I have let my 6 year old watch your tumbler vids. She will sit and. Watch until I tell her she needs to go play. Your purple glitter tumbler is the thing that got her mesmerized. Think I have a fellow DIY partner in the making. 😃
Aww, that makes me so happy that she is enjoying them too. My 11 year old is usually watching all of my tutorials and helping me with the camera. It's nice to have your kids share similar interests.

I am really thinking about doing this. I am a stay at home pregnant wife and am looking to earn some money doing things that are fun.
@@ashleecox6076You should! It's a great way to earn some extra income but I would talk to your doctor about using the epoxy while pregnant.
Definitely will do that.
I actually like how your machine kind of hums and sings as it turns. I thought you had music on in the background at first!
I am new to the tumbler business so thank you for this tutorial for new ideas 👍
gorgeous, would love this in blues!!
Thank you! I've done some blues and it is beautiful.
@@MySoulOnFire One of these days I will be working enough to afford to make these myself, the swirl is awesome and my favorite color is blue. :)

Beautiful
Thank you!
Amazing job at explaining and showing the materials ! ❤️❤️🙌🏼
Thank you!
ASMR...
BEAUTIFUL...
Thank you!
Beautiful. How do you get glitter on the bottom of the cup?
This should save me a lot of resin. I have been making swirls by adding as much resin as the cup will hold and then sprinkling large amounts of glitter in stripes and spots. I use at least 10 colors and I get similar results visually but very thick and heavy. I sell them in full sun at the Farmers Market and they are dazzling. Mostly I take custom orders and add names or whatever.
I do one where I use glitter glue to make borders for six strips and then use colored mica, to fill three lines at a time, to make gay pride flag cups. They are beautiful and super popular. Definitely try mica. And the mica mixes with glitter in interesting ways.
I never thought of using heat to mobilize the glitter... thank you.
Am enjoying your video but I found that if you place your bottles of epoxy into a container with hot water and let them sit for about 10 minutes or so... part A is so much easier to work with. Also when I did this... I found that when I combined both parts... there were little to no bubbles.
So you do not top it again after it's done? I can see with all the epoxy, it's probably sealed enough, but just asking.
I love this tumbler!! If the epoxy gets inside the cup, how do you get it out?
Beautiful! I can’t wait to try this. How do you make sure that the epoxy doesn’t go inside the cup?
Do you use a craft store heat gun or a heat gun from a hardware store (in Australia bunnings is our big tool/hardware store but not sure about US stores :-)
I use one from a hardware store. I don't feel like the craft ones work as well, however, I do know that many people do use them.
Great job! Do you have to use heat gun?
Got a question. I already dipped my cup. If i wantvto add glitter to it, do I put on epoxy first then blend in my glitter. Then another layer of epoxy after that dries. Or what. Help
I've never actually done it in that order before. I have glittered it and then epoxied and then hydro dipped.
Beautiful cup. Do you put another layer of epoxy over the glitter after this layer has dried?
Thank you. I do. Next I would put any vinyl on the cup and then I would give it another coat of epoxy.
So after the first expect Ang glitter dries u put another costvof expect. Does the glitter smooth itself out. Asking for my wife
Expoxy and coat not coxt
Could you post which glitters used and names
Beautiful, did you add another layer of epoxy after this?
Yes, you always want another layer of epoxy after this.
am making my first soon this was a fab video when it dried did you epoxy again?? its lush!!
Thanks, I did. Once it hardened I put my vinyl name on it and gave it another coat of epoxy.
i have to ask, where do you get that tool that spins your cup and do you just leave it continuing to spin for the full curing time. Thankyou for reassuring me about alumilite. I just purchased some and have never heard of this, and I'm nervous to do it because there are so many warnings people make about it possibly not curing, creating bubbles, exc. My name is not blinky btw, its alina
Do you prep the cup before spray painting them?
Is that food-safe resin, or do you not use the cup for drinking from? It's beautiful.
Thank you! It is. That's why I use the brand that I do.
I have kind of a goofy question. how did you get the paper seal off the bottle of glitter?
Where did you get the purple rain glitter? it's so pretty
New to the cup world, love this! Where do you buy cups from? I'm having a hard time finding them.... do you wet sand your epoxy between coats?
Thank you. I get the ozark trail brand from Walmart although around the holiday they are hard to find. I don't always sand in between layers. It depends on the cup. These don't typically need it. It's usually the cups where I use mod podge and pour the glitter on that need sanding. I never dry sand. It's too harsh and dust gets everywhere.
@@MySoulOnFire what kind of sand paper do you use?
@@nicolecardenas5425 320 grit and I sand wet.
I did a pink, silver and white glitter one. It basically all blended together? What did I do wrong. Its still pretty but was not what I was going for?
Thank you for sharing. Very informative and easy to understand and follow. I am going to go make one right now. I appreciate you taking the time to demonstrate how to do this so others can learn, as well.
Thank you and you're welcome.
That is beautiful. But im wondering, at what point donyou clean up the inside rim of the cup?
I cleaned the inside about 30 minutes into turning by using a cotton swap and alcohol
Love this tutorial so much, thank you for doing it! What kind of heat gun are you using, if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve tried other things with an embossing gun, but it doesn’t seem to move the epoxy like I need it to.
I agree about the embossing gun. Some people have success with them but I have not. I actually took over my husbands craftsman heat gun. I'm not sure if you have any near you but harbor freight actually carries one that is very reasonably priced and works wonderfully.
Thank you! I’ll run down to Harbor Freight tomorrow!
Do you cover it again with another layer of Epoxy???? Great video ... thank You
Thank you! Yes I do. You can add vinyl too and then another layer of epoxy.
Can I do this on a portion of my Yeti?
Beautiful tumbler. Can you tell me what the spray paint is you used first? Is it a matt purple primer or something? I can't read the label in the video. Thanks very much
I can't understand where you said you got the purple rain and ebony, can you tell me here
Sure, it was bulkglitters.com.
18:22 I love this
Do you have to use a stainless steel cup in order to make these style of cups? (Epoxy, glitter, decals etc)
I am wanting to make a water bottle with a sports top like this but those are hard to come by in stainless
Good question. It doesn't have to be stainless. I have used other colors when the stainless is out of stock. I just always make sure to do my base layer of spray paint because you never know how each surface will react.
RESIN LOVES PLASTIC IF THATS WHAT YOUR ASKING.
Is the purple rain ultra fine or just fine? I love it! want to order it!
Fine
The other day I use acc quick dry and my eyes the next day were all swollen and red. I really like it too but I think I'm allergic. Have you had that problem? Now what do I do with the leftover I have grr
I did my first glitter tumbler last night. Not sure if it’s the colors I used or if my heat gun was too hot or too close but....my glitter just blended together and the base of cup is raised all around with epoxy. Do you have any suggestions of what I might have done wrong? Your cups are amazing!!
Thank you. It sounds like too much heat. Not necessarily that it was too hot but that maybe you applied the heat for too long or too closely. Apply heat for a bit until it starts moving well and then take the heat off. You definitely don't want the epoxy to look like it's being blown around by the heat gun either. If you have raised epoxy at the bottom chances are your cup is just tilting that way on the spinner. Just prop something sturdy under the base of the spinner to tilt it back the other way and make it even.
How much epoxy did you use? Is your turner level? Too much epoxy will swallow the glitter (unless you are doing a flow, like this great one). If your turner is not level or your tumbler is not situated correctly, your epoxy will gather at the lower end.
I just finished tweaking my tumbler and even built another. Everything is perfectly level now and going to try another!😜
@@kimdefluiter6742 How'd it turn out?
How do you keep the epoxy from getting inside the cup (while applying it)?
Good question. You actually don't. Theres is an incredibly easy way to clean it out once the cup has cured. I plan to pay a video soon showing how.
Will you show how you clean up your cup? Is the inside lip taped? You do go over the edge, as you mention but I have had some big messes on inner lip. Less than a month making cups. Trying to get edges down. Appreciate the help!
I posted a tutorial on this.
do you print your own vinyl stickers?
What would you suggest the base color be for a swirl with orange, green and purple glitter?
I usually use the lightest color as the base. So, probably the orange. If you put a green or purple base then it could show through and change the color of your orange glitter.
First time seeing someone do that method. Did u add epoxy over it at the end. Or that finished product?
Wow! I didn’t think I was going to like it and then BOOM all of a sudden everything shifted and it swirled! What an incredible technique! Is it the heat gun that does that? Do you need something like a kitchen torch or will the heat gun I use for embossing work? Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you! I imagine your embossing gun would work nicely for this.
What is the thing called that it’s spinning on? Where’d you get in and cost?
My husband made these. I am planning on doing a video showing how soon.
What do you use to hold cup and spinner?
If you apply a thin coat of epoxy will it swirl less? or you must epoxy a thick coat
It won't swirl as well, plus you will possibly end up with not as enough epoxy left on the cup.
Did you give it another coat of epoxy or just that one?
Always another coat. You can add vinyl before the 2nd coat too.
Where do you get your glitter, that purple is fantastic
So many places although this purple is from bulkglitters.com
Would you mind sending pictures of the rotating thingy for the cups? My wife would like to start do9ng this and I'd like to attempt to build it. Thank you
I sure will. Right now I am swamped getting the last cups in the mail before Christmas as well as several I'm making as gifts but I will try to get this done as soon as possible.
Thank you!
I am also interested in knowing more about the machine you use to spin overnight... can you post more info on it please.
Have you managed to make your turner yer? Im in a FB group that a wonderful gentleman demonstrated building and gave us details to diy our own
When you say heater gun is it the hair blow dryer?
No, it's a craftsman heat gun.
great video!!! where can I get the medicine cups at?
I order mine from amazon.
Those glitters look like jewel dust! You should also sell the drips as epoxy stones!
