It worked for me on my 2017 CRV. Upon reconnecting the battery, I started the engine and all the warning lighta came back on, I thought oh well it hasn't worked. I drove away and after a few hundred yards all the lights disappeared and have not returned. Thanks for the info Allan.
I have same problems on hrv 2018 went to Honda they said it was some comp issue and 3000 to fix. But the odd thing is these lights appeared the day after a guy at autozone put a new battery in my car. I don’t have 3000. And I need to get an emission stickers soon and will not pass with these lights. I’m stuck and this has caused me so many mental issues. Depressed and panic attacks because I can’t work without vehicle and I still owe 8k on my loan for this vehicle.
Touching the negative and positive cable together just to reset the ECU. There is another way to reset the ECU just pull the ECU relay. Thanks for asking.
@@afuentes3561 thanks my wife drove car over one of those ruffled roads under repair and the abs brake traction control and check engine light came on but the car is fine. Is there any danger in rubbing the negative and positive cables together like that?
This is wide spread. There is no fix other than going back and pay honda for the lemons we all own. This should be a recall. 2017 to 2020. Over 75% owners will experience this. Honda will never fix this.
If you have to 2 or 3 codes- Advance Auto can check it- Most are saying ir could be Fuel Injector & they replace all 4 injectors due to labor- check a good 3rd Party shop for quite some people got Honda to pay for part but Labor can be $700 from dealer
I went to two honda dealer first one he talk to me about the fuel injector the second one he talk about sensor one of my driver back wheel and he was right my wheel beariong sensor was gone cost me 400.00dollar@@robmaiker7092
One question. I have been told by honda that this is due to using ethanol added petrol. Any comments as from what i have seen its bullshit and an electronic problem. By the way, they quoted me $3300 to fix by changing injectors etc. i would dearly love to contact consumer affairs legal but would like as much information as possible before i go down that road !!

How long do you hold the two cables together for?
About 2-3 minutes
I think it was 2 min. I'm gonna try it today
This is a temporally fixed , you just have to do hard reset from the radio or the display screen
How to do that
@@KRZYCliff__He say factory reset on the screen radio...

Any update?
I don’t think you fixed anything. You just cleared the error temporarily.
after driving 5 minutes it comes back on again--just a very short relief!
Does engine running while disconnecting battery?
Nope
It’s been 6 months since i fixed it, i’m not sure we’ll see. We can reboot also to get rid of those
I have rebooted mine, nothing changed
How do you reboot ?
it works
Yes it is work
Didn’t work for me
What was the issue?
All you have done is reset the ECG.
Like a thief in the night. I can’t really see what’s going on with those cables. Why not do it in the daylight.
I have same problem…terrible
What was the issue?
The codes will not clear with a code clear machine either. Mechanic is baffled.
If that was comprehensible in American English, I will eat my hat.
Why the hell is he doing this shit in the dark. Wtf?
