X-Men '97 showed Cyclops doing things I've always imagined him doing. Sliding around, performing comboos, and slowing his fall. I'm glad to finally see it done officially!

They ensured Cyclops and Storm got their moment while ensuring we got the Jean reveal. Good issue.
Storm was *always* a powerhouse since the start. They constantly hinted at this and sometimes showed it whenever she "lost control of herself". The reason she's more important now is because Charles has taken a backseat. He always coddled her and was afraid of letting her take charge even though he not only knew her potential but specifically made her his 2nd hand.
Now that Chuckie's "Bruce Banner-esque" emo issues aren't holding them back, Storm is finally doing what she was meant to do in the first place.
THIS!!! And from Chris Claremont’s own mouth (the man that created Ororo Munroe), her power always had the potential to be equal to that of The Phoenix! 🤯 I don’t think she’s there yet, but she’s getting close and with her new solo coming out promising to show her true goddess status…I think there’s still more to see and learn about The Goddess!!!

@@uniquebfly in the solicitations it's mentioned that Eternity had plans for Storm so who knows she might get a power boost . She was able to preserve Eternity's mind in her own mind in one of FF4's issues ,when she was married for T'Challa .
@@uniquebfly I don't mind her being equally capable to the Phoenix, but i don't want her to become another "all powerful" type unless similar to the Phoenix, Ororo is more like an avatar for "The Goddess". If Storm actually becomes something like that, it will cheapen her character.

Cyclops is more useless than Blackbolt. At least with Blackbolt, he can use his power to augment his strength, fly, increase durability the list is long and when used directly it's far more devastating than cyclops eye beam.

Ugh Cyclopes can crack his armor but some how Apocalypse cannot defeat Nimrod? I hate when comics does this BS. I loved DCEASED but when Mxy got infected by the virus yet some how Deathstroke was just fine? This always just p!sses me off when they throw BS into this. This is just another load shoved into this when is was not needed. Storm was enough you did not need Cyclopes able to crack a self healing power adapting power house of a machine like Nimrod. That's actually a very good point! But remember Apocalypse destroyed nimrod with a punch however Apocalypse was fighting more than one nimrod at the same time.

Theres a thor comic from this era that demonstrates in no uncertain terms the gap between thor and storm. he literally asks the lightning she strikes him with to stop hitting him, and it does. Nevermind that it had no effect on him at all

Didn’t really care for that either, honestly. Makes The One Above All a lot more boring in concept. How many pantheons have we seen, not just in Marvel, but in media in general at this point? Just feel like it’s more unique when it really IS The One Above All.

I'll miss you Synch 🥹 you were not only a standout character but probably one of the most fleshed out characters of this entire era. Dont know what the plan for him going forward is but not seeing him on any of the new rosters for From the Ashes hurt a little bit after the impact hes made
yeah, they need to make a new series where Synch travels back to the vault and explore the children of the vault and Darwin storyline..
I honestly just want Synch to grow some hair. It played in the 90’s but there’s no excuse anymore.

@@Peecamarke same.. I'm re-reading a good chunk of Dawn of X and basically, all of Hickman's X run.. it was probably the best Krakoan storyline.. also, the X Lives and Death series - I've come to really like & appreciate it more, very underrated imo..

It IS a pity it's all so rushed. But mostly, the payoffs feel right.
Storm is absolutely the queen right now and her totaling all the Nimrods is so satisfying.
The Dominion's nemesis being the Phoenix was hinted at by Hickman back when he first introduced the concept in Powers of X, so it feels long overdue. Since we first saw Jean in the White Hot Room, we've all known that she's being saved for Enigma, but it's been poorly paced.
Hopefully will read better when all collected.
But i've LOVED the Krakoan era as a whole, and your vids have deepened the enjoyment.

I feel like things have just been a bit too chaotic and all over the place.. the X-Men stuff right now is CRAZY, but it feels like too many main stories and small stories conflicting.

Nimrods power is plot armor. Hard to beat a character, whose powers change by the writers will. While you can compare powerful characters in marvel and DC. They all got weaknesses. Meanwhile Nimrods power just changes to make him seem powerful.

Interesting point about the original (time traveling) Nimrod. As it was around people longer, he changed and stopped being just a robot that attacked/killed mutants. He took a human persona (Nicholas Hunter) was worked a construction job. At this point he wasn't looking for a fight or even to cause trouble, he was trying to help people. Then he ran across a piece of the Master Mold and it took over his body and he did NOT like it at all and was actually cheering on the X-Men who were fighting it. Then we got the whole Siege Perilous thing that turned him into Bastion. I always had an idea that Bastion was only the Master Mold and that Nimrod got separated from it, but that never happened. 😥 sm
Apocalypse at least got through his armour and punched him through the head. Though I expected a MUCH more competitive fight between Nimrod and Apocalypse.
I think they have debuffed Apocalypse too much and overpowered the rest too much. Everyone's a god damned Omega level mutant now. I fckn hate Stom.
@IStevenSeagal Magneto's gotten a huge boost as well. I'd say he's been every bit as effective as Storm throughout the Krakoan era. And Cyclops was called the Omega Mutant, the last mutant standing. And I don't see Apocalypse as a white character. He's an ancient pre-arab Egyptian.

When Apocalypse took on a human form, he was dark skinned. And his past versions showed him as a dark gray color. His mother was a dark skinned woman and her tribe were all dark skinned indigenous Egyptians.
The five most powerful mutants in the world are all white men. Legion, Jaspers, Braddock, Mister M and Proteus. Before he was declassified as a mutant, Franklin Richard made it 6 for 6. (Phoenix isn't a mutant)
White male mutants have gotten significant boosts during these storylines. Xavier developed telekinesis and showed a huge feat of mind controlling virtually every mutant on Earth. Exodus was a bit of a laughingstock for over a decade until he was restored to his powerhouse status in the Krakoan era. Magneto was powered up after being resurrected and single-handedly powered a sentinelbuster armor that was used to destroy virtually every stark sentinel on earth, then killed a Nimrod body.
Who has been getting nerfed? It seems like they're all getting buffed.
@IStevenSeagal Apocalypse was born in Amentet, which is west of the Nile. His parents were Egyptian, because they were members of the Akkaba tribe, which was an Egyptian tribe. He was abandoned, but his tribe was skilled by the Sandstormers, who found him nearby (where he was born, but left in the sun to die), and they took him in. His family were not nomads, and there were certainly no white people in Egypt 5000 years ago.
In any case, Thor is now the allfather. He recently killed Galactus singlehandedly. The Hulk was so buffed that he's now tied to the opposite of God (The One Below All). And even with Storm's power-ups, when she went up against Thor, it was still clear that Thor was the superior thunder god.
And Colossus never beat Nimrod on his own. Colossus and Shadowcat together confused Nimrod because Shadowcat disrupted his circuits, which Colossus took advantage of to cause damage. But it was ultimately non-white-man Rogue with the combined absorbed power of Nightcrawler, herself and Colossus who did the job. Both iterations of Nimrod beat Juggernaut, who is consistently far superior to Colossus. Colossus on his own was never a threat to Nimrod. Sinister is a weird case, he's both less powerful, but also WAY MORE powerful since he's currently Enigma the Dominion. It seems as though the entirety of your issue centers solely around Storm getting powered up and winning fights you don't think she should. She's just one character.

Honestly, I much preferred the anti-hero era of Nimrod. I found that character far more interesting. The character design for Nimrod is perhaps one of my favorite of nearly any character in the marvel universe, even from the beginning.
All major electronics have lightning arrestors. Writing Nimrod's defeat this way is......disappointing.....

It's dumb, but it should be expected at this point in any superhero comic/anime were the protagonist(s) aren't known to kill.

How does Nimrod adapt to Forget Me Not
Whenever Marvel/DC amp a character up, they completly lose the ability to utilize them effectively ie Jean Grey, Superman, Thor w/Odin force, Franklin Richards etc. They shelve them or depower them. No talent writers.

Just look at where the mutant's powers come from to truly see their potential. Storm can control the earth's atmosphere, so if she'd go berserk she could end all life on earth. She literally has the power to control the air we breathe, how much water is available to drink, and can control the hottest form of heat on earth: lightening. She's almost like a living planet.

C'mon, Rob, this is basic, elementary stuff; as a self-professed comics guy, you should DEFINITELY know how to grammatically talk about comics, especially how to properly spell the titles, at the very least. It's: multiple X-Men; one X-Man - guess what: no matter the gender, it's X-Man.
