The saddest thing is I do believe some part of Fisk wants to die, to be relieved from his pain and making Maya do it while he saw as some kind of twisted gift would only force her to end up like him
An interesting note, if you keep the subtitles on during the scenes with Kingpin and his eye unmasked, the subtitles point out faint electronic noises. Meaning that Fisk's new eye must be a straight up cybernetic replacement, not just a glass or crystal one for show.
I haven't seen this much tension between to Marvel characters since honestly Jessica Jones and Kilgrave and that is saying A lot!

I love the pattern of the episode titles. Very smooth and subtle message for Maya.
Fisk cares about Maya, yeah, but in the only way Fisk can care about someone. His love is toxic. Hell, it isn't even love. It's possession. His love says "If I can't have you, no one can."
Kingpin’s eye looks fine. Just some scratches around it. Starting to wonder if that’s his real eye or crystal eye 😂😂😂

Does he love her though? How you love her and in all these years you never learned how to communicate with her? Instead of hiring and killing interpreters, he should have asked one of them to actually teach him sign language so he could have talked to Maya directly. Notice all her actual loved ones, shit, maybe even the entire town, learned it so they could talk to her. Fisk just looking for a substitute child to make up for the one he lost.

Kingpin appeared like a jump scare in the last episode.
I know it's kinda wrong, but I was laughing when little Maya kicked that A-hole also. I didn't feel sorry for that guy at all. You shouldn't be mean like that to a kid.
That signing interpreter signed everything that they discussed so she definitely was a loose end. That's why I wasn't surprised, but Kingpin is a cold blooded business man that does whatever to keep things quiet until he's ready to get wild with it. Now I'm different and would only take people out as a last resort if I was a criminal type. I'd put the interpreter in a type of witness relocation situation where they know that you are taken care of for your service to me only if you stay there. If you try to leave or tell anyone about my business you're sleeping with the fishes.
The grandma performance definitely was great in this episode, but I wish there was more back story about Taloa being a healer like with the other ancestors. Maybe her mother's hands glowed with the power of the ancestors when she laid hands on people who were sick to heal them would've been a really nice reveal. The episode was named "Taloa", but we didn't even see much of her at all except for maybe a flashback.
I'm actually wondering if Kingpin didn't have anything to do with the death of Maya's father and it was just Kazi in Hawkeye wanting to move up the ladder by getting her father and his crew out of the way. Although Kingpin could've also told Kazi that if he leaked the info to Ronin he'd move him up in the Tracksuit Mafia.
The end credits Native song was hitting. It had me tapping my foot the whole time.

I didn't feel sorry for his ass either. He knew Maya couldn't speak for whatever reason and then wanted to mock her and tell her use your words. He could have pointed to the words on his cart or something to figure out what she wanted.

They disrespected Kingpin by not giving him the same Claw Hammer ( a much more violent weapon) that he used in Netflix by giving him a tiny ass Ball Peen Hammer in this show 🤦
I don't think it's actually THE hammer. He's just full of shit and got a random hammer to represent his killing his dad and to guilt Maya
You see how many different interpreters he had?? Now you know why!!
I thought this show had some good moments but it felt like they cut a lot out of it. I just feel like 5 episodes isn't enough

If the Kingpin wasn't a villan I'd be disgusted in his brutality, the guy at the icream vendor may have been a dick, but he really didn't deserve that beating.
