Where to find me:
I'm BonnieCoit on both Instagram and Ravelry - Come say hi!
Loved this episode, and looking forward to your show and tell! 😄
My first thought for the Killington was a hat, maybe striped or colorblocked with a contrasting brim 🤔 I’m sure whatever you decide to make with it will turn out great!
Miss Babs is one of my favourite yarns, the colours are so gorgeous!
Seriously! They are stunning.
Go crazy on the socks. Have fun! I, too, have gone a bit overboard with sock yarn. I’m having fun being wild in my color combos. Enjoy!!
That’s the plan! I feel like socks are the best opportunity to play with color
Bonnie, you're very enjoyable to listen to while I knit -- great company, and great knits! I have way too many WIPs but when I get them a bit more under control, I want to cast on a Ranunculus...still somehow haven't made one! -- plus I was admiring the Hue Shift blanket a few years ago when my cousin made it, so you've reminded me of that. All the crafty things! Your dance background is so interesting too -- wishing you all the best with your choreography project, and will look forward to hearing more in future episodes. ~ Karen, Vancouver, BC
Thank you! I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel and I totally hear you on having too many WIPs. I’m always wanting to cast more on and having to actively stop myself haha
With your body ballerina frame, I'm sure that you'd look good in a knitted razor T Back t-shirt. You can knit translucent beads to make it special. It would be a long term project because adding beads is a time-consuming task.
Really enjoy watching you…been watching since episode #1! We started a podcast around the same time! It’s an awesome journey!
I'm with you - I was SO resistant to the Ranunculus for so long, and I can't even remember how I finally bought the pattern and made it, but someone (rightfully) convinced me one way or another that it really is a magic pattern! I love mine!
I’m so grateful that I finally went for it too! It’s such a fun pattern and even my quick, un-blocked test fit looked so good. Im glad my initial impression of the pattern was proved wrong
I love ALL the yarn purchases but I gasped when you held up the minis! So fun!!!! I can’t wait to see your socks.
I too am just knitting my first ranunculus and know there will be more. It really is fun to knit. For your blue yarn the new sammensat 24 by Elizabeth Judith might work. I am maybe doing that next.
Funnily enough I was looking at another one of Elizabeth Judith’s patterns as an option for that yarn. I was considering the Knus Light but the Sammebsat 24 is also really nice looking.
I just finished a 676 square mitred FrankenBlanket made up of leftovers from other projects. It took me 8 years to finish, and when I did finish I thought I was never going to knit one of those monster blankets ever again. And then I saw this episode... and now I want to knit that Hue Shift Afghan. Way to go on the enabling! And great episode, I really enjoy your content!
676 squares!?! Wow, that blanket must be stunning! How big did it turn out?
After 676 squares, the 100 in the Hue Shift Afghan will fly by
@@AKnitterObsessed It's king-bed sized. But we sleep in a queen bed! I have it draped on a couch, whisked away to hide when the grands come over. My friends think I should frame it and hang it on the dining room wall.
Also, the squares are 19 x 19 stitches mitred with fingering weight yarn. Not as huge as yours.
Big stripe, take a look at Aimee Shers Coloring Book Sweater. For your blue yarn, the Birdwatcher.
Both of those are such good suggestions, thank you! I especially like the Coloring Book Sweater and I think I’m picturing it with a third contrasting color for the ribbing for the collar, sleeves, and hem now. I think you might have solved it 😊
@@AKnitterObsessed Well that makes me happy! I just finished it and loved the process.
Love all the yarn!
I just knit my first ranunculus and got down to about 3/4 of the body done and just didn’t like the front short rows. It came up too high on my neck so I frogged it and will try again, leaving them out. But I too kept thinking I’ll never knit a ranunculus.
It’s always painful to frog but worth it to get a piece that you’ll really wear and love. At least it is still fun to knit a second time as I discovered haha 😂
Oh my.. The raglan increase story 😂... I'm sure never happened to anybody ever...haha
Yeah, that will go down as one of my sillier knitting mistakes. It genuinely took me a minute to figure out what happened too. Like I was just staring at this seam in the middle of the back and wondering “why would the pattern have a seam here” and then just went 🤦♀️ when I figured it out hahaha
@@AKnitterObsessed I can imagine how that felt. And glad to hear you did the right thing by restarting :)
What yarn store do you go to for knit night? Is it every Thursday?
Which cast on did you do for your Ranunculus - love the color - I love the ones I’ve made!
I did the wider neckline cast on but it’s definitely fitting tighter due to my gauge. I’m already looking forward making this pattern again with different choices. It’s just so much fun to knit 😁
@@AKnitterObsessed My gauge was about 19-20 stitches and tore out the cast on several times. I eventually just cast on 90 stitches and skipped the increases after the cast on. Worked like a charm. I had to play around with the increases, but the pattern gives you lots of room to play.
That’s a great solution for the cast on! Luckily I’m liking the look I’m getting with my current project, but it definitely wasn’t my original intention. I just really love the look of the wide neck in the samples so I appreciate the tip for the next one 😊
Congratulations! On 1k
Vest instead of T-shirt?
Thanks! A vest is a great idea and I’m laughing at myself a little that I didn’t even consider it haha. I’m going to start scoping out some patterns.
With your silk swatch, go on Ravelry and sort for the gauge you got and needle size. You never know, it might give you a summer garment
