Excellent video and tutorial. You have made it look easy enough for the rest of us to at least try it. Thanks man, you rock!
Are you really going to be able to place all that hardware back in the right place?? LOL!! Awesome video and great work!
Your video is good you took one hours job to 10 hours if the cases just remove transmission we do in one hour remove much less work
Great job
Thank you Sooooo Much!!!! I was going crazy! Excellent Video!!! Good Work !!!! Keep 'em coming !!!
Hey Alex.. Just wanted to say thanks buddy.. Great video froma great tech!!
Alex, this saved me. My daughter ran her diff dry in her 2004 Durango (pinion bearings were shot which tore up the seal), and thankfully it has the 8.25 in it. I would not have tackled this job if I hadn't found your video. Best, most detailed walkthrough I've watched. My daughter would not have been able to afford this repair from pros. Props to you, thanks to your video my repair worked flawlessly. Especially appreciate the tip to mark the caps to set the backlash and preload to where they were, this was invaluable.
Thanks for putting up this video! I have to change a friends mode selector switch (neutral safety switch) on one of these this weekend
Wow - about 45 minutes to remove it. How many hours does the book say it should take? Your boss better hold on to you!
He made this look easy (...it is not)
This is great! I watched the whole thing, I have a '97 xj w/ the Chrysler 8.25 and have a diff locker for the rear I'm not sure if I feel like installing myself or taking it in. This helped me become much more familiar with the differential though.
Excellent
Book knowledge can be bought...experience cannot. Excelsior for a job well done!
Great Video. Thanks
Awesome job man top notch video! I only came to see the axle removal and was so impressed i jist watched the whole hour video. 55 people are on drugs for disliking this video! Haters gunna hate i guess. Question tho on a 8.25 are the internals going to look identical with or without track lok? Havent been able to find info other than spinning a tire but if the clutches are fried it would act like an open diff i would assume? Just wondrring if there are any key parts that would indicate this without taking the internals out to look? Thanks great work man!
Amazing video! I got in a little over my head installing a locker, this video gives me the knowledge I need to get it back together.
OMG!!
After all these years of making these diff's wouldn't you think they would make a way to get some kind of puller or bearing separator on those carrier races? Really? They are going to make you cut them off? Nothing like having all that metal all over the shop when you are rebuilding this kind of stuff, right?
Great video buddy. I'm actually doing this to my 2011 Wrangler tomorrow morning, wish me luck. Thanks again.
Not as good as you not going to lie, but on these my round about time for removal is an hour. Great work man
I know I need to do this on my Cherokee. I had thought may be it was a bit out of my league but after watching this I think except for pressing the barrings I'll be ok. Thanks
Great video man my carrier bearings went out in my 95 Grand Cherokee limited and I’m going to replace them tomorrow thanks for the tutorial I am subscribing to your channel also what type of fluid do I use to refill the rear end?
Is this car worth keeping after rebuilding transmission 2 times
Good job made it look easy 👍😃
thanks for making this video help me fix my sons car.
Amazing video. Thank you so much!
Good job but I rather paid you to do it for me
I have been a mechanic all my life. This kid is good.. real good. I can see the talent in the small details. Very certain of what he is doing. and when was the last time you saw anyone disconnect a gm o2 sensor in 3 seconds? lol
man I have to remove all this to change the rear main seal on the engine.
Thanks for another great video !!!
Is this what's necessary to alleviate the whining/whirring sound when accelerating & deceleration? I also have small leak appearing from the rear diff pinion seal. You video is very thorough. Good stuff (05 Grand Cherokee btw)
Nicely done..thanks for taking the time to do this for your viewers....a real pro at work. And, as others have stated, nice tool layout.
Thanks bro your video help me alot God bless
Wow. Puts me at ease. Planning on pulling my transmission to build it and I wasn't looking forward to it hahaha
Thank u Alex!! I observed that u let the air ratchet spin and then hit the bolt with your Snap-On or Mac impact universal. On the Taurus, u were able to get almost all the upper engine bolts. Super job!!
That was an awesome job man! I used this as a guide to help me replace my transmission. But I am stuck, I put everything back but one battery cord. It is the opposite end of the negative terminal, it is by the starter. If you know what I am talking about can you help me, I can't remember where I need to put that connection.
Complete with the epic Eddie vanhalen playing in the background😉
You're Awesome!!!
What about that green converter bolt u were going to tell us about? Appreciate your hard work!!
Ha. So the green converter bolt has a shoulder that centers the converter on flywheel. Tighten this one first and all others will line right up.. this applies to all Toyotas.
Thanks, never did a eight and a quarter before, going to keep this video!
The video is nice. But it would have better of you showed close ups of some of the sections so we could see what exactly you were seeing.
U r amazing!! Taking one out right now. Leaving the axles in the wheels great tip. That is one heck of an air ratchet. I notice u let it spin up then hit the bolt with it spinning. That bell bolt behind the prindl is a tough one. U make it look easy. It’s not for me. Thank u!!!
Damn. 26 minutes
Champion
I think that was the crank position sensor not the knock sensor. Not sure, doesn't matter. Great video. Thank you.
Insanity. Nice footage of work actually being done. Customers would love to see this probably. To the point,no talking,no issues or BS.
Exactly what I needed as I’m having to redo my diff, thank you very very much sir!
Cincy radio station nice. What is the name of the shop?
Great job thanks for the upload.
Brilliant video. Great to watch a good mechanic in action. Thanks for sharing.
