great driver. In high school in 1965 my friend had a 1954 Ford sedan. One day his brother found a turkey carcass in the kitchen. He stuck it in the antenna of his brothers 54. It would turn like a weather vane. It lasted for about a month. We would sit in the kitchen and look out the window and grin at the double takes of people Walking by the 54 and their reaction to the turkey carcass! Those early fifties Ford's were bullet proof.
I grew up surrounded by 49-51 Ford Coupes. My late brother had several of them , but only Coupes, not 2 Dr.'s or sedans, (those were for Parts cars), he had two on the road at all times. One was mint ,shiny black and pretty much stock, the other was lowered, stiffened up, flat Black, had lakes pipes, (straight, no mufflers), in it's day it would pretty much out run anything, we had a LOT of FUN with that car !
I Hate to hear Bruce passed away. Its a shame he didn't get to enjoy this fabulous car he had made. RIP Bruce. The car is gorgeous the way it was redesigned and built. Nicely done by Craig at Wicked Fab's.
@@supersevenn The car had 150 miles on it since the rebuild and before Jay drove it. So, I guess the owner had a little time to enjoy it. So sad he had so little time to drive it though.
I’m assuming, based on that incredibly beautiful gear shift assembly, the Tremec 5-speed has been modified to support sequential shifting. Does anyone know if that is true?
RIP Bruce, your car is a beauty! I really hope your kids or grandkids add an "In loving memory" bit to the car and drive it around and show it. Wish I could have met you before you passed.
it is gorgeous.........I woulda not polished so much tho..more of a nickle or satin finish I say..seats are wow..and they sit a bit too hi for many dudes......drop them an inch or 2
Seeing the memoriam at the end bummed me out. I hope he got to really enjoy it. What a sweet ride! And it's got a stick! I loved that rumble. Sounds like a real car.
One of my favorite cars since 1954 when my father bought one. Not a coupe but a two door sedan, which he drove until 1962. At which time he bought a 1954 Cadillac. The latter became my number one car of choice and ye old Ford moved to number two. There they remain in my heart ever since.
I hate to heap even more praise upon Jay, but WOW! He really, REALLY knows his cars, his live detective work in the video showcases his astounding depth of automotive knowladge!
At least Bruce knows Jay Leno wanted to show off his dream car on his show. Probably felt nice knowing that others will appreciate his biuld. I do. It's a cool biuld . Good job Bruce . And as always Thanks Jay.
This car can be added to my FAVE Jay Leno's garage cars. I've always loved the 1949-53 Ford sedans. Thanx so much for sharing this car and to those who built it, TOUCHE!
I love sectioned 49-51 fords. they really do have a euro look to them. Couple of my little pages from back in the day people did this more often than you would think and every one of them turned out a little different and unique. RIP Bruce wish you could have enjoyed your beautiful creation more.
I met Bruce several years ago at the Grand Nationals with this car it had just been finished, it was after the award ceremony and we talked about his car easily for an hour. He gave all the credit to the builders and couldn’t of been a nicer guy. Class act and it pains me that he passed away, I don’t think he truly got to enjoy that car, RIP Bruce!
What a shame that Bruce passed away. Thank you for having the idea to build such a cool car. I hope that you got to enjoy driving your build before you passed.
Seen that car a few times on other shows but leno does a good job most of all driving around he gets the highway an back roads which most dont get to do . what a sweet ride
Jay this is my absolute favorite guest car ever on your show. Have watched this episode so many times. thank you for sharing. I am sorry to hear about the owner. thank you again, tim from new mexico.
My 1st car was a "51 Ford (mine was a 4 dr. Sedan) when I was 14 years old (I lived on a farm so I could drive it) and wait for it....I worked for Bruce as a Porsche Technician when he owned Bayside Porsche, Saab and Lotus in Seattle in the '80's & early 90's. Bruce was definitely a "car guy" (kinda like an excited kid really) when I started working at Bayside his demo was a new Guards Red 928 S4 with a giant, full color, 12" x 18" Porsche decal right in the middle of the hood.....R.I.P. Bruce!
Great video that took a really dark turn at the end. At least Bruce got to have a dream, got to stay hungry from he was 12-22 (1950s) and eventually realized his dream and saw it built. Too bad he never got to enjoy the final product much, but then again, he never got to get bored of it either.
WOW! 😳 A definite work of passion and art, one of the prettiest restomods I've ever seen. Kudos to the owner and builders, you hit that one out of the ballpark. 👍👍

Bruce had perfect taste, I think this is one, if not the most beautiful car I've seen on this channel and that says a lot. Sorry you couldn't enjoy the car more. Thanks to Jay for another great video.
This car has to have the best looking engine compartment I've ever seen, it is beautiful but still looks serious and all about the business of moving her along.
Bruce, thank you for sharing your beautiful machine with us. I feel sad with your passing and that you did not have more time to enjoy driving your vehicle. RIP.
I said it about 40 times while watching....and I'll say it again....
That's a badass ford coupe!

I love this car! Perfect engine choice and just tastefully modified all the way around. What a great build!
Same thing I thought of when this car was on the road. That car in Cobra was mean as hell.
RamblinAround- I know right?! And that exhaust note- I don't think I've ever heard anything quite like it.. . Intoxicating
I agree Jeff
i read it has over 1 million dollars invested in this build
@@urdaddywingnut7820 gotta love the ford Y block exhaust note.

Wow! Who would have thought i could fall in love with a 51 ford, my heart is pierced. She is so classy!
Bruce thank you for your vision on this car. RIP, and blessings to your family.

So happy to see this one...school teacher mom drove stock one until 1967... and I was 7 years old... I cried when she sold it...this is inspiring
I love this build. I have watched this many times. The sound~!!! It sounds like a ship out of Star Wars. Seriously cool.

So great to see Jay give a deserving craftsman a hand up!
What a BRUTAL sounding Car . A Piece of Kinetic Art . And YES , the profile does have Mk2 Jaguar cues .

What a special car! Saw the speedhunters article on it and fell in love. What vision to do something so different. Rip Bruce!
The flat grey paint reminds of the 1950s and 1960s Alfa Romeo "Graphite Grey". Very nice.
