In regards to the cables, the voltage on the cable is the maximum voltage that a cable/wire can carry, it will carry a lower voltage without problem but a higher voltage will burn it, the voltage will always be determined by the provider, in this case the steam turbine. You do still have to respect the amp limits of a cable even if you're under its max volts, that Silver wire can only carry 8 amps no matter if these are HV or LV amps, anymore and it will burn. As for why the wire didn't electrocute you I believe power must be flowing through a wire in order to give a shock and since all the machines had their internal buffer filled when you touched it there was no power flowing. If you wanna fact check this start one of the machines and then touch the cable :D Love the series and can't wait for the next episode!
but i remember using silver 4 amp cable and put like 9-10 lv turbines, it didnt burn. I think it only counts maximum voltage e.g. 4 amps hv = 2048, so if u put 10 amps lv it will be only 320, which is fine for cable...
@@basedfrfr gtnh uses a request based system not a push based system, so if you have 10 turbines on a 4 amp cable, but only 4 machines running that pull 1 amp each then you'll be fine, but if you had 10 machines pulling 10 amps total across the cable then it would burn.

A little tip, using the forge hammer can make you 2 rubber plates per 3 ingots (now that you have the bender it’s 1 to 1). Those rubber plates can be combined with the wire, 1 wire and 1 plate, and poof, you have a cable insulated :) Note: this only works with early game cables, not any of the late game ones as they will have to be coated in other things (polymers) Another thing I would recommend is getting a chemical reactor (don’t know if that’s the name or not) for rubber sheet production if you are having a hard time getting raw rubber/sulfur. It has a recipe waaay more efficient than alloy smelting, only downside being it outputs liquid rubber, so you would need 2 machines for the operation :)
I can't describe how happy the new NEI recipe bookmark features have made me, it's really incredible work the devs have done. It makes the microcrafting way more manageable.
I'm not smart enough to know any tips but I really just wanted to comment to say I love this series. I found you initally through your other channel and was kinda thrilled to find this channel for more content ngl because you're personality is really calm but fun, and it's relaxing.
The Sound fix was F3 + T, probably - reloads the resource pack(s) and also re-initializes the sound engine. This is especially important if you change the sound device frequently (e.g. a bluetooth headset that gets dis-/reconnected) as Minecraft up until at least 1.12 didn't detect that and so you had either no sound or it continues playing through the old output. With the Wiremill and Bender you have already surpassed where I'm currently at, I need to pick up the pace again. x) Keep up the great fun!
You sitting on an endless redstone supply! Centrifuge -> you get pyrite -> electrolise -> iron + sulfur. Don't remember if pyrite is LV electroliser recipe or not.. But even if not, its worth doing, since you can smelt it into iron. And excessive amounts of mercury can be turned into energy. (Fill battery with it, and when it drains out - use extractor to recover the battery hull). I made a closed cycle centrifuge + canner + extractor automatically refilling single-use batteries and it actually runs with net gain.. so you don't need external energy source for this setup. Oh.. and battery buffer for batteries. you can use filter to extract depleted battery and automatically refill it yadda yadda.. :)
and later in game i was setting up a 4 redstone plants with HV/MV world accelerator in center.. and some automatic block breaking blocks, which harvesting redstone blocks. with this setup, they grow so fast, that you need pretty fast machinery to process the input. :)

You'll need to make another BBF for quest purposes, but that'll be fine because having more BBFs always helps. I would suggest bulk crafting 3 more bbfs and the necessary firebrick quantity when you get to the quest. There are two other quests which will ask for making a wallshared quad BBF plus up to in 256 steel ingots, so keep that in mind. Then once you complete that BBF quest as well as get to the nether quest, you can get the 2 stacks of rubber ingots to trigger the quest skip.
You should be very careful with using over-tiered cable for your base wiring. Right now when you don't have a way of putting anything higher than LV packets of energy into the system, it's not possible to boom your machines with it. But once you get to MV, if you *ever* put that MV voltage on the HV wires and there's an LV machine somewhere connected on the line that you forgot was there, KABOOM. It's much easier to forget these things when you don't use the correctly rated cable, particularly when you're in the process of upgrading old parts of a base to a new tier. I fear you are setting future Dan up for a bigger boom than you bargained for! Also, whilst not always the case, the higher tier of cables tend to have more amperage loss per block which becomes very bad the lower the packet size (it's very notable in LV, not so much past HV). So whilst you could definitely get away with using these as a stop-gap solution, I would quickly swap to Tin Cables once you get the capacity to make enough of them.
You can actually insert items to the smeltery with a hopper facing into the controller. You can even have a chest on top the hopper, and pipe items into that chest.
