My man, your videos are absolutely amazing!!! I'm about to buy a 99 Grand Prix with a blown tranny for $400 and this basically tells me everything I need to know. I've been on the path to become a mechanic for a couple years now and while I absolutely love working on cars, I've been very skeptical about pursuing it as a career, but i've been watching your videos and the more I watch, the more my confidence goes up. Definitely keep up the great work on the videos!
the engineers and bean counters, who designed a car like this, need to be fired. removing the steering rack and frame, to change the transmission. it's a damned shame. but you do a great job showing what has to be done. the last 3 trans jobs like this I had to do on my own cars, I bought the trans, gave the cars to a local shop, and they flip the trans in/out for $500.
Awesome video man I'm certified diesel mechanic and I got my mother-in-law's 06 Monte Carlo in the garage getting ready to do a transmission swap video very helpful it will be my first front wheel drive tranny LOL
Thanks for this video Alex. It helped me a lot swap the transmission in my Bonneville this weekend. My GM FSM for the car was utterly useless compared to your instructions.
The Rack and pinion,I hang a bungee cord at the middle around the exhaust. Those transmission line fitting, there is a release tool for them.Put in,turn it and pull the line out

alex you're a good tech and mechanic- the secret is air tools and 6-point swivel sockets. that's the only way to fly.

That tool is a waste of money try using that on a trailblazer. but hey, what ever works for you. I always replace with new clips and o-rings..
Problem with the pick removal is they go flying and can't find them
lol yes they do! I have a vast supply of them though and the lines come out easier, but i get where your coming from!
Your awesome at what you do
Thanks bro your video help me alot God bless
Great video.....Thanks
The video is nice. But it would have better of you showed close ups of some of the sections so we could see what exactly you were seeing.
got any on a 08 Lucerne 3.8 transmission?

Nice job man... How long did it actually take ya? About an hr?
