Yep agree, with decent setup you can get like +20 or more to skills so 1 is truly enough. Or heck getting a 5 socket scepter with holy shield on it(even if just +1) and you can go with none and still get a nice high holy shield skill to use. Sure that scepter isn't easy to get but getting that for CTA and all, you can skip having to invest in that skill.
What are the real up and downside of ignoring most of the trash mobs in Chaos and just opening the seals fast? Like I think they still drop some loot if they are killed by opening the seals right? Do they give exp too? Do we just want to go for speed and kill diablo fast or do we want to get the extra drops from the trash there? The trash in chaos can still drop runes and other goodies ofc. Personally I always killed the trash but it does take a lot more time.
I agree that would be awesome! Maybe i'm not in the majority here but I really dont care about those lvl 90+ builds geared with HOTO and SoJs up the nose.
Druid to me was always one of the most frustrating classes to get going... also it never compared to the power index of other more-popular & more-effective D2 classes.
@@zanido9073D2 had little in the way of shortcomings, but one of them was surely class-balance of PvP v PvE. My great disappointment of the Druid was locked into how weak he was as a PvE performer. It was one thing they surely handled more proficiently in the era of D3, but of course its also fair to point out that beyond story arcs and game appearance there is little to compare between D2 and D3... so very many changes. I'm hopeful D4 will bridge those very differences ably and responsibly.
explain it to me, what is it that i don’t understand? if you have completed your build why do you go after magic find? not like you need to find more items?
As 75% fcr build for hardcore instead of zaka I prefer to use 35fcr spirit. Allows to use tg belt for light immunity. Add there dwarf and raven and you effectively have light, fire and cold immunity. This also gives a chance to use chance gloves for extra magic find. Without any skillers this setup gives 11k hammer damage which is more than enough. Additionally I like to put all extra skill points in holy bolt to speed up baal runs. For merc I prefer prayer aura. The heal might seem weak in paper but in practice I hardly ever use health potions. And for hardcore its also a safety thing as with prayer merc I always have 100% hp and not 90% or 80% as I would without it.
I feel like concentration buffs Hammer because before it got nerfed (they made hammer magic dmg) it was just pure damage kind of like tornado. Not that it was even really a big nerf they can still run the entire game with minimal resistances. Prior to that though literally nothing stopped hammerdins.
So.. I'm confused. Why would you worry about max fire res against a conviction aura seeing as how it lowers your res anyways? Wouldn't a Ral or Um run be better? Cause even with the max FR of 95, conviction is still going to take you well below your max. Unless any "extra" resists above your normal 75 max aren't added in after conviction takes you down? Which I don't think is the case, but admittedly I'm not sure.. TL;DR, how much does 95 max FR help when you only have 20 FR after conviction?
@@kahahabahaha yeah....they did...kind of. Put it this way, the chances of high runes dropping in D2 used to be like getting struck by lightning while being attacked by a shark. Now they're equal to you ~just~ getting struck by lightning. Ppl expecting to just drop Enigma in their perfect Archon plates after a couple weeks of playing will be sorely disappointed, I think.
Concentration adds an extra 5% per level to blessed hammers as a hidden synergy effect of the active aura if I remember correctly from my past days of mod making. On a further note should of seen what it did to other skills when I modded that feature in.
The reason concentration does this is because it was a bug at launch that people liked so the devs kept it. Most of us at that time were asking if that was the case to allow it to use another aura but the idea never got enough people behind so they left it alone ;(
Why would max fire res counter conviction? Wouldn't you want to overcap it instead? I might be wrong but I think thats what people do for uber trist mephisto
Always used CoA BerBer and HoZ setup combined with Defiance merc with Doom runeword. And would not run any character without CBF. But played mostly HC so wouldnt compromise survivability
CoA with 2 ral rune is an option also if you fear fire. That's what I give to my merc while doing Trav runs and it almost negate completly the conviction aura alone. It does up to 90 fire res (or more with a good rare jewel).
Noob question but in resurrected are stat respecs available? And if so how many? I remember in OG D2 there being a respec but can’t remember if it was a one shot or not. I ask because unless you are really good at planning ahead how do you know what your stats will be at max level. So a noob leveling up is there a level guide on what points to go where and by x level your stats should be Y?
Blessed hammers started as physical damage so they made conc work on them. Of course, before synergies became a thing hammerdins were an entire joke. Nobody touched them.
I really like to see a test video of max block sorc vs max vit sorc. I prefer the max block(or near max block) vs vitality sorc. Having 1000 less life but taking 1/4 hits, more armor(less dmg) is 100% more survival.
There's absolutely no question max block is the way to go as far as survivability goes. The math is very simple as you scale into late a5 hell. However there are some very specialized runner builds(with max faster hit recovery) that might want vit only so you wont get block locked as you blind teleport.
Hey mate, coming back after 10 years of playing, have a pretty good hammerdin already. For your future videos can you please show stats once stacked? Would love to see you stats once they’re at their max.
Can anyone tell me what the difference between running Chaos vs running Baal runs is?? Back when I played (12+ years ago at least) I remember most people did Baal runs, and I rarely saw people running Chaos Sanctuary.. Is there benefits for doing one over the other?
Baal runs are mainly for exp runs but can still find hrs and high end gear chaos runs to kill more mobs in the chance of finding gear and items little more
I'm sure this video is amazing, it sounds like you deff know what you are talking about. But as an old school player who never got into end game, trying to understand what you were saying almost gave me an anxiety attack. :P
Same man. I'm an old school d2 player that just normally played and now that it is returning I'm interested in how I can step up my experience and reach the more hard-core levels, but all these abbreviations and slangs is hard to understand for someone like me lol.
3 things you NEVER DO! You DON'T QUIT Diablo 2! You DON'T DISLIKE a Dbrunski125 vid! And you just DON'T mess with 'Cratos' ! aka 1:23 thanks for all the content!
Great video as always. Is there any chance for a bow amazon guide? I know it's not a popular build but maybe some people play it. I like it a lot and it can be quite powerful with elite gear (faith+reaper's toll merc etc)
Faith Bowzon was one my my favorite characters. I used a1 merc with Harmony for the vigor aura to get around quickly. Strafe and multishot are just so fun
That's a good idea. I can name a few off the top of my head.. goreriders, HoZ, eth Titans, arreats, magefist... just gotta look at items and ask yourself if you're OK with trading higher stat and level requirements for better damage/defense mostly. For example, personally I would never up magefists for a sorc, but some people up them for other class build. Only up items with pretty good to perfect Stat rolls. Some Ethereal items like HoZ(zod) and Titans are almost always upped, whereas non-ethereal Titans are usually just sold to charsi or dropped in a mule-dumping game for noobs. Eth Titans is sooo much better since it has auto replenish mod.
I would say a lot of D2 first time players are not even aware of builds and rune words. When D2 first came out in the 90's I think the most common first character people played was the barbarian.
What turns me off with Hammerdin is that the attack has to be bound to left click in order to run the aura meaning you either have to hard target or shift + click. I probably didn't mind it as much at the time but after years of rebinding left click to move only and right click as the primary attack in PoE it's going to be really hard to get back in to.
You basically get spirit sword and shield, peasant crown, vmagi or skullders to MF, caster rings, etc... then you run around with charge and hammer shit down in areas like trav, chaos sanc, eld, shenk, pits, etc... for CS get a tele staff and just port over the maze shit.
Id go holy fire zealot for a long while until you can get spirit in one or both hands. Mana was a HUGE issue for me early hammerdin when i was level 23ish
sorry for the dumb question but when you say max block do you mean the profile max block highliting defense or the %block 75 on shield. My holy shield puts my shield block at 75 but my profile is at about 55%. Guessing I need more dex?
Make sure to turn on the holy shield skill “when the shield glow yellow”. With holy shield active, you spend less point in dex to get 75% block. Then look into your character profile stats: look at the defense part. Increase dex until its 75% block while holy shield is active. Don’t just look at your shield 75% block only , its the character profile block that is also important.
Hammerdins have mana issues early on. Once you get an insight on your mercenary it gets better. Plus using spirit sword and shield gives you a ton of extra mana to play with as well.
There will probably be a lot of players with less knowledge that pick up D2 resurrected, I think it's worth noting that the hammerdin is strong with Enigma because any movement reduces your block chance to 25%. If you're repositioning purely off of teleport your block essentially never drops below 75% even though you're "moving around" during combat. You take less damage with holy shield and you're less susceptible to just getting insta-killed when repositioning.
This might be a popular build, but I still think sorcs are gonna reign supreme at first. My plan is to just MF and gear up a sorc and start key farming in hell to sell for high runes. Make my infinity, fortitude, CoA, and buy torch/anni. THEN I'll consider starting a new character and just gear share. Won't be hard to make an enigma after a few keyset sales. I think my buddy is planning on making a hammerdin so I might just help gear him up for that and focus on my sorc full-time. We'll be able to farm chaos/baal runs faster together with a sorc since we won't have enigma for a while. Either way, I'm excited to play in a fresh D2 economy without mods and hopefully a good player base will make trading less painful.
I don't know... not having bots means runewords will actually be really hard to come by. My guess is the most popular build will be the MF sorc followed by the zealadin and the ww barb.

Is this the same as your new video that is the running hammerdin
What are the real up and downside of ignoring most of the trash mobs in Chaos and just opening the seals fast?
Like I think they still drop some loot if they are killed by opening the seals right? Do they give exp too?
Do we just want to go for speed and kill diablo fast or do we want to get the extra drops from the trash there?
The trash in chaos can still drop runes and other goodies ofc.
Personally I always killed the trash but it does take a lot more time.
Please do some getting started HC builds
I agree that would be awesome! Maybe i'm not in the majority here but I really dont care about those lvl 90+ builds geared with HOTO and SoJs up the nose.
I'm over here hyped about playing a shapshifter druid
Druid to me was always one of the most frustrating classes to get going... also it never compared to the power index of other more-popular & more-effective D2 classes.
@@hardryv3719 wind and bear druid were strong in pvp
I leveled a shape-shifter to hell once. It wasn't very fun to me. My buddy used to have a fireclaw bear and would wreck in pvp with it
@@zanido9073D2 had little in the way of shortcomings, but one of them was surely class-balance of PvP v PvE. My great disappointment of the Druid was locked into how weak he was as a PvE performer. It was one thing they surely handled more proficiently in the era of D3, but of course its also fair to point out that beyond story arcs and game appearance there is little to compare between D2 and D3... so very many changes.
I'm hopeful D4 will bridge those very differences ably and responsibly.
explain it to me, what is it that i don’t understand? if you have completed your build why do you go after magic find? not like you need to find more items?
does anyone know what he's casting as soon as he goes to the river of flame waypoint? it seems to increase his life by 1000+?
MF sorc is gunna be the most popular starting toon.
My second toon will be a zealot
Isn't zealot a little gear dependant? Everyone will speed level a MF sorc for a farm toon then slowly expand out from there
@@Jspath3 yeah but I can gear him up with the sorc.
And the zealot is my favorite build
thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos, it helps remind us so much so we dont mess up our build! cant wait for d2r
Can we get a item and skill list in description would be a nice add
Well I never managed to get an Enigma through all my time playing D2. Maybe in D2R?
I think they buffed high rune droprates in recent patches, so if you haven't played those, maybe it's more achievable now?
@@kahahabahaha yeah....they did...kind of.
Put it this way, the chances of high runes dropping in D2 used to be like getting struck by lightning while being attacked by a shark.
Now they're equal to you ~just~ getting struck by lightning.
Ppl expecting to just drop Enigma in their perfect Archon plates after a couple weeks of playing will be sorely disappointed, I think.
I heard they are not bringing enigma to ressurected for awhile after launch
Why have every slot occupied for MF when you have no place to put stuff when you DO find it...... Just wondering
Will the necromancer and assassin be in Diablo 2 remastered???
I would agree that 125 FCR is the best . Some people go with 75 FCR - but after you do 125 - you never want to go back ....
What are some other Palatin builds for early game ??
@Miniguwara thank you!! What mage build should I do for leveling up?
Concentration adds an extra 5% per level to blessed hammers as a hidden synergy effect of the active aura if I remember correctly from my past days of mod making. On a further note should of seen what it did to other skills when I modded that feature in.
Thank you for your content pal! I appreciate it. Also this video makes me want to build a hammerdin for the first time. Seems really powerful. Cheers
Is there a specific reason why everyone makes HOTO in a flail?
@dbrunski125 might need a budget hammerdin guide for the start of the season lol
I fully agree with BK rings and insight. People think i'm stupid. I'm like, what do you need the mana for? "DRRRrrrr umm..."
With D2 Resurrected releasing your channel must be booming Dbrunski :D
Anyone know if there will be two modes like before? The non xpac version and the xpac version? Not interested in lod at all lol...
How much damage does your hammer do
Dbrunski is just showing off that he's so rich he doesn't have to check drops when doing Chaos runs.
To be fair, it's single player and his char is pretty much min-maxed already. What's to find?
Definitely going Trapsin or hybrid Necro
Hi any suggestions for Baal runs, how do you deal with 8 players 2nd wave? Thanks.
Put the rest of ur skill points in holy bolt instead of holy shield
Pray. Just kidding. In 8 players you hope one is a decently geared and leveled sorc.
Ok but have you played as Necromancer?
Do we know if charge bug is still a thing in D2R?
In diablo 2 lod 1,14 d i still have bug for paladin charge . Is it fixed in diablo 2 ressurected ?
Should I play SP or on Bnet when D2R comes out?
With diablo 2 remastered, does anyone know if the console versions will have mouse and keyboard support?
This is a joke right?
Noob question but in resurrected are stat respecs available? And if so how many? I remember in OG D2 there being a respec but can’t remember if it was a one shot or not. I ask because unless you are really good at planning ahead how do you know what your stats will be at max level. So a noob leveling up is there a level guide on what points to go where and by x level your stats should be Y?
If I'm not mistaken the Concentration + Hammer combo was a bug and after some consideration was left like that and that's how H-dins were born...
Any reason you did not upgrade your boots? (to elite)
Baal runs are mainly for exp runs but can still find hrs and high end gear chaos runs to kill more mobs in the chance of finding gear and items little more
@@quadepowerof4 Got it, that definitely makes sense. Chaos better for MF, Baal runs better for EXP. thanks man!!
Faster cast rate = good
Always hated it when people use acronyms in "explanation" videos. Not much was explained to me, sadly.
I agree 100% this video does a terrible job of explaining anything, other than to players who already are lifers at this game. Not well done at all.
Tellezon once I get rolling. But a source will be first. So easy to build them
this is gonna be the most popular after awhile. for first several months itll be blizz sorc cuz no enigmas
First few weeks*
And it's one of the reasons I'll avoid it at all costs.
Can not wait for d2r!!!
3 things you NEVER DO!
You DON'T QUIT Diablo 2!
You DON'T DISLIKE a Dbrunski125 vid!
And you just DON'T mess with 'Cratos' ! aka 1:23
thanks for all the content!
12:20 those who are new to diablo 2 wont understand the things you have been saying
One question - why PlugY 10.00?
Great video as always. Is there any chance for a bow amazon guide? I know it's not a popular build but maybe some people play it. I like it a lot and it can be quite powerful with elite gear (faith+reaper's toll merc etc)
I was def thinking bowazon next
@@Dbrunski125 Cool
Faith Bowzon was one my my favorite characters. I used a1 merc with Harmony for the vigor aura to get around quickly. Strafe and multishot are just so fun
I don't know if you have done this already but can you make a video talking about the unique items worthy of upgrading using the cube recipe?
Do you know which patch will D2R start at?Or will it be an entirely new patch?
Could you make such a tutorial only for a starting hammerdin (post-wipe)? Missing key items like Enigma, HOTO or shako.
Realistically, how many hours /played to get that gear AS the hammerdin (not using another character)? 500? 2000?
How's the FoH shock aura synergy build ?
sorry for the dumb question but when you say max block do you mean the profile max block highliting defense or the %block 75 on shield.
How do you teleport around the map like that?
Does life and mana leach still work for hammers?
You are gonna walk the chaos sanctuary until the Ber and Jah drops?
Glad your video release corresponds with my insomnia. Those ads were wild btw. 😅
Hi there, love the guide! I'm following and respeced at 18 but having significant mama issues. How do you mitigate this?
Hammerdins have mana issues early on. Once you get an insight on your mercenary it gets better. Plus using spirit sword and shield gives you a ton of extra mana to play with as well.
@@ryansnapp9616 thanks for the heads up! Guess he'll take a back seat until I can farm those runes!
Did you strength bug your merc?
Ww barb is horrible pvm. It’s my favorite character for pvp, but I would never roll a barb for pvm.
@BT that’s why I’ll be playing on console to avoid all the bots. PC is and always will be a botfest for any game.
@BT Apparently they are putting quite a bit of work to stop bots.
how you set plays to 7 on xbox?
Hey Diablo 2 resurrected , will you be able to transfer the items from regular Diablo 2 old?
Or is every body starting fresh etc
