Hi doctor, whay dose of finasteride do you typically start men on? There have studies that show doses as low as 0.5mg a day works as well as 1mg a day. What are your thoughts on this?
Thank you so much for such a comprehensive review! For female pattern hair loss , do you have a preference between oral spironolactone vs minoxidil? Also, does oral spironolactone cause hypertrichosis or does that only occur with minoxidil? Thank you!
Thank you for the wonderful, helpful video, Dr Kannan. Would minoxidil 5% be helpful for baldness due to chronic seborrheic dermatitis, where the scalp is always greasy and it almost always feels like there’s a greasy sticky dandruff attached to the scalp (most evident after shower, on wet scalp) and if one’s on Clobetsol propionate 0.05% + salicylic acid lotion for the scalp? Kindly shed your thoughts on this, thank you again.
Some of the studies says pumpkin seed oil is good for androgenetic alopecia is it true? If it is true applying it topically or orally which is better? I have slight receding in my hair line over a 3 year...may be stage 1 or before stage 1. Can minoxidil grow the hair in the shedded area and correct my hair line?
Pumpkin seed oil., rosemary oil- they're all similar. They arent harmful but won't be as helpful as 5% minoxidil or higher. And it can perhaps help grow the hair if started earlier but if the follicles are gone, then it won't help to correct the hair line.

Hi, thank you for watching. Oral spironolactone and minoxidil can be used together. Minoxidil orally causes hypertrichosis, not spironolactone.

Hi you can Defn try minoxidil. You’d have to use for 6 months at least to see results. 5% is what I recommend to everyone.
