Thank you for this! Overcoming "people bondage" is a such a real thing. I am learning how to trust God despite the opinions of others.
THIS. IS. FOR. ME.
I am the epitome of someone in people bondage. I've been hiding in my home for 3 years! out of fear of being negatively judged by peers. I even hide from family members. I'm so embarrassed by my physical appearance and financial predicament. This is a result of me being consistently attacked for my physical appearance pretty much all my life. After awhile I said, "that's it, I've had enough." And just hid from people. So has my twin sister. I'm so scared because God wants me to just humble myself and just go out but I feel stuck. I'm to afraid of possibly being attacked again and ending up worse than now.
I even said "well maybe if I just lose weight and get my skin in order, I'll feel good enough to go out." But God doesn't want me to do that either which makes this 10x harder. He doesnt want me to "ehnace my image" but simply humble myself.
I think all my failed attempts were because of him. I do struggle with ego and i think a better physical appearance will make me even more self-obbsessed but I see that as better than sitting in here doing nothing.

What has really helped me with physical beauty issues and I was severely insecure but first making sure I know my value and worth in gods eyes and his great love for me "I have loved you with a love that lasts forever. I have kept on loving you with a faithful love." (Jeremiah 31:3) and if you have read the book of Jeremiah we are really the ppl of Israel (sin wise) but God still wanted to make a way so we are right with him and connected even tho we deserve punishment for our sins. Second thing is meditate on this verse "Braiding your hair doesn't make you beautiful. Wearing gold jewelry or fine clothes doesn't make you beautiful. INSTEAD YOUR BEAUTY COMES FROM INSIDE YOU. It is the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. BEAUTY LIKE THAT DOESN'T FADE AWAY. GOD PLACES GREAT VALUE ON IT. (1 Peter 3:3) I needed to come to the realization my appearance doesn't define me and my beauty is in Christ and Christ only and personally for me the reason why I wanted to be "beautiful" so much is for
Other ppls approval and "I have to be beautiful enough for a man" but other ppls approval is irrelevant to the creator of the heavens and earths. "God places great value on" he places great value on the beauty inside you not the mask of outside appearance that fades away in a matter of years. Think about Jesus he had no appearance to draw ppl to him (forgot the verse) and he was a walking by miracle and God in the flesh. So bear in this battle and know your beauty is defined by what is in your spirit. So don't be consumed by beauty standards something that also has help me with appreciated issues was also not looking in the mirror as much, it has helped me to not continuously focus on my flaws which is what I used to do. Chanel Dionne I feel the same way! I struggle with this a lot, but what really convicted me was when she said to stop making excuses about not being able to to what God APPOINTED us to do. Immediately I started thinking that means that everything we think are setbacks and limitations could actually be the exact ingredients needed to make an impact and reach others. I pray constantly that God allows me to see myself the way He sees me because I do want my life to please Him, and that will be my prayer for you as well. 💕😊
I am there too. Years of isolation from a REAL caring family of God. Tired of it all. See relief in my imagination but never works out in life.
Even I discovered this . . . Gods people need a lot of help. They walking around in silence dying inside, screaming so loud but nobody can hear them. . . Bless you... (I also preached to the wall LOL : ))))))))))

I found you and your ministry because of God! You are truly anointed; God led me to you, really. I had never heard of you and I was listening to other preachers then you just popped up and I needed to hear from you because God needed to talk to my heart and He did it through you! Wow, thank you for this word. Such a timely word - going through this now in new work place. But have always struggled with being “people bound” which caused me to shrink into background, also a victim of domestic violence- taught me to submit to lowest point. I thought I had overcome. I will give to God these emotional self beatings. I pray God remove the root cause of this same problem disabling me all my life. I’m now 50!
Wow! This was definitely on-time! It seems that I was launched into the deep, past my insecurities, etc and then abandoned by those who encouraged me during that time. This video has reminded me to push past the thoughts, feelings, fears, and insecurities, with or without "support".
True Love Wait was out in the 90s. It is a ministry for younger people through college. A book I Kissed Dating Goodbye is a great book that encourages young people to wait for God's best.

Timely! Thank you for this word Heather, it spoke directly to me. Have been feeling like I'm not good enough to do what I know God is calling me to do (become a lawyer to speak out on behalf of the voiceless) because I'm finding law school so difficult at the moment. I always feel like I'm not the smartest, I don't have the best grades, and I'm definitely not the most articulate or well-read person. I know that none of that matters to God, but those thoughts often creep up in my mind and it's hard to shake them off. Will keep pressing into God and praying away those insecurities and worries.
