This is absolutely the review I needed to see. After upgrading from logitech to fanatec I'm looking for my next immersive upgrade. The whole "iN rEaL LiFe, tHeRe iS nO WiNd" crowd got into my head and made me doubtful, but honestly adding wind seems like the easiest way to give a tactile sense of motion/speed. I was debating going the DIY route but I really like the wind curving feature of the SRS kit and achieving that with a DIY setup would be way over my head.
Agreed mate, it's not always about how things are IRL, our motion systems feels nothing like real life for the most part and yet everybody loves them! lol Anything that adds to the fun and gives us another form of physical feedback about what our car is doing (in this case speed) is a bonus IMO :)
Thanks for the discount code! Cant wait to try these, been looking at them for a while. Im in a space where I cant really get a fan in front of my rig anymore, and I really miss it. I'm thinking in VR this should be a cool upgrade to the old fan setup!
Hi Karl, got a brand new g29 Less than 2 weeks ago, u had any problems that when u plug it all in the wheel doesn’t spin and calibrate on its own? U know how to fix this? Cheers, loves ur videos
The one thing that is stopping me from buying this is not knowing if it can be controlled by sim hub. I know it has its own software and stuff, but if possible I would want everything controlled by one piece of software.
I just want a fan system that looks cool..like it belongs in a race car..that has multiple speeds and is controlled by a switch or dial I can mount to my chassis. I don’t want anymore software running. I’m already running 6-8 programs while I’m racing. I don’t really care about “wind simulation” I don’t understand why something like that doesn’t exist.
It does exist! This also does exactly that, if you watch this Fridays video at 7pm GMT I walk you through the software and show you exactly how to do this using either a button box to control the speed or keyboard shortcuts :) Yo do need to run the software though.
Karl Gosling I don’t want more software unfortunately. Like I said for sim racing I’m up to 8 pieces of software at one time sometimes. Steam The game Oculus NLR motion SimVibe CrewChife FanaLab Trading Paints Plus all the other stuff I have running.
Because they'd sent me an old pre production unit they had laying around but had neglected to tell me! Wasn't a fair representation of what a retail customer would receive.
@@KarlGosling ah ok silly them then sending a product for review that wasn't what we would be getting as consumers now. Like your reviews clear and in depth and easy to follow, keep up the good work
@@davidfishlock1968 I don't think they expected me to go into such detail, I'm a very small new channel so I can understand sending me old bits they had laying around rather than a new retail set they can sell. Thanks for your support! 😃
@@KarlGosling 😂😂it's the details that matter, I bet there faces dropped like a sack of spuds 😂. Good new video anyway, think I will steer away from the ducting and go with this sort if not to loud with headset on, got the index so speakers sit away from the ear. Will give it a test

Maximum respect for the CRT you have for the NES, retro done right :)
Would this be more "responsive" than feeding the air via tube? Seems like the latter solution would increase lag between the sim and the wind?
Marginally yes, but fans are not that responsive anyway, there's always a spool up delay.
Just purchased. Thanks for the promo code and the eBay link to the handle bar mounts👍
Excellent enjoy mate! :)
Great inför thanks.... is there a retailer in the UK for this sim gear ... I am seriously ready to push the button on a motion sim for flight sim
There isn't, you need to buy it from Sim Racing Studio in the US, there's a link in my descriptions and a discount code too.
Thank you
You're welcome

I'm on PC and the only time that happens is if I haven't loaded the Logitech G Hub first.
Cheers for the positive words! 🙂
On PS4 you can fix this by rebuilding the database from safe mode. ua-cam.com/video/3y28yLuQEaI/v-deo.html
Press the three buttons at the bottom while turning it on
can those fans work with Simtools games?

@@OhItsThat I'm exactly the same mate, the more toys we add the more software we have to run.
I bet you have to do another video to explain to nuggets that its not about real life ;)
Hmmm lol
Why did you delete the last one sim studio didn't like it that you found faults? Keep it real
