I'm not sure if you've figured this out yet, but getting the coke oven and creosote oil actually unlocks your ability to create a 'primitive water pump' multiblock, which automatically produces water at no cost, and also auto-outputs from its hatches, essentially solving any problems you might have when it comes to running out of water for your boilers. Also, steam boilers auto output steam from any face OTHER than the bottom. This means that if you wanted to use wooden fluid pipes to transport water, you could connect them to the bottom face of your boilers and have absolutely zero risk of the pipes accidentally burning up! I'm enjoying the series so far, and I hope you're having fun with it! edit: should've watched the rest of the video before commenting ^^;
You playing this got me into it and got addicted. I just wanna give some tips. The barrel can auto-output from the bottom, you just need to use a screwdriver on it. You can macerate bricks normally to get the full amount instead of the mortor. The primitive pump is like the large barrel in gtnh, that also auto-outputs. And lastly, make multiple coke ovens and primitive blast furnaces, cuz i waited forever for those to get enough for later crafts
if you havent already figured it our by now. The thing that breaks cbbl and spits it out the top. If you put a block above it keeps them inside, AND THEN you can hopper the items out the bottom. Other wise you cant. Its very weird haha
If you want to know why there are variants of the crushed ore/dust, it is to extract extra resources from them. Sometimes certain materials require this kind of ore processing to get. In Nomifactory there was an entire JEI page for each ore's processes, but it's not here from what I've seen.
@@gardenofgrindThe JEI page does exist, you can see it at 25:50, it's the one with the ore on it. You start in the top left with the ore block/raw ore, then you follow the line through the machines of choice until you reach the product/byproducts you want to acquire. Do note that maceration byproducts (and only the maceration byproducts) do not happen until HV macerators and above, so steam macerators can't get the cobalt out of copper at 19:35, but you can use LV centrifuges to get gallium out of sphalerite.
I think to some sort of automate an extractinator you have to put a hopper on it for input and place extractinator on a hopper for output, gregtech terminal is useful because it places multiblocks if you right-click a controller of that multiblock with a terminal with the required blocks in your inventory and i think a primitive water pump will be good for supplying your boilers without constant need of refilling them by hand
I bet you've probably already figured this out, but (as I read it), the quest for the extractinator says you should put a barrel above the top of the extractinator to block item output, and to place a hopper beneath it to extract the ores automatically. I could be wrong, but I think it's automate-able
The above quest with the coke oven is the quest with the way to make infinite water, if I remember correctly. Upd. I probably need to watch video a bit longer and not to say what the author has already seen)
If 4 tiny diamond in a forge hammer makes a diamond and then diamond macerates into a full dust then I see the potential of an infinite money glitch here
I started playing this pack yesterday. Its fun! I noticed that there is a steam block breaker which looks like it can make cobblestone. I haven't tried it yet though
I was wondering if you couldn't macerate the bricks or terracotta... (Also if terracotta gives 4 times as much dust as bricks, it would save on time and fuel)
You can't macerate individual bricks, but you can macerate brick blocks for the full dust value (although honestly I'd prefer the flower pots because it's just as efficient, and crafting brick blocks with buckets of water is painful) As for clay, you can macerate clay balls, clay blocks, and terracotta, all for the full 1 dust per clay ball (as opposed to the mortar which is 1/4 that) Overall, steam macerators are very very useful if you want to build multiple primitive blast furnaces (and you really really should, as well as multiple coke ovens, both of them are slowww)
you’re living in the qol age of gregtech, emi has made it 200% more bearable. also I recommend either moni or star technology, star technology seems to have resource generation way earlier than nomi. i’ve only played nomi, which has hostile neural network and only gets automated in MV.
Sorry it’s a tad longer, I got carried away…
:P
ps Flower Pots for the win!!!
Try 2x2 drawers for your bonsai pot so you don't need to take out saplings and apples
longer video are great too, as long as we get vids i think everyone happy lol
I might be wrong, but I think you don't need to turn the bricks into flower pots. You could just macerate the bricks directly to get the full dust?
@@Hyglott you make 1 per 1 for operation instead of 1 per 3, so with pots you are cutting time by 3.

@@gardenofgrind At 23:20 you can see there is a way to extract extra cobolt at a 10% chance, for example

Thanks, yea I figured it out the end but I’m more interested in getting things set up before I tackle that properly
Fun fact you can use a hopper to push items into GT pipes for early game automation
Does the hopper need to face down? Cuz when it faces side way it doesn't push for me.
@@_muciek_ I placed the pipe first then the hopper pointing into the pipe don’t rotate the hopper with a wrench

Actually, the boiler blows up because you put cold water into a hot boiler
Fair point!
I was feeling a sense of dread for the minute or so leading up to that

trying the pack out, it is really funny if you put your axtractinator below the cobblestone of your cobblestone generator
Awesome!
lol I bet it is like a fountain haha
@@gardenofgrind yh, it looks very nice, and i can imagine the extractinator is pretty automatable when you get acces to conveyors and the rock crusher

Give it a try

btw, the fluid heater setup can be made pretty small and extendable, also pls read about water sources, they work like cobblestone generators

the crafting table stick can be opened with a key bind and placed in the bauble slot.
I think you right click with the terminal to open it up.

Why don't you put a water source to make a water slide on that extractinator such that the water pushes the items to a hopper?

yes, some will burn but it would be automatic

starting it where its painful microcrafting overwhelmes most people but it becomes nice thing to play once you get to hv

why not star technology?
