    Thank you for sharing your entire process. Including taking off the tape after you put the glitter on, greatly appreciated.

      I recorded it when I worked on that cup (I was actually drinking form it today!) It will be added sometime. I have 3 more definite videos before that one though. Thank you!

    How did you make the cup spinner

    In your very first video you applied a coat of mod podge then your glitter, in this video you’re applying the epoxy then the glitter - is there a difference or preference?
    Also, do you always spray paint/prime your cups (to match the color you’re making)?

    • @VioletDoodlesBoutique
      @VioletDoodlesBoutique  4 роки тому

      It depends on the technique/effect I am going for. If I need it to stay tacky longer, I will go the epoxy route. If I want it to dry fast, MP.
      I paint it to match or use white to keep the colors true. If it is a glitter that covers well or is opaque, I don't base coat at all. And, sometimes, I will use a color different than the glitter to change the color if it is an opal or transparent glitter.

    What's the difference in doing the epoxy glitter method from using mod podge? Why did you choose not to use mod podge for this project?

    • @VioletDoodlesBoutique
      @VioletDoodlesBoutique  5 років тому +2

      Mod Podge dries too quickly for this application. Also, when using a chunky glitter, it lays a little flatter using this method. I typically use MP for solid colors (not chunky), ombres, or designs that require application with a paint brush.

    Beautifully done!! Excellent tutorial! I realize that your hubby made your turner but would it be possible for him to share where he got the "arm" and connectors and size? I am still trying to learn and want to build my own but finding the parts (mostly because I don't know what they are called...lol) Thank you so much!! I hope that I am able to create as wonderful as your tumblers are!!

      Thank you! The arm is just stainless tubing that connects to the gears inside. I slide PVC over the tubing. It stays snug with a few layers of tesa tape on the ends of the tubing. If I can get him to build me one more, I will try to get a supply list as we go. This one was a trial turner.

      I use cleat gloss spray paint (either Rustomleum or Tree House Studio).

      The big ones came from Amazon. I stopped using them because the lids were breaking after a few uses.

      I wait about 20 minutes usually, always sometime before an hour. This video goes into more detail.

    Love it! Nice work!
    I love your turner..... where did you get it? I'm barely starting out. So far I've made 5 tumblers all with the hang method, but I don't think it's keeping enough epoxy on the tumblers. I think a Turner would be alot better.
    Thank you for your tutorial.

    • @VioletDoodlesBoutique
      @VioletDoodlesBoutique  5 років тому

      My husband made my turner. Epoxy is self leveling, so the hanging method will waste a lot of material and never really give you an even coat. Without a turner, you can hand turn.

      What are the rubber pieces on the end of the rods of your spinners. I like how yours has turned out. We have made a simple turner and it works very well but looking to expand and so far yours is the best and closest to mine. Thanks

    • @VioletDoodlesBoutique
      @VioletDoodlesBoutique  5 років тому

      It isn't rubber but tesa tape wrapped around until the tube fits snugly.

    can you tell me what that metal rod is on your turner, and how you are connecting the pipe to that metal rod? thats a really great idea. we do the PVC pipes and the connectors but that looks way better :)

    • @VioletDoodlesBoutique
      @VioletDoodlesBoutique  5 років тому

      It is stainless steel tubing with tesa tape wrapped around the ends for a snug fit.
