Thank you for the wonderful gift knit suggestions. You are such a beautiful Daughter in-law, sounds like you have a wonderful Mother in-law too. I hope to try the Boon Hat soon. Love the Gro Hat, but will wait until my skill levels improve :-)
I really enjoyed this episode. Mostly because these are not things I would typically think of for gift knits. My go to is first, socks, then cowls or shawls, then hats. Thank you for showing me a different perspective.
Omg! I finally know what to do with the Malabrigo lace I’ve had for years!! The Horai Scarf is so gorgeous and it’s a free pattern as well! Also the designer’s other patterns seem lovely, so I’ll have to check them out as well 😊
Oh man, I completely forgot to mention the free pattern part! That’s definitely a major bonus. I agree about her other patterns as well. I have a couple saved in my favorites. If you go ahead and make the Horai Scarf, I do recommend adding the selvedge stitches like I did on mine. It’s easy to do and makes it look quite a bit neater 😊
When you talked about the Boon Island hat last time I liked yours so much I ordered the same yarn and knit three hats for gifts within just a couple of weeks. That one was fun!
You are so welcome! I tried to include a range of skills and techniques too, so there should be lots of room to grow your skills as you get more experience.
That is The Shift by Andrea Mowry. It's knit with Spincycle Yarns Dyed in the Wool. I didn't realize until I was ready to upload the video that I totally forgot to mention it haha.
Thank you for sharing your gift knits. I gift many of my knits too. I love seeing them used and appreciated 😊

I'm so happy you liked it! I suspect socks will make it onto my gift knitting rotation once I knit my first pair

Thanks for sharing. Your ideas are very well thought through. I commented on some of your patterns, See you later.
Also check out Babycocktails (Thea Colman) who has lots of hats and she's the queen of cables. Enjoying your podcasts.
Ooh, thank you for the tip! I’ll definitely check out her patterns!
@aknitterobsessed Bonnie what is the pattern for the cowl you’re wearing through the video (except when you modeled your mother in laws red scarf)?

I feel like everyone in my life is sick of knit hats. You got a hat, and you get a hat, and you get a hat, even your cat gets a hat! 😂
