Thanks!!!! I literally thought I was being punked by this. My daughter called me last night. Sent me a video of this exact issue with her 2018 CRV. We followed these steps with one exception - after she turned off the car, she opened the door to ensure the system was 'off'. We tried it once prior to that and didn't work, but once she opened and closed it door it worked perfectly. As a software engineer, the holding the volume button down to reset the system is priceless. Thanks again so much for this perfect video. Saw in some comments that it's *might* be possible to track down a recall but probably wait to see if it happens again.
Thanks Mr. Jagadish, I have faced this problem last night with my CRV 2022 in dubai and your video was very useful, after following your steps it got cleared I appreciate your efforts 👏🙏
This happened right before we were moving cross country, where I would be towing a 12’ trailer on my car. I wasn’t able to use cruise control while it was freaking out like this. Cruise control is life on a 33hour road trip! Thank you so much!
This happened to me when I was away from home. The car's acceleration was also affected. I followed your instructions, and everything returned to normal. Thank you for saving me a $$$ trip to the dealer.
Update - It happened again and the "re-boot" sequence didn't work. No matter what I did, the car would not accelerate but only idled. Took it to a Honda dealer, whose computer scanner "determined it was bad gas". Funny the car has had the same gas in it for 2 months but all of a sudden, it's "bad"? Anyway, they flushed the tank but new gas did not solve all the issues. They claimed the gas caused a mis-fire problem that caused the timing chain to stretch and damaged the chain sprockets among other things. The whole engine was flushed, timing chain and sprockets replaced, spark plugs replaced and the car seemed fine ($2,900 and a week in the shop later). Oh well. Exactly 1 week later, the warning lights came back and the car wouldn't accelerate...again. Poking around under the hood revealed a battery voltage of 3.8 volts. I replaced the battery and the car has been running perfectly for over 3 months. My guess is that the 6-year-old battery was the only problem all along. I can't prove anything, but it looks like the dealer ripped me off, big-time, "fixing" a problem that didn't exist. It cost me $2,900 (plus $200 for a new battery I changed myself) to get things right. I wish that I had insisted on seeing the "old parts the dealer took off and replaced". I'd bet there were none. Check your battery and connections. Low voltage can cause computer-controlled cars to go crazy.
I faced the same issue twice while driving and it was really scary. I was not able to press brake paddle as it became stiff. When it happens first time, I went to dealer and he was not having any idea as why this has caused. He told me to replace the battery and it should take care of this problem. So, I spent $900 and got new battery. But just after 15 days, again the same issue was encountered and when I called dealer; she started telling me all kind of excuses stating that there could be numberous reason why this has happened. I am sure they don't have any freaking idea how to resolve this issue. This is very much frustrating. I have been a loyal customer of Honda for past 8-9 years but now this scares shit out of me. I recently tweeted this problem to Honda customer service and hoping to get some answer but this is a serious issue and Honda should resolve it ASAP. This could be life threating and Honda should take full responsibility of anything happens to anyone due to this.
This problem seems rampant with this car. Totally unacceptable. I replaced the battery and it did not help. I am very hesitant to bring it to the dealer because I know they will try to charge me an outrageous amount without fixing the issue. The solution that you showed in your video does not always work. What has always worked for me was to disconnect and reconnect the positive terminal on the battery, then do what you did. But this is not a permanent solution and all the lights come back on after several days. Never buying a Honda again.
Good informative video. Anyone experiencing this annoying problem, and this video didn't work for you, check your battery. I replaced my 3 year old battery on my 2019 CRV and it cleared up all the scary problem notices that kept popping up.

This happened to me in March so went to dealership. They recommended I replace the power unit then after that they said it could be that the fuel injectors need replacing. Honda's warranty covers that up until 70,000 miles and I was at around 73,000 miles. The service manager said I can see if changing out the power unit resolves the issue and if I have the problem arise again to come back. Well the car did fine until end of July, (so about 4 months) then started doing the same thing. I took it back and they said my battery failed and recommended I replace the battery which I did. The battery was only 2 years old but ok sometimes batteries fail sooner than expected. Well then less than a week later all the lights went on again do I took it back to the dealer and they are saying its definitely needing all fuel injectors replaced. The kit is on back order, and I was told it will take approximately a month but no real ETA. I was told I can still drive it with faulty injectors but that makes me very nervous. I have put over 5,000 miles on the car since March when the problem first arose and ai watched another UA-cam video that said you shouldn't drive with bad injectors and another one said its ok to drive but not more than 5,000 miles on bad injectors. Honda needs to do a recall, way too many people are experiencing this problem at low miles.
@@evierose9959 about 6 weeks ago we put in a bottle of fuel injector cleaner with a full tank and this problem went away. A week or so later it came back so we put another bottle of injector cleaner and this has been gone ever since. Fingers crossed but this was happening daily and it’s now gone
This worked great, though I had to try more than once and moved the vehicle around a bit. But it worked, eventually! Thank you so much. I had tried other tricks prior to this which failed.
Hey thanks for this video man. May battery died due to cold weather and my car was sitting in the garage for 3 days. Jumped start it and drove for a while but the warning lights didn’t disappear (usually do this trick when i was in California but didn’t work here in east coast). Im glad i found your video.🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
Amazing! Worked like a charm. Had mice chew into my wiring harness once $1200. Thought it was same problem. Your video fixed it in 2 minutes! Thank you
Same thing SAME EXACT PROBLEM! I had rodent damage some months back. The issues were solved but then the parking brake light came on. Then I hooked up a scanning tool and ALL of these flashing lights came in. I have a 2019 Honda Accord 1.5L LX. Definitely going to try this.
Hey I have the same car maintained to a T… and I had this problem 1 time and this worked for me… not sure why my car did this but it hasn’t happened since… thinking my battery might be weak… but thank-you👍
This resolved my same issue! I have a 2028 Touring. However, it is worth noting that I did the reboot twice. It didn't appear to do anything UNTIL I put it in reverse to back out of the driveway! Once I started driving, the screen said, "system initializing" and the warning lights went away! Thank you so much, sir!
Absolutely worked. The first time this happened on my 2018 Honda CR-V the dealership replaced the battery and it was cleared up, but it just happened again a month later. I did the reboot and baam, it cleared.
This worked on my 2021 CRV, worked great, thanks. Note; my display was not working so I pulled the fuse (20 amp). It fixed the problem with my display but I had all the warning lights started flashing. Thanks for the fix.
Thank you so much! This worked on my 2018 CRV. I wonder what caused it? So frustrating to know this is an ongoing issue, not just my vehicle. Honda should be addressing this!
This happens to my 2018 Honda Crv often. The first time I took it to Honda dealership, where I purchased it, was told it is a problem with crv, said they will fix it after about 7 months later, and happens again and again so it will be a constant problem for me as long as I have my CRV. I am glad I found your video. I don't have the money or time to keep running to the dealership, and then try to get pressured to do a trade-in.
I had the same issue, pulled the codes with a scanner, and cleared them, next day problem came back. took it to the dealership, and fixed it under warranty. they changed the "injectors". 2018 with 54k miles when it happened.
**** Problem solved, but this video did not help. If you have a lot of corrosion on the battery terminal, remove them from battery and clean. I cleaned with hot water and baking soda (1 tablespoon) and soaked each terminal for about 2 minutes. Then I used a tooth brush and then sand paper. Then I used di-electric grease (optional). This removed the dashboard light problem- after I drove for about 0.5 miles. This is the second time this happened to me, the first time was about 30-40 thousand miles ago. These cars are very sensitive to the amount of current from the battery, and the battery terminal corrode very easily. Good luck.
This happened to me for the first time this morning. Dropped off my kids at school. Car was still running. When I came back and disengaged the parking brake it went haywire. Your suggestion worked for now. Given its a 2017 crv with original battery I'm hoping it's just the battery that needs replacing since I'm out of warranty. Only 102000km on it too
I replaced my original battery last week and thought everything was working properly. But today the lights started flashing again. I’ll try this fix tomorrow and hope for the best. Last thing on my list is a trip to the dealer.
Had the same issue on my 2018 CRV Touring, reboot it twice but the lights came back on in 24hrs each time. I replace the battery which was 4yrs old/factory battery and add a bottle fluid injector cleaner{Rislone} to a full tank of gas. Its been 2wks now and no warning lights. Knock on wood, btw located in NE where its cold.
This solution was also mentioned in other videos and so I tried it. I rebooted, drove around for 15 minutes but the warning lights did not clear. So I took it to the dealer 25 minutes away. In the parking lot I parked in the wrong spot and so started the car again to move it and the lights were gone. So it appears that you might have to drive a bit more for the codes to clear. My car was parked on driveway which has a steep slope and it was raining. Normally this car is in the garage. I wonder if water/moisture is the issue. Before taking it to the dealer I took it to autozone and the battery/charging system was in good condition. Battery was 1.5 years old bought from the same autozone.
Everyone becareful about this warning lights, don't ignore them until your warranty run out. It's a major problem with fuel injectors. I had the same problem dealer was resetting my codes and all of sudden after warranty they asked me to pay for fuel injector and labor.
I think this is an issue from the manufacturer as you can see tons of people complaining about the same problem. Honda should simply do a general recall
I applied this method to my Honda 2019 CRV-EX and it worked like a charm. Before I fixed the issue, my break would kick back when I tried to start it. Now, it still kicks back a little bit, but not as much as before, but I’m wondering, what might be causing this problem. In the research I’ve done, it’s been suggested that the battery might be causing the problem. Do I need to replace the battery, or do I need to give it a professional charge? Thanks.
I’ve had this problem for years now. I initially found cleaning the front grill housing the radar solved this issue. No longer does that work, nor does this reboot. Incredibly frustrating, I have less than 50k miles on this vehicle.
Happened to me and keeps coming back. Only right after warranty expired. I’m wondering if Honda makes it intentionally to have us visit the dealership and pay 💰 💰
If the fault keeps coming up that means you have a problem. Resetting the fault it’s like ignoring it and not fixing the root cause. Most of the time this fault is related to missfire or injector issue
Your right it’s the injectors I had this problem for almost a year. I noticed injector cleaner helped out but kept coming back. I replaced the injectors and fixed the problem. Bought the injector on eBay for 300 bucks
Thank you for your video. have CRv 2021, it has the same problem. I tried to solve it as per this video without success. I also did factory reset, but the issue remains unchanged. Does anyone had any updated solution!
Having some issues with my 2018 crv and wondering if you can help me. Mine doesn’t start at all and I got the brake light on. Trying to start, but it’s not starting. Tried to do what you did on the video, but the screen doesn’t come on. Advise please. Thank you
I had the same issue and took it to the dealership, they updated the software but in a week, same happened again. Back to the dealership, replaced spark plugs and rebooted. Now warning lights are gone but none of the sensors work. Can you please advise if that's a software issue, fuse issue, or something else? Thank you!
2019 Honda Civic here, and my setup is nearly the same. I’ve done the restart system several times as you did, and it still comes back. Mine is only triggered during the day when the sun is out. I believe either a control module is out, or my ADAS system needs calibrated or it’s a software issue, but it is 100% triggered by the heat/sun. The dealership wants $150 just to diagnose, but I have read the service bulletin on this and they are aware of the issue. In some cases a simple system software update fixes it. I’m about to bite the bullet and take it in and pray it’s not an arm and a leg.
It’s better now. Learning to fix things and Dwell on the good in your day too and when I old my grandkids will drive me around lol they smile when I say this
Once it happens, unless you fix the cause it will happen again after you reset it. Mine went 5000 miles after I reset it the first time before reappearing. After that the problem would reoccur anywhere from 1000 to 1700 miles, and the only way I could reset it is by disconnecting the negative battery cable for 15-30 minutes. After I reconnect it, the warning lights will still be there for a couple of minutes, then they will go off...until they come back. Here is a very simple way I think (crossing my fingers here) I may have resolved the problem for good. First, let me say that I did not see any real problem with my car. Everything works fine, just the lights going off. My battery, brakes, etc., are all good. I noticed that many people say the fuel injectors are a cause of this problem, so all I did was add some fuel-injector cleaner to my gas tank. I used one little bottle of STP fuel-injector cleaner. At first, the problem happened even sooner than usual: about 500 miles, then again after another 500 miles. Damn, I thought ! I made the problem worse. But something made me think that maybe the treatment had dislodged some "stuff" which then clogged up the system, so I added one more bottle to flush out whatever t was. It has now been about 4000 miles and my lights are gone ! First time it has gone over 1700 miles without the lights coming on. I have since read that some of these cleaners will clean some sensors that cause these multiple warning lights. Again, you can try this, but make sure your car does not have a real problem and the warning lights are truly false alarms. And I can only say this seems to have worked for me, but may not work for you.
You are awesome! Thank you for sharing this, you saved me lots of time, trouble and money! I did exactly what you recommended and it worked! Thank you!
Mine did this today while I was idled in the parking lot!? I had a panic attack! Is this safe!? Do I need to replace the battery still or should I take this to get looked at? Just resetting the car sounds dangerous to me. Especially since a lot of people say it’s still happening! I’ve had an airbag go off on me in my older car when it had dashboard issues like this so now I’m terrified of letting it go.
I know that this is a few years old, but I just had the same issue in my 2017 Honda CRV. I had to replace the battery and I followed the video to a T and unfortunately the lights are still there.😢 Any chance anyone has any suggestions?
Had the same problem 3 times, the dealer found a bad ignition coil (coil assembly) on the first cylinder the first time, on the second cylinder the second time and finally back to the first cylinder coil. They just swap them and every time it fixed the problem for a month or so ???. Now I just do it myself 🙂. The reset didn't work for me.
MINE DOES EXACT SAME!! Honda says it’s not a known issue and don’t want to deal with it you can find hundreds of complaints about this exact issues with all there product… it’s a software issue that is causing problem the codes don’t even store in computer as active or inactive
Hi, if this method could not solve your problem, have the vehicle scan with diagnostic machine. I had same challenge for several months and was detected to be faulty fuel injector on cylinder 1 and after replacing the injector, the ussue has been resolved.
The same thing is happening to me now- it has been for several months; I take off the battery and connect it again and the lights disappear, but come back every 3 days; The dealer is now saying it is the fuel injectors and they have to be replaced- total of$1700 dollars- my question is should I go and get a second opinion- I have a 2017 CRV touring

@@evierose9959 about 6 weeks ago we put in a bottle of fuel injector cleaner with a full tank and this problem went away. A week or so later it came back so we put another bottle of injector cleaner and this has been gone ever since. Fingers crossed but this was happening daily and it’s now gone

It worked on my Crv 2018. I has to so it twice without my home hooked in the car play. Thanks a bunch.
Thank you. Please subscribe to my channel.
I had the same issue with my 2018 CRV Thank you I tried this and it worked all the lights are gone.
This worked great, though I had to try more than once and moved the vehicle around a bit. But it worked, eventually! Thank you so much. I had tried other tricks prior to this which failed.
This just happened to me for the first time before leaving work. Your video saved me man, thank you.
You’re awesome man! Just saved me a trip to the dealership, and a bunch of cash!
Thanks brother, I am glad to hear it worked for you.
This happened to my crv ex 2019 and thank you and the lord for this video.
Thank you. I'm getting ready to try this. Up to this point opening & closing the gas cap door would correct the problem for a short time.
Worked on my Honda CRV 2017 touring. Thanks for sharing.
My errors came up in a hot summer day, while I was in parking (A/C was on) waiting.
@@HondaMomhave your warning lights came back on since the first reset? I also have a 2019 and this is the first time it’s happened.
Hey I have the same car maintained to a T… and I had this problem 1 time and this worked for me… not sure why my car did this but it hasn’t happened since… thinking my battery might be weak… but thank-you👍
This happened to my wife while driving this morning, its amazing
thank you
Not sure why Honda has these electrical issues, but thank you nonetheless! Happy new years🎉
This resolved my same issue! I have a 2028 Touring. However, it is worth noting that I did the reboot twice. It didn't appear to do anything UNTIL I put it in reverse to back out of the driveway! Once I started driving, the screen said, "system initializing" and the warning lights went away! Thank you so much, sir!
Sir you just fixed my problem! Thank you so much! 🙏🙏🙏
thanks, it's a good car but I really hate it when this happens. Glad you posted an easy fix!
Not working to my 2021 crv don't no why?
Thank you! I only traveled a few kilometers and the lights were removed from the dashboard
Had to do it twice, but then it worked. Thank you!!
Did this and it worked. Sadly same issue reoccurred a few days later😢. Guess I’ll be giving money to the dealership now😤
Thank you so much!
Thank you, that just happened to my Wife’s CRV and this just helped me fix it.🙏
Thank you. Please subscribe to my channel.
I loveee youuu!!!! You helped me soo much! My vehicle was stolen and thought something horrible was wrong !! This helped my 2020 crv.
Thank you. Please subscribe to my channel.
Did the lights stay off???
@@candidofiguereo5375 yess they diiiid!!!
I had the same issue, pulled the codes with a scanner, and cleared them, next day problem came back. took it to the dealership, and fixed it under warranty. they changed the "injectors". 2018 with 54k miles when it happened.
Thanks so much! It worked. Saved us a trip to the dealer.
My crv come back to life with this solution
I have never had a problem with this with any of my cars. I am never buying a honda again!
The dealer changed all my fuel injectors and the problem desapear im happy for it
So the problem is fuel injectors? Not a system?
Had the same issue on my 2018 CRV Touring, reboot it twice but the lights came back on in 24hrs each time. I replace the battery which was 4yrs old/factory battery and add a bottle fluid injector cleaner{Rislone} to a full tank of gas. Its been 2wks now and no warning lights. Knock on wood, btw located in NE where its cold.
The injector cleaner is working for you but will come back. The fuel injector are plugged up and need to be cleaned or replaced
Thanks for the info. I keep rebooting it but lights keep coming on
how's it doing now 10 months later? any update on your CRV? I have this exact problems
Same problem here on 2017 lights not going even after reboot
Cleaned spark plugs and injector fluid every oil change at 5k miles. Can’t afford injectors yet
Still not fixed. I’ve tried this 6 times so far, any other suggestions? Already changed the battery as well.
Thank you!! I've had to do this twice with my 2019 CR-V and it works!
I get it on my 2017 civic before ignition. So can’t be a missfire or injector
Your right it’s the injectors I had this problem for almost a year. I noticed injector cleaner helped out but kept coming back. I replaced the injectors and fixed the problem. Bought the injector on eBay for 300 bucks
@@markklecha5004 It was an ABS sensor.
Wish it worked on mine.
Still have the issue.
Still gave the video a "thumbs up"
My 2018 Honda crv I tried to reset it by following the same steps from your video but I’m still having the same problem warning lights.
Did yours work finally because mine isn’t still working
Hi. What did the dealer say? Is it fixed?
Have a 2023 crv sport hybrid power on all the time any solution please?
Thank you!!! This happened to me while driving this morning. This worked like a charm.
It’s better now. Learning to fix things and Dwell on the good in your day too and when I old my grandkids will drive me around lol they smile when I say this
I have a 2016 Honda CRV and the button on the lower left does not exist and there is No Reboot either. Any suggestions?
My ladies car had this issue just now.
Thanks!
Thank you!
Yo hize eso con el mío pero volvieron las luces
Thank you for the informative video!!! I was close to having it towed in!!!
Ive changed myself the 4 speed sensors and it worked for me. One of them it was broken but i did all of them.
Yeah, It's always better to get it checked out. Honda should already know about this issue and should be able to fix it for you.
It doesn't offer me the reboot, I did what you're instructed. My car is 2019 Honda Odyssey. Please help
Thank you very much you are the saver today❤❤❤❤❤❤
Excellent. Thank you for making this video. Solved my problem.
Worked on my 2020 CRV. Thank you sir!
I know that this is a few years old, but I just had the same issue in my 2017 Honda CRV. I had to replace the battery and I followed the video to a T and unfortunately the lights are still there.😢 Any chance anyone has any suggestions?
Had the same problem 3 times, the dealer found a bad ignition coil (coil assembly) on the first cylinder the first time,
on the second cylinder the second time and finally back to the first cylinder coil. They just swap them and every time
it fixed the problem for a month or so ???. Now I just do it myself 🙂. The reset didn't work for me.
😭 I was hoping this would finally fix this issue for me. I’ve been dealing with it on and off since 2020. This didn’t work for me unfortunately
Thanks for sharing, it worked perfectly on my CRV 2017 Touring
WHT is this not a recall? What is actually causing it? Mine is under warranty and u want to take it in
Thanks this just happened to me and it worked the second time!
My wife's 2018 crv was doing the same thing. She tried this and it still didn't fix it. Gonna change the battery again only after 2 years. What's wrong with this thing?
How about 2016 Honda CRV with the same problem? Pls help!
Does this work for the civic lx?
Excellent work! Thanks for posting this.
My mother has the same car. I cleaned all the grounds seemed to work for about a week then the problem came back we then tried to reset capasitors didnt help me and a couple buddies tried doing the radio reset again worked temporarily swapped out the battery and alternator il add that the car would die after a day or two of sitting we checked for a draw on the battery turned out the car was looking for the fob we then replaced the fob fues nothing fixed the issue so she sent it to a shop they came to the same diagnostic as me fues related we then sent it to honda to have it programed 2 weeks later all seems to be fine
Hi mine is 2012 crv. My neighbor told me for last over an hour my hazard lights were flashing so I checked the car and the battery almost died. So I had to call CAA to startup the car. What should be the problem? Just to let you know that 6 month ago I installed remote starter by auto work shop.
my 2022 CRV did this when they changed the windshield . this worked thanks
