This time on Preacher Digger! “First Time Using the Equinox 800”. In this episode, I go try out my new Equinox 800 back at Relic Roundup where I have hunted that place countless times with my AT Max and CTX 3030, just to see if I could find anything. Man! As soon as God heals me so I can walk on unlevel ground without a walker and not fall over so I can get back out detecting I'm going to see about getting one of them there 800's. It's been 6.5 years since the motorcycle wreck that messed me all up... But I know God is faithful and in HIS time HE's going to heal me and remove all this nasty nerve pain I live with 24/7...
The doctors done told me that the more the nerves heal the more pain I'd be in, so they must really be healing. The pain put me in bed back in 2016... I know my healing miracle in on it way.... PLEASE PRAY!!!!

Nice finds! I bought the nox last Feb 14th 2018. Ive gone back over areas I've hunted with my Garrett 350 and have found lots of coins, relics and jewelry. Love this machine. Glad i chose to buy it over the max. Be safe out there and peace to all. Treasure is out there, we just have to find it.

Great video, I too have the Equinox 800 and really love it. I also have the 6” coil and it’s amazing how it will work in trashy areas.

Nice finds sir! I recently purchased the nox 600 to go along with my Simplex and absolutely have enjoyed it. I hunt a lot of farmland so I also bought the 15” coil to cover more ground and the 1st time out with the 15” coil, popped up a 1943 Walking Liberty half dollar. Like you stated, the simultaneous multi frequency is nice. Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing more of your hunts. God bless you brother.

Hello ! Im a new subscriber and live 25 miles north east of Houston....anyway, Im in the market for an upgrade in machines....I swing a Garrett Grand Master Hunter CX 3...it has done me well with rock solid quality. Its actually been years since I was actively hunting and now I'm getting back into it. I was leaning toward the Garrett AT Max, actually I was SURE I was going with AT Max until I compared the two at an area shop. The Equinox 800 seemed more sensitive when air testing at the detector shop.....however, I research everything I buy especially when performance in the field matters so much in this hobby. So that brought me here. I found your video while searching for those like yourself that have experience with a range of different machines. I have to tell you when I saw you pull that half dollar out with iron all around it...that impressed me big time !
I like Garrett machines and have the AT Max and AT Pro. While I have nothing negative to say about either machine, both are good ones to use, my preference, especially in heavy iron areas I the Equinox 800. The multiple frequencies truly do make a difference. The bottom line is find machine you can afford and learn that machine well. To be honest I've had great success with the AT Max, but I've gone back over many areas I hunted with it with my Equinox 800 and found even more...one being that half dollar in the video and those watch fobs. Those moments are few and far between but it was a site. I dug a key off to the right of that plug earlier.

Very cool spot! Nice easy swinging and digging. Gotta love those spots. I got my Nox 800 this past summer. And the more I use it the more I like it. At first I wasnt sure about it but its just learning the machine. Its great.
I'm loving mine more and more
Preacher Digger ...for some reason at first I didnt feel it had the depth. But I think it was just more the fact that I hadnt gone over many deeper good targets. My ground is pretty well mineralized also.

Just bought a Nox 800....Metal Detecting Stuff in The Woodlands, Texas set me up with a very nice package that is on their website....Their "no junk 2" package came with some very nice accessories at a price that beat all others I saw on the internet AND I supported a local small business.

Thank you. It seems everyone has a gimmick water bottle these days and it was my hope people watching would get a kick out of the holy water.
And I loved it. You need to get a "Holy Water" sticker for it. I got the opportunity for only a couple of hours one day to dig with Kurt Franz of the Hoover Boys, and just before I had to leave he gave me the 1893 IHP he had dug (he knew I hadn't dug an 1800's coin yet) and then he threw me a new bottle of Hoover Boys Foo Foo juice, which I now used in all my videos!!!

Hi Preacher, love the videos and the Lord! Wanting to get a detector myself but since I live near the beach, need one to handle land and water (salt/fresh). Do you have any experience with your arsenal around beach areas?
Either the Minelab CTC 3030 ($2500) or the Equinox 800 ($800). Both will handle salt water and run quietly with no chatter and dry sand too. Thanks for watching. Hh

What are you waiting for? It doesnt have a big learning curve like the CTX. I literally turned it on and starting finding stuff. Now I have learned three sets of VDI #.. Max, Nox, CTX
I have been using the ctx every since it came out. Hard to use anything else lol!

Was thinking about upgrading from the Ace 400 to a AT Max, but videos like these make me think it's time to upgrade to a big boy machine.
I hunt with many machines...the EQX 800, CTX 3030, & AT Max, but I like the 800 the best.

i have had my nox for about 2 years....just got the 6 inch coil for it....its a true coin sniper ...you will be digging coins out of plugs with nails in the same hole....i tell ya its worth getting that 6 inch coil!

If you still using the Nox. What mode do you usually work in, Park 1 or 2/ Farm 1 or 2 ? And why do you prefer that mode please.
I normally stay in Park 1 and if I find a faint signal I'll switch over to Gold 1 and I can pin point better. I find Park 1 does what I need over the other settings.
Park1 is a higher iron discriminator i believe. I had always been on farm 1 or 2. Cause i thought that was the best setting for homesteads and fields. Before my fall, i was working park1 and it eliminated much iron since i was in area of a exploded chuck wagon. The iron stove went everywhere in pieces. Im learning to, when finding a decent signal, i switch on the all metal to hear all iron in the spot. That most times lets me know if its a bad signal from earth elements instead of possible target. Sorry for writing a book lol. Thank you for your time Michael

seems the targets are only 2" deep when the nox is saying 8-10
have you noticed the depth estimate being on or off

That particular day I was using standard Park 1 and default on all other settings. I still use pretty much the same but switch to field 1 from time to time.
Which is the best Fisher F75 or Minelab Equinox 800??
I've never used the F75 so I wouldnt know. I love the 800

@@PreacherDigger That's exactly what Dalton and I are doing. I have a 1922 farm on 2 acres I started exactly a year ago, and 2 weeks ago with 3 Nox's on the property we pulled out 2 more silvers and some more Wheaties!!!

i have the 800. only minutes in it right now
I have the ctx 3030 and it is a higher machine but it is much heavier and slower. I got the nox 800 to have a lighter, faster return machine that us still multiple frequency. I use the AT Pro and Max as well.
I'm from Australia and not sure what you called that last coin, it sounded like 58? Anyway, does that say on the bottom of that coin "In Gold We Trust?" My eyesight is going, so sorry for bugging you lol.
That was a 1958 Ben Franklin Half-Dollar and all US coins and currency has the motto "In God We Trust"

What mode you using on the nox
My default is Park 1, but from time to time depending on what or where I'm detecting I'll change them around but Park 1 is my favorite. You can watch my newer videos and I usually will show at the beginning what my settings are.

I think equinox is great on silver but not so better of others on different targets
In my experience which are my last two videos and two upcoming videos it's been great for me on silver and relics. I had a killer relic hunt with it last week. Videos will be out starting next Friday. Keep swinging and Hh

Itn doesn't count as a NOX find unless you show the signal and dig. Wayyyy_ too many detectorists showing "plants" and claiming actual finds. PLEASE show your finds.
It still counts....lol. and I did show some but not all. I agree there are many who plant but I don't. When I don't show the live dig I make sure I put the number up so that others will know what it registers. I've had many compliments because I show the panel with number. Thanks for the input.

Absolutely not. Never have. I have two Garrett machines (AT Max, AT Pro) and two Minelab machines (CTX 3030, EQX 800), and if you watched all my videos you will see I use them all. I've just been using the EQUINOX 800 here lately because its new. thanks for watching. Hh.
