Barry’s commitment to providing his viewers with only the highest quality reviews knows no bounds. I mean, to grow your hair all the way down to your shoulders just so that you can demonstrate a product shows how much of a dedicated professional he truly is. I am in awe.
😂💯 Absolutely the best comment of the week !
The hair flowing from behind is simply hilarious.
As soon as I saw the thumbnail I imagined Barry's hair blowing in the wind...
It's even more beautiful than I anticipated
Hairodynamics at its finest 👌
This likely will replace Barry's hair dryer. Love your videos.
Another SRG video, another accessory to add to my list. Thanks for the video, Barry!
Does anyone else put Barry on before bed just to listen to that buttery smooth voice tell you about sim gear as you go to sleep? I certainly can’t be the only one.
You’re not the only one. Fell asleep to this video yesterday.
awesome review as always and that tip about speaker mounts saved me $45! I found speaker mount on amazon and they look like the same one that Barry had. VideoSecu Speaker Wall Ceiling Mount Bracket One Pair for Universal Satellite, fits Keyhole and Thread Hole with 1/4 20 Threads, 4mm and 5mm Black 1ST
Thanks !!
I have 4 of the older sim wind fans and they’re great and I really like them
However I can’t honestly say they’re even close to being reasonably priced
At the end of the day they’re just regular pc fans and a usb hub and I think they’re pricing them high knowing that sim racers are used to spending a lot of money on their setups and they know we will pay it
Just my opinion.
They weren't ready for this truth..
Absolute truth. $30 for two pieces of $0.50 plastic (optional mounting) plates. Kiss my ass. Getting tired of seeing the likes of these guys, Simcore, HRS, and more price gouging TF out of products.
@@jeffwills2869 yeah the sim space is insanely expensive
I brought a 3d printer and made my own for cheaper than their last model. And then I still had a 3d printer to make other sim racing items. I guess the price is so high because you pay for convenience.
@@phils_life I built my own as well now working on a button box and wheel .
Thank you very much for another great review Barry.
In these wind kit reviews, it would be very helpful if you could record a small clip of the noise produced by them, so we can get an idea of what to expect.
I built myself a wind system with some very expensive and supposedly silent Delta fans and the system is incredibly loud.
I just got SRS kit and man it is way too loud even at 25%. I wish they mentioned that in the reviews. It is literally like jet engine going on and off and trust me everyone will scream at you in your household to shut them off. Going to test a little more running them at 15% but at low 5-6 rpm they also make whining noise that you can hear through headphones.
Best hair in simracing, great review thank you
I'm here to see his hair fly.
Do you have a link to the speaker mount you use?
Awesome review!!! FYI you don't have to launch the game to feel/tune the wind. You just need to edit the tuning for it by clicking the magifying glass icon (running the game is not necessary anymore). :-)
He’s the best. Hands down, the best.
Gr8 review as usual thx. Only one thought, how do you not run "Motion Compensation" on your monster platform setup, I can't live without it now that I've added it via Sim Racing Studio SW profiles?
Have tried controlled fans, but With VR, I need constant fan cooling in summer so just use a cheap quiet pedestal fan, works perfectly for me.
249$ for two pc fans and some cables? Damn!
Yeah crazy. Sim3d have these now but its about £105, still expensive but for people like me that dont have the time to go DIY, its decent. Anything over £125 is just a robbery.
Great video from barry as always . would love to know the exact speaker brackets as i cannot find them on any uk sites .
Barry and his majestic hair!
that hair really shows well the airflow
I ordered and received the SRS "Hurricane" Power Wind Kit Package. I have been playing with it for about two weeks. Overall I like it. My only gripe is that I wish the fans would\could ramp up faster (maybe I will set a minimum power setting of 2% to give them a head start). When they do get up the speed, they are awesome. They also stop fast enough when I slow down, they just do not ramp up as fast as I would like. But again, overall, I like it.
I found that I do not have to run them at 100% either. 50%-60% is fine. 100% is too much and can actually make me cold while driving. I also aim the fans towards my shoulders. Pointing directly on me is too much and can actually also make me cold while driving.
I do not use car specific settings, that is too much to keep up with. I just set the overall Simulator top speed to 400kph, Wind Curving to level 8, out of 10, overall fan power to 50% and that is good enough for me.
The Wind Curving is awesome when in VR. IMHO, this Wind Sim rocks!
The problem is that you are not wearing a full racing suit, that is why you are getting cold. Racing helmet, gloves, full suit. Then you would be working up a proper sweat and THIS is what these fans are meant for LOL
Interesting to hear your thoughts about their Wind Curving as not being very noticeable in practice. Which makes sense because most corners are fairly quick and by the time the fans passively spin down, you're already out of the corner. This is the one "feature" that is unique to them and why they charge as much as they do. If this is the case then I will probably go the DIY route and use Simhub's (donate-as-you-wish) software and save myself a hundred bucks (or more).
Maybe I'm paranoid but I'm not crazy about how their housing needs to have threads cut by you using the 1/4-20 screw instead of a nut molded into the plastic. Seems like a recipe for over-torqued screws that chew up the plastic.
Hi Barry, thanks for your videos. I have always had a question for You, what do You think about Virtual Reality ? Why don 't You do VR lenses reviews?
God dammit, I lose money every video this man puts out.
Welcome to the world of sim racing lmao I might as well just burn my money for heat.
Yea dandwhen his hair flows... So does my money apparently.
Barry Hi. Where can I buy the fan mount you shared?
lmao why does Barry's hair look like Falcor's ears in the neverending story? great review per usual
How long is that steering wheel extension your running Barry? 🤔
Great review as usual however it would have been useful to mention what the speed differences where between these new ones and the original ones
ua-cam.com/video/xPmbslUHRRs/v-deo.html&ab_channel=SimRacingGarage @13:35 22mph. Dude that took me 20 seconds to fucking Google and post for you. Stop being so lazy :P
Could have chosen an open wheeler for full visual effect rather than in an enclosed cabin...lol 🤣😂
Anyone know how this compares to the Motion House MH-WindGenerator? The fan response speed on the MH seemed good, how does the Hurricane response and variability feel in comparison? I don't want an 'on/off' or lagging sensation (I don't think MH has wind curving I guess?) Thanks!
I ordered these immediately. Not because I get hot while racing. But because there is a slight chance my hair will blow in the wind like this.
Fabio mode
You know what they say when someone says they have a "big rig" right? 😆 Jk, great video breakdown as normal!
does it work with simhub or I need to use SRS software only? thx
The extra dampers have been added and no more rattling. Barry got first production unit. Adjustments were made to improve already.
Manufacturer s fault for sending that for review then. They deserve to be reviewed on the product they send out, not what they will send out
has anyone config the SRS hurranican power wind kit on simhub?
Barry I think your explanation of the Default Max Speed setting was not quite accurate. My understanding is that the software will assume that speed is the max speed of the car to map the actual airflow based on the car's speed until you've done some laps and the software can tune it to the car's max speed based on telemetry.
The srs software continously adjust max speed based on the game telemetry. No need to set manually
@@gmerariu mostly correct but not entirely. How does the software know to use say 50% airflow when you're coming out of pit lane for the first time? It doesn't have telemetry for max speed yet. That is when it uses your default value.
@@vincentsantucci2478 it learns after 1 lap and keep learning all the time
@@gmerariu I know that, it's what I've said all along. You do realise that there is no max speed set by telemetry until you actually do a full lap right? Until then, it takes your default value. This isn't rocket science dude, Jesus....
I came here to see Barry hair flow in the wind 🤣
It’s cool but I have too much software running as it is.
Do you prefer these ones over the motion house fan system?
It would be good to Barry’s thoughts. I have both and have been using motion house because the wind area has a larger wind zone which feels more realistic. The diameter of the SRS wind zone is smaller which makes the wind feel a little more like a fan blowing than wind. That said, I am going to try srs again.
@@netlawman2001 Do you still prefer the motion house? And do you think the motion house is quieter than the SRS if you set them to a similar wind speed?
@@MrOceanfrog I still use Motionhouse. No complaints. It is simply more powerful. I don’t understand why SRS limits themselves to computer fans.
@@netlawman2001 good to know, thanks!
@@netlawman2001 Is there a difference in how fast the fans ramp up and the change in airflow is felt compared to the car's speed? I've read 1 or 2 people say they felt a little lag with the SRS unit when the fans speed up according to the car speed. Is this true? If so, what about the Motion House?
Im shocked you didn't measure the noise level.
Link to get those speaker mounts please
i think these are the same one on Amazon - VideoSecu Speaker Wall Ceiling Mount Bracket One Pair for Universal Satellite, fits Keyhole and Thread Hole with 1/4 20 Threads, 4mm and 5mm Black 1ST
next job is.......booked in a haircut🤣
Barry or Hairy?
"Obviously" ... lmao
Well, I guess whatever blows your hair back eh
This fan thing seems like a total waste of money.
Wash and go racing kid, lol;
Whatever happened to this guy?
Waste of money to buy it at this price better to get a 3D printer.
