when I was a kid, my father had a brand-new red BF F6, injectors/tune only. I'll never forget that first turbo experience, great memories!

I remember as a twenty something year old, the advertising exec for a timber yard I was working at, drove in with a new 2006 F6 Typhoon. I asked him if he could take me for a spin in it, he chucked me the keys and said "go for it!" Did not need to be told twice!
Even "stock" this thing blew my mind. Swapped it to sportshift, it hit the limiter before I could click gears!
Mad cars, this must be a space x rocket!

Was very pleased to see he put an XR rear bar on it for towing too, wouldn't be nice to chop up the F6 one ;)
Agreed. Ditching the 6 speed for half as many gears or less always sounded insane to me. Yeah it cost more, so what? Cams is either or IMHO. Stock cams work well in factory turbo cars. Going more aggressive impacts idle quality.
Either way K.I.S.S always works.
Big fan of this platform. I daily the ute with a tradies tray on the back. Best sleeper ever.

God dam, why didn't Ford bring those things to the US. We were severely ripped off. Bring here to do drag challenge and show them LS boys a thing or three.
Ford USA screwed over ford Australia time and time again. Ford aust asked for a six speed and got nothing from the us. We went our way. Go Aussie go.
We were building better cars and the USA said hang on, no we're #1. GM did the same shit to Holden. They brought over the "SS" but didn't market it. Now it has a proper fan base but it's sadly long gone

I have a love hate relationship with my fg lol
Just got it back on the road with a fresh engine after it blew up 8 weeks ago only 2 weeks into ownership 😔
Now has 30 over pistons (destroyed the ringlands on the factory pistons)
Billet oil pump gears, arp head studs, valve springs ,rebuilt and hi flowed 3576, 4" exhaust, 1150cc injectors, 460lph pump, atomic timing chain kit, pw stage 1 intercooler.
Currently has hp tuners and nguage 3 tune setup, 250,350 n 420kw tunes.
Be changing to pcmtec soon and a single 350kw tune so it's nice n safe.
Suspect the current tunes are garbage, we suspect it contributed to the engine failure.
It's been 11.94 on the 250kw tune, hoping for low 11s on the 350kw tune, stick shift too 👌

Yeah it was a no brainer. My SPRINT T was 56 plus onroads. All the development from the previous FPvs went into it. Still love it!!!

I have a silver BF F6 Typhoon. I upgraded the brakes to 6 and 4 pot Brembo factory brakes, flitted factory dark argent wheels and installed an APS turbo upgrade kit. Lovely car. Now may need to sell if anyone is interested.
I thought the brembo's wer factory on the fpv f6?

They are but 4 piston front and APR rears 6 piston fronts were optional 7k option at that

A shit ton is quite an overstatement. Have the right size exhaust and the gate plumbed properly and you're not really losing that much power.

We've seen plenty of back to back testing, unless you're turbine housing/exhaust is extremely restrictive you're wasting you're time with one on a road car.

What does a zf need to live?
A rebuild after every couple of runs. 4L80e all the way!!!!
Don't kickdown the auto unless you get the input shafts upgraded. Otherwise manually shift if stomping it. Only have serviced it once so far with genuine zf fluid. No issues with mine after 10+yrs tuned. Upgraded to billet heat exchanger also.
You buy a built ZF !!
Standard ones are weak I blew mine at 366rwkw

@@sircefiro mine was $8.5k from monster torque, was a few years back now I believe they are even more expensive now, I don’t even like it I should have gone TH400 but at the time that was around 12.5k

3:36 reason why I dont want a barra, too much fuel for 200kw, but in Australia a k24 rwd conversion is quite expensive to do even yourself

"Why is E85 so expensive? At 8:49, you see the price of all the different fuels. So E10 is cheaper than normal unleaded because it has 10% ethanol in it (ethanol is meant to be cheaper to make, and that is why it is cheaper). So, for all the mathematicians out there, the more ethanol should mean that it should be cheaper. But if you want to buy E85, it's more expensive than E10 and normal unleaded. And before anyone says it... "Well, the service stations have to spend more to put in extra tanks for the E85." Well, that is actually bullshit because E85 used to be cheaper before, and now it is more expensive now that more people are using it! So they are making more back now that it is more widely used. And it is not cheaper at the service stations that already had the tanks for it. While they are trying to do an investigation into supermarkets' price gouging, they need to look into this. Ethanol is meant to be better for the planet, so why inflate the price? If the government really cared about emissions, they would subsidize ethanol, not let the fuel cartel sell it as a premium-priced product."
They sell very little E85, if it was more widly used, would it be cheaper? The demand is low. Also, when comparing the E85 price, multiple it by another 30% as you burn it a lot faster.
The problem with barras is if have more then about 450hp then you have major traction issues. This is very dangerous. These cars were not designed for big power. Its scarey and not fun. Specially if you are driving your family.

Come on man thay handle really well for a big car and they slide very well and they have Good brakes/ Really good traction control System And a very high ANCAP/CRASH safety rating. I myself daily my F6 on 1 tune and thats 700rwhp and its great and very streetable with a built ZF transmission
