Just advise there is no difference to looking up and down at your phone to constantly looking back at the camera, i have seen many people talk and keep there eyes on the road and for that they get big respect, its good hearing you speak on what your thinking , but i would say safety first and keep your eyes forward while moving :)
really looking forward to the engineers episodes. it's very hard to find clear answers on common conversions , and how different the various states allow even though it's supposedly a national code ?

Good job lads I remember those handbrakes half the time when you pull them on the cable snapped..... Another suggestion for bedding in brakes download a free app to your mobile phone which is just a simple G meter to record G Force and doesn’t matter what speed you’re doing Just Brake hard enough to pull two or three Gs each time and that way you keep it consistent and I find it works really well specially with Bendix pads..... Some brake pad manufacturers will actually provide that instruction on the leaflet that comes with the pads.....!!! I find it to be a lot more scientific because you’re now pulling the same Gs and never ever had a drama with squealing after that
Typical XF my Fairmont has exact broken mount points on the dash. Defo dodge earth connection in there somewhere as well. Great build and look forward to the engineers report. Would of come up to view this car but can't travel more than 5kays 😞
It isn't a dodgy earth, it is how the camera sees the pulses of the digital cluster. To the human eye the cluster isn't flickering. Remember when you used to see old CRT computer monitors on TV? They'd be flickering.
Reminds me of an XF I saw down in Warnambool years ago. It had a 351 clevo, toploader and 9" diff combo and was in Streetmachine or Performance Streetcar magazine in 1988-ish ! Same color etc. Sounded amazing. Good work guys - maybe pull the Barra down the track an throw in a EFI clevo ?! 💪👍
Hey Rod shop love the XF. Great to see you have the ghia cluster working with the barra, do you do conversion kits to get the ghia cluster to talk to an au v8 that is in my xf?
Regarding the GoPro - don't get caught by VicRoads - they banned the use of Suction Mounts on the outsides of cars a few years back, after a couple that weren't put on right had unplanned meetings with pedestrians. If you come across a copper with an ego, the fine will cost more then a new GoPro!
I love the australian bush/forest on a rainy day. Even if we turn into an authoritarian hellhole, i'd rather die fighting here than live anywhere else.

With this Corona shit you guys are obviously stuck here and the cars are at Willwood factory in the States. What are the plans? Bring them home? Leave them there for now? from the states its only been recently ive heard about the barra and now another youtuber has built a pretty impressive one in his mustang. you guys should build a drift car and go play with Luke Fink.. any chance you all arent to far from each other?
I doubt they’ve had time for a wheel alignment mate haha. They’ve only just finished this build. It’s all a matter of dialling everything in now piece by piece
Hi Peter, Yes we are busy mate, But that's no excuse! Sorry you didn't get a reply.. We don't work on customer cars at this point in time, we are trying to keep up with demand with customer orders and trying to release new products.
Couldn't agree more! We have done nothing to change the performance of the engine from stock. We got it in and going so we can do the testing on the rear end but as you can tell the performance of the engine isn't great.. Hopefully we can get the xf going a lot better than it did here soon, the car has sat in the corner for some time as it not the greatest thing to drive in it's current state.
Here in Victoria it's the Law, If he was filming this all alone with no one else around then it would be fine. Not only do we want to keep our staff save we also want to keep our community save as well.

@@nordic5490 Barra 182 in stock form is a rough old boat anchor, the 190 is much improved and alright. 2000hp would tear an XF apart. Sometimes less is more in the right application.
We still have it but at this point in time it is sitting in the showroom Blown up.... Unfortunately we fed the Barra with to much boost and it blew a hole in the block. We have plans for it but just no time at the moment. But it will be back soon.

I had a XF fairmont 86 model with the 4.1 EFI 6 great car and i swapped out the dash to the digital one.

i had a white xf 1986 fairmont, midified thumpy 351 Cleveland in it on tridents lowered , 7000 rpm kills both rear tyres and c4 in under minute

Yup, it only looks like that on camera. When your in the car the display will be solid and wont be flashing at all.

The Barra is a horrible rough engine.
Intech would have been better.
XF bodies are weak and very rust prone..
Nope. The barra can make 2200hp at the wheels on the factory block and head.
