It's amazing how good Shark products are. They really revolutionized the vacuum world when they made affordable vacuums that could outperform Dyson. I will never buy Dyson products cause they are way overpriced.
I really do appreciate the heights this man goes to in order to provide the best review for these vacuums. I love doing this deep of an analysis and researching when I purchase a lot of things, so it saves so much time to have a professional do this. Thank you so much Vacuum Wars, you are a necessity for me lol.
Didn’t think I needed one. Grabbed up the bissell hydro steam anyways …. I’m obsessed with cleaning things with it now. Example : cleaning carpets until it ran clean. The dirty water bucket did indeed assure me that I was WRONG. I needed it.
@@vannarooski8730 i ended up hiring a Bissel big green machine, much better than a rug doctor, it drys the carpet much better. I used one with a clear waste water tank, which was good to see what colour thw water was coming up. I did a 3x3 metre carpet for 6 hours and the water never ran clear though, it did get to light brown
I have the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam and I’ve been very happy with it. It’s been able to remove stains my old one could never. But it will absolutely chug through its water supply very quickly. But I suppose that’s what you sacrifice for the steam function. Definitely my favorite cleaning tool I use. I even purchased the Bissell Little Green HydroSteam to go along with it. They are an unmatched cleaning duo.
I had my Big Green for over a decade before I decided to upgrade to the newer black model (the Big Green Pet Pro) with the more ergonomically friendly unified handle. Unlike most of these flimsy, consumer-grade machines, the Big Green is a commercial grade machine that you can repair whenever necessary. I will always own a Big Green for as long Bissell continues to manufacture it. And given their increasing market share in the rental market, it will probably be available for the foreseeable future.
I’ve been watching you for 5 years like to say thank you! For the information based of vacuums and carpet cleaner and robot vacuums man! Keep up the good work 👍✌🏻
It would be really helpful if all the test data can be shown somewhere, instead of only the top fews for each metrics. I guess people sometimes would like to checkout all the data for a specfic model. Thanks.
Just wanted to say I really needed to buy one as I was sick of running to Lowe’s and grabbing the big green and paying 35 bucks a rental so I thought might as well buy something that gets good reviews here that’ll cost the same as a few rentals at Lowe’s. I did end up getting the shark carpet expert ex120 which I don’t think is much different than the ex121 and I didn’t need a hose because I already have a spot cleaner. I am very happy with the results. My water was nice and brown (ew), even after running through a second time with just water. It’s actually pretty easy to use although I did use his idea and mix up a bunch of solution so I don’t have to keep measuring and adding detergent each fill. I’m usually used to being able to control the spray instead of it automatically spring when you go forward, but it does have a switch to choose to just suction.
I watched this video while standing in the store today. LOL Wound up getting the Shark EX200 for $220. Only did one hallway but worked better than I was hoping for. Thanks for the review!
A fine video and a great discussion. Nice comparisons! My favorite comment on here: "Do I need a carpet cleaner? No, but am I going to watch this video? Absolutely" Nicely done ethanol1586!
Excellent video. I was looking hard at the Bissell Hydro steam. I decided to research one more time and ran into this video. Now I'm debating on getting your overall pick the Shark CarpetXpert. It looks like it might be the winner. It will definitely save me money.
One thing I noticed out of all the shampooers you have there. I use the Bisel big green BG 10 two motors. I think that makes a difference if you use that particular one it will grab all the stains. I’ve been using the big green for three years in my place where I live. It’s so good this machine it will fade the carpet if you’re not careful is that good so I think Bissell BG 10 is the way to go because of the dual motors in great suction that thing will get the stains up if you go over the area where the stain is and squeeze the trigger for the solution to go down in the carpet and then you got something. I guarantee it because I’ve been using it for over three years without a glitch. Love you work good work keep doing what you’re doing. You still get three thumbs up.👍👍👍
Another great video! I just had a small request. In your future vacuum reviews, can you mention or at least take into account vacuum head width in your rankings? What I've found with several cordless vacuums is that the cheaper vacuums tend to have smaller widths and that leads to a lot more back and forth motion when actually using the vacuum.
Glad to see the shark tested with the same solution as everything else. Still so wary after buying a Shark vacuum though; performance is adequate, but parts support is abysmal. Purchased it 2 years ago and the battery has been out of stock the entire time. Mine didn't go bad, but when doing a deep clean I can't finish the whole house on a single charge. Been considering getting a Dyson because they are least have the batteries for it in stock.
If their cleaners are anything like their coffee makers, they are over-engeneered POS's. They don't make them with the ability to fix them. Have to buy a new one everytime something gives out. Terrible for the environment/landfills, and your wallet. =(
Great video as usual! The only thing I miss (I think? I be might thinking about a different past video perhaps for regular vacuums) is the detailed showing of the actual passes over the carpets for each vacuum. So satisfying! ;)
@@SS4xShinobi im testing carpet cleaners (not on this channel) and i found that bcuz they built the motor exhast pointing at the floor, some models have heated air to make it so its like a hair dryer for your carpet, making it dry faster. So its not all about suction.
First of all this is an amazing video! The detail and time you put in to compare is fantastic. I wanted to share my experience though with your front runner, the Shark EX201. I was originally going to buy the Prohead 2x Rev Pet Pro Plus based on prior year videos but given the results here I went with the Shark. Got it yesterday and used it on one bedroom about 170sqft, and my results were not good IMO. Had to fill the tank up 3 times for one cleaning and that was with one pass fwd and back for every part of the room. I did the dry vac setting over the carpet and that made it more dry but overall I had to empty the tank more than 3 times for the room. For a single room that was a lot of tank switching. What bugged me most though is that I pre vacuumed the room with my Shark vac which pulled up a lot of dirt and hair. Yet while cleaning with the EX201 it would leave big wads of hair and fibers every other pass or so that I had to then pickup by hand. Ended up manually picking up about 2 big man handfuls of gunk that the machine did not pickup. The machine picked up some too but left so much on the ground that I would not say it was cleaned. I ended up doing a 2nd cleaning on the room today and had the same results, with more hair wads everywhere. I was overall very disappointed. I think the thing your test is missing, as if you need more work for your next video, is a ground in dirt / hair pickup test, as some of that is going to get ground in so deep that a vacuum wont get it all and the carpet cleaning is left to deal with it. This test mostly is focused on the stain cleaning test. Maybe I missed some details somewhere but wanted to share my experience.
My Bissell Pet ProHeat x2 started creating electrical sparks today! Bummed that I can not shampoo vac my carpets 😢, so I am here (last time, I watched an older vid of yours lol), trying to figure out which one to buy next lol.

How do you propose to do that, exactly? Break every single one of them in the same way? I'd say warranty and spare parts access would be a better way to measure that.
Because none of them are really repair friendly. They are basically throw away machines, just like the vacuums these brands make. The Rug Doctor and the Bissell Big Green might be the only ones that are repair friendly
@@DJR5280 I had my Big Green for over a decade until I decided to upgrade to the latest version. It’s 100% reparable (as most commercial grade rental machines are).

I have had Bissell in the past and had good luck. The Shark EX201 looked great but since being their first carpet cleaner I wasn’t sure about longevity. What would you do in this situation? I wish you could rate them for durability and longevity as well. I had a Dyson vacuum that was perfect for 7 years- then a Bissell carpet cleaner and a Shark vacuum both standouts in previous videos and neither of them have lasted 2 years. On top of that Shark is notoriously difficult to fix.
Wouldn't it make sense to do a stain removal test with control detergent and one included with each machine as that would better judge how well the overall system is designed and how people would be using it in their home?
Please include ratings for the cleaning the machine after use. Typically, I must spend more time cleaning the machine than I did cleaning the carpet. My Hoover is difficult to clean, because you have to take much of the machine apart to get to the beater bar. In the owner's manual, removing and reinstalling the beater bar is an 11-step process.
Love the video... but I am trying to decide between 2 carpet cleaners that are both on sale today. The Hoover power scrub deluxe pet, or the Hoover expert series smart wash pet. Which would pick? You don't really mention the Smart wash series. Are they any good. Thanks
WOW!!!! YOU REALLY DID ALOT OF FIGURING AND HARD WORK TO COME UP WITH THESE GREAT CARPET CLEANERS!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! I APPRECIATE ALL THE WAYS YOU FIGURE OUT THE BEST SHAMPOOER!!!!!!!😊😊😊
Thank you for doing this work! You can't trust the marketing material for products like these. You can only trust empirical evidence from independent sources. I was torn between the Tineco icarpet and the bissell steam revolution. But I am pleased to see a product better than both of those that cover my main concerns. Suction and effectiveness. The shark looks to satisfy both of my pain points. I had a Revolution 2x in the past but the quality of the suction attachment and suction head suffered over time. Again thank you for doing this work for the internet to see
I have the hydro steam works well anyway your best pre-treatment doesn't take me to a specific product can you fix the link or tell me what specifically is the best pretreatment?
@@VacuumWars thanks for your reply I love your videos man honestly I got the hydro steam last year after watching your video on it keep up the good work :)

Any idea what the difference is between BJ’s sold Shark CarpetXpert model ex204 vs the ex201 in this video? They look identical and right now it’s for sale at $200.
I’m curious what your opinion is on brush rotation strength? I need the most powerful brush. I have the BISSELL turboclean and the brush won’t spin on my Frieze style carpet. It’s absolutely useless to me 😭.
I wonder how much better these are than portable or spot cleaners made by the same companies? Is the Shark CarpetXpert much better than the best portable unit?
Our last Spot Cleaner competition video showed a spot cleaner can do a good job - you just have to do it by hand: ua-cam.com/video/oSEKelDIqSU/v-deo.html
I've got a genuine question and was wondering if someone could help me answer it. I understand the video is showing carpet cleaners for domestic use, but they also add the RugDoctor and the BigGreen machines. I was checking out some machines and the KARCHER Puzzi 10/1 and the Big Green are currently the same price. In terms of actual cleaning performance which one is better (or you think its better)? also why wasn't the KARCHER Puzzi 10/1 added to the video if its within the same price range despite not being for domestic use? If someone could help me answer which one is better I would really appreciate it, thanks in advance!! :D

You’re such a nerd! Love it lol.
(Yes, that definitely was a compliment)
We'll take it! Thank you!
What a great day to post this video 😁😁
Is the costco shark the same thing in a different color for 199?
Unfortunately Kenmore brand are not sold in my country.
This is soo AMAZING! OMG, you are a genius. Informative test video again!
Wow, thanks!
Its prine day and i need that shark one for my carpet. Can it clean a whole apartment or does that need a rug doctor?
Love the video... but I am trying to decide between 2 carpet cleaners that are both on sale today. The Hoover power scrub deluxe pet, or the Hoover expert series smart wash pet. Which would pick? You don't really mention the Smart wash series. Are they any good.
Thanks
You got any advice for couch and computer chair cleaning? Some vacuum with motorized brush or something ?
WOW!!!! YOU REALLY DID ALOT OF FIGURING AND HARD WORK TO COME UP WITH THESE GREAT CARPET CLEANERS!!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!
I APPRECIATE ALL THE WAYS YOU FIGURE OUT THE BEST SHAMPOOER!!!!!!!😊😊😊
Why thank you very much!
@@VacuumWarsJust Bought The Shark Shampoo Machine!!!!!! Will get it next week..... THANK YOU..❤❤
Thank you for doing this work!
It was "Unchained Urine Stain and Odor Remover for Pet Owners" but its unavailable now, our very close second is the Resolve Professional spray.
@@VacuumWars thanks for your reply I love your videos man honestly I got the hydro steam last year after watching your video on it keep up the good work :)
I would like one what will happen to all these??
It would be nice to see your raw data to see how you're weighting various aspects like hose and price, since my personal shopping assessment might differ from your weighting process
Any idea what the difference is between BJ’s sold Shark CarpetXpert model ex204 vs the ex201 in this video? They look identical and right now it’s for sale at $200.
Thanks for the videos! Can you recommend a non scented cleaner for carpet cleaners and also dog friendly. Thank you!
Nice! So glad you are happy with it!
thank you for giving me hours of my life back.
