    I'm so happy I found this video, after cleaning carpets the wrong way for 20 plus years I followed step by step and it worked like magic and I won't be dreading cleaning my carpets anymore....it was great to have spent 30 mins from start to finish on a carpet rather than hours...Thank you!!

    I just saw your video, nine months later, and I was glad I clicked on it. I always vacuum the carpet first and just like many others, I add the soap mixture to the tank, well after seeing your video, I put the cleaner in a sprayer and followed your directions. This not only worked, it cut my cleaning time down and my carpet looks great. Thank you for the tips.

    I use a separate sprayer too but I use water and a little Clorox Laundry Sanitizer in the machine. The Clorox product is meant for the rinse cycle of a washing machine so it doesn't need rinsing. It kills bacteria and makes the carpet smell great!

    • @adriancp9957
      @adriancp9957 Рік тому +11

      @@giselsilvabecause the sprayer in the vacuum puts down way too much shampoo. It's like dumping a whole bottle of laundry detergent into the washer when you only need a full ounces. Also, using separate sprayer gives the shampoo time to penetrate the carpet before being vacuumed up.

      If you're dealing w/ pet issues, like vomit, urine or pooping, the Vacuum Wars guy consulted w/ a professional cleaner as well. Hydrogen Peroxide, the strong solution as a pre spray apparently works way better than any of the stain or odour removers he tried. He was testing w/ coyote urine and it got it all out, sometimes w/ some redo for stubborn spots.

    First things first, let's get all your furniture relocated to a different spot in the house. Next, go ahead and open up those windows to let some fresh air in. After that, grab your vacuum and give your carpet a thorough cleaning on the highest setting. Then, spray on some pre-treat to help loosen up the dirt and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Once that's done, it's time to start cleaning your carpet. Finally, use a fan to help dry out your carpet. Happy cleaning!

    I love Brandon's vids and followed the directions to a T. Brandon, do you add water into the solution tank, leave it empty, or something else?
    For anyone who buys the Hoover Smartwash: know that it can be incredibly finicky with it's in 'dry mode' setting, whether it's 'dry only' or the normal dry mode. As in, it will say it's in dry mode, but the device won't suck anything up. I've had to turn it off and on many times to get it to do what it says it's doing. Be careful!

    I have a Hoover SmartWash as well. I noticed in your video that you did not put any of the carpet cleaner (shampoo) in the solution reservoir at the back of the machine. Is this correct?

      Correct! I like to keep just water in my machine. This helps to completely remove all cleaner from the carpet much easier.

    I use the pet purple ball dyson vacuum… I will vacuum twice going each direction and I still get TONS of animal hair up if I use an uproot clean rake. Should I use that rake on my carpets too prior to deep cleaning them?
    I thought I was getting a good pet vacuum, but I guess not 😢

    Can I use these tips to clean a carpet that has some pet odor issues? In particular, urine? I was told that I shouldn’t steam clean areas that had residual pet urine in them. Something about the steam acting as a setting agent for the urine. I have spot cleaned the areas with a spray carpet cleaner and sponge, but I have a dog with incontinence issues and I would like to give the carpet a through cleaning to get any spots I have missed or that have build-up.
    If I can’t clean my carpets with soap and steam, do you have any tips for how to clean a carpet with odor issues? Thanks! Love your videos!

      There are enzyme sprays made specifically for pet pee that neutralize urine. They claim to be safe and nontoxic. Worth a look. Maybe look at farm stores, as they use enzyme sprays in chicken coops to neutralize stink, as well as kill mites (mites are also in our homes...) I'm looking into this myself; I have an asthmatic cat and I need to find a way to keep dust mites seriously in check. I'm thinking to use enzyme spray in the pump sprayer at least weekly in the house. Good luck!

    Can you use the carpet groomer to make patterns in the carpet? I think I'd be hilarious to make a Zen garden with carpet

    Great video, thank you. I just loaded up on all the products mentioned (hope they are paying you a commission!). Do you have any specific vacuums you recommend to pair with the washer for a small 1000 square ft two person office, no pets. Do you recommend any of the newer cordless vacuums?
