The staff at Speed Pro are awesome. You get the best service (unlike another interstate retailer who's staff are arrogant as hell and their prices are too high), wide range of parts (unlike someone else in the industry that's taken most of the well known brands off their shelves and replaced them with their own brands made in China with poor workmanship). Never had any issues with these guys! They price things reasonably, good delivery service and staff that are genuine good dudes. Good work Speed Pro. Keep it up

From someone who started drag racing in the 1980s to see a car that is reasonably described as a street car run off a 7 second pass .. I just would never have believed it. And a 1.2 short time .. fuck me, it's a new world every 5 years with technology.

Damn that thing is planted. Always wanted to build an XD like this either big single LSX next or a barra, my late grandfather had one when I was a very young kid, (well, close enough - a fairlane in dark blue) and it always stuck in my head as such an iconic shape and a solid, utilitarian car design. The rear lights are so wide on them and the body is the default 80s 'car' shape. To make it run 7s is just glorious.

mech anic so I should just go with the better more powerful stock bottom end Ls 4.8, 5.3 or 6.0 all capable of 1400- 1500+ horsepower
Used to have an XD S pack 4speed alloy head 4.1.
I would imagine a BARRA turbo would give it a bit more kick.

If I know what you're talking about, the backward facing bonnet is because if you go too fast the bonnet will fly up if its foward.
Its to make it legal for road use and not get harrased by cops for having a carb or injector hat etc hanging out the bonnet

I love the Barra swap but it would of been sweet to see a twin turbo v8 setup in this XD
why the car is running a barra doing 7 sec 1/4s. Most barras can push 1000kws these days, 1400hp streetable with a full exhaust, no nitrous and able to actually be driven and registered.
Tired of pretending V8's are magically better, or even better sounding, when they aren't.
These motors are crazy how much power they can push out without blowing up after a couple runs

WOw fantastic, but its the cost everyone would like to know, i would guesstimate around 80K easy and that's just the running gear, let lone wheels computer tune and then the labour to put everything together based on your car any car and if a holden chan even more? A Basic Bullet proof barra running gear would set you back at least 30K and that's using your engine Auto strengthened and diff done for a street car maybe doing 10's ?
7071t6 80k!? 15k on engine, 5k ecu and tune, 10k for box. A lot of money yes but no where near what you guess
