Good video. A simple suggestion though.. Just use a bit of aluminum foil to cover the pipes and route the oil around them and into the bucket. Way cleaner that way!
I appreciate your MT-10 technical content. FYI the wrench nut on filters is not for tightening, but taking them off during replacement. It is frequent for a filter to be extremely tough to undo after a year of service. Without that nut, one may have to resort to impaling the filter with a screwdriver and use it as a lever.
@@MOTOUK1 I recommend you try out HiFlo fitters, particularly the Racing lane. They are reasonably priced due to no marketing, but offer quality well surpassing most if not all other brands, certainly K&N.
Odd one, buddy but I'm hoping to get a shed shortly and I think you might have the yardmaster? ones I'm looking at would you recommend it as decent storage for a bike or anything to note about it? as I was looking at the 10x8 ones as a garage isn't an option but a garden at the rear is much like yours seems to be :)
It’s not something I would keep a bike in as very thin tin and only any good as a garden shed. I have also a garage that I keep mine in. I have seen purpose stronger ones but they aren’t cheap!
Hello. It's your first time using the Champion filter?I've been using the Hiflo one and the Champion kinda looks like it's made by Hiflo.I might use the Champion for the next oil change
Nope been doing my own servicing for 20 years and never used a torque wrench it’s all in the wrist. I only replace crush washer every two Oil changed, ok man 😂😂👍
Now Nick, I've just changed my oil n filter. Only got it on the 26th Oct so I dont know a great deal about it. My question is can I reset counter in the oil in the maintenance section? & if so how? The oil & both intervals are showing the overall milage?
Yes you can set 1 trip to count the oil mileage. On my SP it’s diff to normal MT10 but on mine I just select it hold the scroll wheel down until it flashes and press the wheel once and it will zero out.
Nice one, funny thing is I did that and it didn't work. I too got the SP, love it but it does crunch into first gear a little which is annoying to say its only done 2000mls, and yes I have tried a few adjustments.
Did my oil today, funnily enough, don't know why can't go anywhere! I never warm-up always drain cold so the oil settles and shite sits low, each to their own suppose. Needed shower after was freezing. I've got the same drip can too.
I would personally recommend Mahle filters oe quality part No is oc575. I'm a car technician & would only use Mann filter or Mahle the finest quality filters on the market. Most car manufacturers use these as there oe filters. Cost me £5.91+. Google it and put your vehicle details in then bingo you've got a part No.
Just came across your channel, love your videos. To the point & precise !
Thanks Muhammad 👍

😂😂 I normally use cardboard, didn’t this time but great suggestions to use foil. Will use next time 👍
On your next oil change; Place some aluminum foil over your pipes, form it towards your oil container, no mess clean up. Be safe 🙏🏽
Yes do that now 👍
nice slick procedure, fancy doing mine ? was really waiting for the chain clean.
It’s coming David, but it rained me off 😂

I know I used to use k&n filters and were great for undoing filter.

Thanks will do
just realised how much of a monster that swing arm is for all that torque
It is a beast JBL 👍
I alway forgot to cover the exhaust on my Aprilia. Haven't done an oil change on my Beamer yet.
Good video mate 👍🏽 just wondering Did you put another 100cc oil after you put 4 Litres in?
Can’t remember now 😂 been a long time ago and don’t have that bike any more sorry

Hi guys Castrol is not a 100% synthetic oil . It is Hc base oil
He is right. You need a true PAO motorcycle specific oil like Amsoil,Redline,Royal purple if you want a true 100% synthetic oil.
7:45 I'd say there's no need to go quite so tight there.
my dream bike
Thanks they are amazing you should get one day 👍
@@MOTOUK1 haha ha i have to win a lottery or something .. it cost as much as a base model hilux or compact suv .. ride safe mate ..

No I have used many times on lots of my bikes 👍 all similar really
Oh my god your missus is going to kill you, the oil on those nice clean garden tiles!
😂😂 haha I know, actually it cleaned up nicely 👍
I always prime filter with oil. Mine screws in horizontally too & no problems.
Yes but won’t the oil spill out when you screw on ? 😁👍
No comment about the haunted oil filter box? 😂
No Torque wrench on the drain plug and no new crush washer??? Come on Man! :)

Keep trying it takes me two attempts to get it or consult the manual 👍 most 1000 cc bikes have a big clunk into 1st
great video... what levers are those?
China ones good fit, match colour and fully adjustable 👍
You really should use a torque wrench for both drain plug and filter.. not forgetting also to use a new sealing washer on the sump plug too..
my filter always leaks if I don't torque to spec the factory had the filter so tight filter wrench hardly could budget it ridiculous
That’s crazy i always hand tight, never had any leaks, but i do have crazy big 🙌 hands 🤣
@@MOTOUK1 yea tha4s what I've always done also and it should be enough i think they torque around 13 ft pounds

Haha I know what you mean but at least the bike has fresh oil 😂
So how did you manage to get 4.1 Litres of oil,,, out of a 4 Litre oil container lol
I was hiding the extra .1 😆
@@MOTOUK1 BTW I also use Power 1 Racing, it's great oil for fast bikes :)
What is the part number for the oil filter ?!
Champion COF104
