I found this PC at a garage sale for €20. It definitely needed a lot of work. it was, without a doubt, one of the dirtiest computers I've ever cleaned. I've also made some improvements in this video, so I hope you all enjoy!

What's wrong with it? It looks like one of mine. Having 3 dogs and 5 cats causes a lot of dust and hair that gets sucked into the computer. Cleaning is a normal thing when you have pets.

@@french.satisfactory I covered all openings with silk screening fabric and installed my new 850 W power supply and it's working like a charm, no overheating no excessive fan speeds. Silk screening fabric will be my #1 modification with every new computer I build.

I think I might take those components outside to clean. EONS AGO I had a BUNKER RAMO BCS 90 that the customer had on the floor under a folding table. It was bad but not quite as rough as what you showed. Had to nail it out on two wheel cart to the parking lot . Disassembled it as much as I could took a commercial vacuum/blower to it and went to work. When it was all back together and reinstalled it actually came up and ran.
hehehe, well, just imagine how I have to clean my office after a shooting like this 😷

with the specs shown in description, I am surprised that you left out the graphics card. Running a serial number check on the sticker came up with the hd 4350

Great cleanup. Computer looks brand new. If I would have to say anything negative, it would be that there was perhaps a little bit too much thermal paste on the chips.

CPU fan was installed backwards in the reassembly. The exhaust fan possibly as well.
You are right, it is probably the worst mistake on this channel 😅

great video, but 1 mistake i saw, was the fan for the cpu was fitted wrong way round. at start of video u see the Cooler Master sticker, but in re-fit clip its showing the back sticker

Et bien, cela dépend. Quand je récupère des PC de personnes qui les utilisent, je les rend simplement aux personnes qui me les ont confié. Dans le cas où je trouve les PC dans un vide grenier, et bien je les stock effectivement. Mais je vais voir si je peux les donner en giveaway.

pour les pc que tu ne garde pas, tu peux les proposé a des association proche de chez toi, ça peux leur être bien utile.
Moi par exemple, je connais un informaticien qui ma déjà donné 4 Pc, c'est Super sympa de ça part, et c'est Génial pour l'asso don je fait partie.
Ah oui c'est vrai, on en avait déjà discuté! J'espère que tout se passe bien avec ton asso. Je vais y penser à ça aussi. C'est juste que j'ai l'impression que ces PCs ne sont pas suffisamment bien pour des asso qui n'ont pas à accepter tout et n'importe quoi.
Well on the HP PC i noticed that it has a bay for a "HP Pocket Media Drive" which is a "proprietary" USB Drive that HP made for some of their PC's, anyway nice video i liked it, and the final result was fantastic !

Hi, I have never had to clean THAT much of nastyness from a PC 😮. I am curious isn't it a bit dangerous to spray air directly at the CPU pins as they seem quite fragile?

I don't think spray air directly at the CPU pins is particularly dangerous. I never had any issues with this and never had any comment regarding this.
It is for me something important as some dust could go there during the cleaning session, or even before I get the PC.

that cooler master 80mm fan is awesome its got lots of power iv had it up to 4300 rpm the pentium d one of the coolest windows xp CPUs its just two pentium dies that connect over the Northbridge it won't game well but it is unironically good at editing due to the long pipeline

This is not a Pentium D, but a Pentium Dual-Core. The difference is that the PD is indeed made of two Pentium 4 cores (Intel's first dual core offering, and not a good one at that) while the PDC is a cut-back Core 2 Duo (So much more efficient and modern than the PD, but very much a budget CPU).

Incredible outcome :) Though, I would replace that HDD, it's notorious to fail :/
Didn't know about this HDD issues. Interesting. In fact act, I would even change it to an SSD one to improve the perfs. But yeah, the main goal here was to make the deep cleaning, not an upgrade.

Most dirty PC I came across fixing for a friend was like "city" under sand. On motherboard, gpu, etc. was so much dust, you could not see board components at all 🤔.

I just remembered that PC was working barely but still iz was and after cleanup... nothing. It turned on without bios beep and black screen. Did replace GPU and ram... nothing. Reseatec CPU and no change. It probably seems that the dust somewhere was giving just enough contact to let motherboard work even if it is not great. is that time again... I guess I was late to the party. Man you could start a farm on that much dirt... that poor pc. It's too bad the stickers had to go, not the prettiest sight but by this point they are part of the machine. Must be hard work to edit to this quality and keeping a steady upload schedule for these videos... keep up the good work, we love your content

Oh it is possible. I did a similar clean that even after a full clean you could still smell the smoke.
You got it! 200% sure it is somer's dust. But honestly, I was surprised when I opened it because it didn't smell 🤔 I guess this computer stayed long in a basement or something.

Great cleanup! I love watching a PC get the cleaning and love it needs! I might have to start making some of these videos, i love to clean PC's.
A few things from one PC Enthusiast to another, to much TIM on those chips, will it hurt anything? No. I just hate to waste TIM since it's not cheap. Also you put the CPU fan on backwards, it's supposed to suck in cool air from outside the case thanks to that duct attached to the fan. Will it be fine and work? Yes. Did my OCD freak out? Yes. Will i be fine? Maybe. lol

About the CPU fan... OMG I know... In fact, I didn't realise it before uploading this video. But as you can imagine plenty people told me that in the comments also. Be sure about that I will be very careful on the next video! Not so satisfying to watch 🤪 I did put it back in the right direction after the upload, but yeah... impossible to update that video.

There is many debates about this in the comment section. I agree about that it is far from perfect like that... In fact, I was so focused on the video making things, I just did put it back in the way it was before I took this PC appart. 😅

Yeah I agree with both.
We can use plenty of oil type to lubricate the fans, and I in fact used a bit of WD40 here and there for the cleaning process. I just didn't catch it on video because I forgot and didn't have time to put back my shooting setup 😅

Somente uma observação, você colocou o fan do cpu na posição errada. Colocou na posição de exaustão sugando o ar ao invés de ventilação empurrando o ar.
O logo da Cooler Master deve ficar voltada para fora, assim a fan sopra o ar no dissipador.

I saw some comments about the thermal paste ammount.
It's NEVER too much, only too little will hurt the performance. What you did, was perfect.
When you apply too much, the only downside is that it's messier to clean up, as the excess will pour out of the borders of wherever you applied it. So, don't get discouraged or start using too little for the sake of missinformed people.
Great clean up, it's so satisfying.
I'd wish I had the time for when I do cleanups for clients computers to be this thorough. I do clean them up real good, but, can't be this perfectionist.

well your syringe is missing nozzle. that why you got way too much paste on. find the missing nozzle, ya control reasonable quantity of paste application.
I thought this also, but was is no syringe on the pack I bought at all 🤔 (Artic MX-4)
