- Hello,
This is my epic journey through a brand new Minecraft modpack called Sky of Grind aka "SoG".
I stumbled across this pack, which the devs have been inspired by other well-known Gregtech packs, such as GTNH and NomifactoryCEu(Monifactory) to name a few...
But what really caught my attention was the fact that it has the word "Grind" in the title.
If you know me, I can't resist the temptation!😂
It's a pack which also uses modern gregtech(1.20.1) so I'm very excited to play and see how it all works in the latest version of the game.
I'm playing and recording this through the Curseforge Minecraft modpack Launcher.

even thought the wording on the extractinator is pretty clear, not everybody understands that blocks can have inventory which can be hoppered out
i couldnt find your pack from the name in curse forge. Had to type in your name and it showed up. maybe you need to put in some search terms like under youtube videos. I have no idea though
it's always fun to me when people come out of gtnh into a different "grindy" pack, and they are just feeling spoiled the whole way through
Solid block on top of the machine to keep the items In The Machine. Hopper under the machine to extract the items from the machine. Vanilla mechanics Dan lolol

the wording of the quest is pretty ambiguous. I also struggled with it myself and then watched this video and saw him struggle too lol

If the extractor breaks cobble above it into items, then you could put it under a cobble gen for automatic resource generation.

What the Extractinator quest really should have said was “You can place a block above the machine to make the items stay inside the machine and you can extract them with a hopper.”
Garden of Grind without the hour and a half of initial grinding to have somewhere to stand
important to note, modern gregtech is based on greg tech community edition unofficial (GTCEu), while GTNH is based on greg tech 5. there are SOME differences, but nothing major. also the modern version is incomplete, i've played with it in the past, it seem to be way more developed than what it was back then, but its still far from complete. so take that into account if you plan on going to the higher tiers of voltage like ZPM.

GTCEu is done up to around UHV-UIV, so theres quite a lot of content
the higher voltages are either done by modpack devs or are just not there, like monifactory has up to OpV iirc

niceee I have been following your GoG series a bit sad that you stopped playing... BUT If you get good at Gregtech you should try another run
DRP is not a series finisher. At all haha. But enjoy the ride regardless...it's about the journey, not the destination

Oh and also yeah, it definitely feels a lot more lenient than GTNH, especially the GoG version. If you feel the itch for more of a challenge/grond, you could always go back to your old world ;)

I have seen monifactory that is also greg tech with version 1.20 I think. You may enjoy it too. It's the modern version of nomifactory.

and u can make coble gen above EXTRATINATOR and near place hoper pipe or some thing like that.
P.S. Closest collector to you is "Basic Item Collector" or Vacum chest
I think if you want to extract items from the Extractinator to the hopper you need to place the hopper under and place the block towards to not pop out the items.

I think in JEI you can press a on items to book mark them. They go to the top left.
Zpm means zero point module? Like the energy source of stargate Atlantis maybe?
Yup, the GregTech devs have gone on record, at least last I checked, that they are a fan of StarGate. (The ZPM actually first showed up in SG-1, not SGA) Naquadah and Naquadria are also from Stargate.
So, not sure on the other tiers, but ZPM is short for "Zero Point Module" a fancy sci-fi power source from the series StarGate (Which, is also where Naquadah/Naquadria come from, actually.)

@@gardenofgrind gtnh is huge, so starting over is never a good idea, but spending time to remember the world is. i had my hopes, but i guess its over

Yes, then after that I think I'll go back in time to 1.7 and start GoG round 2...(that's the plan)
Once you get a mising machine you will see better recipes for making bronze.

Seems like an interesting pack so far; you sound disappointed though... no saw needed for planks, no gloves needed for a bucket of lava... lol.

At the start it defo seems that way compared to GTNH, but it does have some interesting multiblock structures from what I've seen on the discord of the pack which should provide some challenges :P
