- FIGHT OD!
_______________________________________________________________
-There's a few requirements to fighting OD. First, you need to have finished the game; you need to start from a COMPLETE SAVE. Next, you need AT LEAST 99% of the map discovered. If it's 98%, this won't work.
-Once those requirements are met, actually fighting him is pretty straight forward. When you return to OD in the LIVRE EX MACHINA you'll notice that he has a new book, the TOME OF CONQUEST. That's the one you need to check out. Remember, this book won't appear unless you've got 99 map completion and have beaten the last boss. So check out the TOME OF CONQUEST, and head to the GLACIAL TOMB.
-You've probably noticed a room to the LEFT of the fast travel point that looks like a boss arena, and yeah, now that you've got the TOME OF CONQUEST, there's boss doors on it now. This is where you fight OD.
-Beat him up, he's pretty aggressive, but he's the final fight so just go all out. Having a lot of healing items helps, because his TIME STOP power is pretty much unavoidable. You're gonna take damage in this fight, so just be prepared to heal. Thankfully, he doesn't have THAT MUCH health, so he can be beaten.
-When defeated, he gives you the STANDSTILL shard, which is pretty much just the stopwatch from previous castlevania games, just a whole lot better.
-There's one final bonus you get for beating him; return to OD's room in the LIVRE EX MACHINA and he'll let you check out every book in his collection at once! - Ігри
O.D should be playable character just so we all can play as alucard again
I second the fuck outta this, hell yeah
You’ve got my vote
I agree
Me 5
HOLY FUCK YES
A time stopping vampire...
A little on the nose, don't you think?
ze worldo.... muh ha ha ha.....
Well, O.D. spelled backwards is D.O., so only fitting
@@UltimateAnimeGamer This man cracked the code
@@UltimateAnimeGamer you thought alucard?
Wrong! it was me all along!
So we’re just going to glance over the fact that O.D.’s Japanese voice actor *is* Dio
Koji Igarashi are really a big fan of jojo's
So Sakuya is.
Igarashi: yes i AM!!!
considering there is stone mask (part 1 jojo) and stop time (part 3 jojo). i wondered what other jojo references left.
@@ZzVinniezZ what about Miriam's pose if you hold up?
@@ZzVinniezZ The Gambler's Ring that bestows it's wearer with luck and pluck
Of COURSE he stops time! Say OD backwards!
It was the first thing he did when I fought him, and I howled into my hands for not realizing it sooner.
Kono DO da! lol
Holy shit, is that a motherfucking Jojo reference?
IS THAT A MOTHERFUCKING JOJO'S REFERENCE?
@@adriannoroshiark130 Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes!
NANI!?!?
OD: Maybe if I become a playable character, I can finally take back my books!
considering he is bsaically alucard, its possible.
They should make an "O.D. Mode" where you play as him, and have to fight Miriam in that chamber to get your books back.
I would totally be down for that.
Now THAT is a reward for beating a super boss. All games should be like this!
correct, instead of giving you nothing, a simple vanity item (either just a equippable or just a thing on your save counts) or just something very boring
I used inferno breath( the tower boss shard) with a fire ring, and I killed every boss after in less than 3 seconds. I had to fight without it just to make the game fun again.
Soooooooo if Bloodless too is a vampire, then in theory, that means she too survived but chose to hightail it outta there so that way Miriam doesn't kick her ass again.
Could totally Imagine Bloodless and Todd opening up a beauty shop together in France.
They actually stated that she didn't make sense as a vampire, as vampires drink blood, not bask in it. She was most likely another demon.
She's more demon then vampire. All her spells just happen to use blood
@Eric Downing
Who said vampires need to only swallow blood to feed? Bloodless could take in blood through her skin.
Bloodless technically survived, but took time to reconstitute herself. She's strong, but not as strong as OD. She's now a playable character actually.
you dont need to beat the game to figh O.D, just 99% and reache to the final boss
You said it. I lost to the final boss on my first 2 fights so before beating him(!), I went back to grind some more. And just when I was ready to fight the final boss, he showed up in that room. I was shocked, never knew I would fight him. So strong too
Confirmed,i just beat him before beating the game
Yeah I fought him before the final boss too. He whooped my ass but then I whooped his ass and got his medal.
@@oguzhangungor9117 ill try get his medal on ng+ hard mode, why? Cause im doof
Yeah I can confirm this. I beat him before beating the final boss. Used his books to skunk the ninja too for the accelerator shard.
Actually, O.D. does not only show up POST game. He actually showed up in my 1st playthrough, and was in the way of the final boss, Dominique/Bael in the Glacial Tomb.
He'll show up simply by Completing 99% of the map, and having the Tome of Conquest equipped. I chose the Tome of Conquest because it has 3 perks combined, with quicker movement & quicker attacks combined being 2 of them.
chose it for the 3 perks also. then got my ass handed to me for 2 fights.
Yeah, all you need to fight him is at least 99.0 map completion and take out the conquest book.
For me it was luck and strength
"PILLAGE MY SHELVES AS YOU PLEASE!" You know the voice directory was thinking "Hell yes!" when that line was uttered.
I want another game with O.D as the main character ;) ! That would be awesome! He rocks in this game!
Actually found this by accident on my first run. Had gone back to explore and grind before fighting final boss, picked up the Tome of Conquest, and got curb stomped on my way back to the boss. XD
*Max out the directional shield. It's very useful in fighting OD. Guard constanly.
*Use invert and fight from ceiling
*Use Infernal Breath, blood steal and words of wisdom shards.
At least this is how I did it.
Yup! Directional shield is the best one XD. I keep forgetting the name so i call it the Red Shield Grinder XD.
well I ended up using eternal blue, teps salrenda, stand still, directional shield and optimize and a shit load of healing items this fucker's hard in nightmare so much god damn health.
Invert breaks almost all the boss fights, or at least makes them significantly easier.
it does make a majority of them easier, but also makes a few very annoying to fight against.
I also suggest getting rhava bural (four of them are needed to craft the weapon I used) and make sure that you have everything you need to craft rhava velar. I literally just got done with fighting OD and I shredded his health. Granted, I brought a lot of ex potions (you can only bring three, and I used all three of them) and other potions (I didn't even use any of my other potions honestly) but with the attack speed of the rhava velar, you will definitely shred through his health in no time. It's base attack isn't really that good, but it's attack speed is insane. Arguably the best weapon in the game.
O.D backwards
Is D.O
And when he stops time he throws a bunch of ice shards at you like knives
TOTALLY DIO
you know, that never clicked to me, you right
"Pillage my shelf please." said a thousand-year-old vampire who wears a fool's mask sexually XD.
In the JP version of Symphony of the Night (and included in updated re-releases in PSP/PS4), there's a version of the Devil Familiar that is wearing the 'nose glasses'.
He is there in the ps1 version too
And it's not just the nose glasses, it's an entire face
Completion of game is not required to have access to his special book. All you need is the 99% percent map completion for this.
This fight is a nightmare in Hard/Nightmare mode. Not only does he have all his attacks from his normal mode fight, but he also throws a homing projectile at the end of his Standstill attack, and has elemental sword swipes that create homing ice projectiles or delayed explosions. Not to mention that you have very few invincibility frames in this fight to begin with. If you're not in a good position when he Za Warudo's you, you _will_ die in one attack. Each of those ice spikes does 250+ damage, and his homing sword does the same. The *ONLY* way to avoid everything in that attack is to use Dimension Shift the moment he unfreezes time.
You get Renée pistol, optimiser, two traveler rings, etc, upgrade the shards and you blast his ass I dealt 500 dmg for each hit lol in hard mode, in nightmare it is probably a real nightmare but I want to experiment chaos difficulty to increase the challenge.
37 hours played and I missed so many items, shards, I will reach obviously 50 hrs to complete the game
Directional shield, recycle hat, a good gun, diamond bullets, accelerator shard = gold medal on hard and nightmare.
You don't have to take damage during Dio's Za Warudo.
Directional Shield and Guardian Beast can still be used.
Thank for saying HOW you get to the fight, nobody mentions the book you need to take, or that you need to unlock 99% of the map to make it appear.
Maybe thats because you actually dont need a specific book and 99%. I had like 80%, carrying 3 books and he appeared to fight me
@@Sinnerimortal you need the last book, and the last book only appears when you get 99%
@@Jose-se9pu Yeah, now I know why I got the last book before 99%. The requirements of the version 1.00 were lower. You could even carry 3 books after a certain point.
But on version 1.02 I had to make 99% on the map to get the book.
that's cause most do it by accident, the book has three perks on it.
Good video. 4 things:
1. You don't have to have previously finished the game to fight him, just 99% will do.
2. You can defend against his stopwatch move by having the directional shield out before it starts (you can easily tell since the attack animation is longer than any other).
3. It's extremely easy to kill him by just spamming attacks with a greatsword (given you maximize damage on your setup).
4. He's weak against light.
Thanks for this guide. I found Tome of Conquest before completing the game. I have 99%+ map discovered. Perhaps this is the only requirement? Actually, I still couldn't beat the last boss lololol so just grinding around and speed running for fun :)
HAHAHA now I can have all books before I beat the final boss!!! NICE!
Why does OD have a Waluigi nose? XD
Damn just fought him
Spoiler
OD IS NO JOKE
Stop time...check
Attacks with 'knives' in said stopped time...check
Name backwards is...yeah check
Yare yare daze. I suppose it WAS unavoidable.
Lol. I suspected this room. It was weird indeed. I played the shit out of this game and missed this. Thx
OD doing Za Warudo with those knife like attacks. Nice.
Alucard spelled backwards is Dracula
O.D. spelled backwards is.. Err... Pretty sure you now know.
@@ArugalTheChaos OMG. ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS ???
I went into this fight with almost 400 attack. I was hitting for like 200+ a hit lol. I used the Gram line of weapons for a good majority of the game. Durandal is pretty damn strong.
And isn't the final form of that line of swords.
It was also pretty strong in Dawn of Sorrow as well.
Durandal is best sword. For me at least :)
Use the shield shard instead of true arrows for this fight to beat the stop ability if you have it but true arrow was my fav shard
Og = original gangsta but OD = original Dracula
Pizza...pizza is the key. Gives a great deal of healing. Either craft or buy every chance you get. They're like high potions but you can literally carry 99 of them but warning they are expensive to craft
I wonder if there is going to be a dlc or expansion to be able to play as him.... hmmm are you listening Iga san?
21 books slots available I am already overpowered I will be an overlord damn it !
Yellow Passive shards stay permanent if you upgrade them to rank 9, and eating new food will boost stats permanently once. Best food are the drinks.
Getting O.D.'s medal was a pain in the ass but now that I've got it, I'm glad I did.
Just subscribed to you my dude, many thanks for the help
I hope you can cover all the hidden stuff i'll really need it!
ZA WARUDOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
By the by folks, you can dimension shift while time stopped. That way you can retreat into the corner to dodge the ice.
you can avoid the ice spikes during timestop with dimension slip, either teleport away to the spikes or time it when you disappear as the spikes passes
O.D. is a both a reference to castlevania and Jojo. Alucard spells Dracula backwards. And in this game O.D. spells D.O. backwards or otherwise pronounced as "Dio" another time manipulating vampire.
If you equip the red shield shard you can block the the ice shard when he pauses time. It makes the fight a little easier
It makes sense this particular stop watch ability references The World from JoJo. Japan loves three things. Kaiju Fights(of any kind) Dragon Ball and JoJo not in any particular order lol. Though able to take any book after his boss fight is a nice reward
Jojo (phantom blood, specificaly) and castlevania have been taking inspiration from each other since the 80s.
Level up your dimensional transport shard which gives you increasingly longer invulnerability upon teleporting. If you are on the ground when he freezes time, you can aim it and fire it off when it expires and avoid all damage.
for the fight your directional shard, a better choice would be either the shield (it can also block the flame waves from the 8-bit overlord) or the 8-bit fireball (at rank 9 it's like true arrow but stronger unless fire resistance). also a quick use of bloodless's shard for some quick healing (sucking blood from a bloodsucker)
Use the Directed Shield when you see the motion he is going to do time stop. There is a moment he cover himself with cape, and that's the pre-move motion.
BEST TUTORIAL EVER!!!!!
OMG awesome i love this game!!!!!!!!!
Wow... time-stop ability is given after beaten him. I am wondering there is another expansion or DLC map coming soon.
There's actually a tell when he's gonna do the Time Stopper attack. There's a particular pose he does each time he'll do it. It's hard to see at first but once you know it you can always run to the corner and duck before he does it.
This so FLARP it makes blarp look like onions
Can I fight him multiple times without having to start game over again. Just wondering want to use this own timestanding ability against him...
And the fact it's a really badass boss fight.
Glad to hear the VA of Alucard again. i mean David Hayter is also in that game, tgat means almost all those popular VA take refuge
Please, if you can get the trophy out of all the items, could you show it, please know what is to be achieved please? if they are only weapons and equipment or it is EVERYTHING, I'm about to get the final, I'm already in the ice part but I am one of those who play and investigate EVERYTHING, I already have the map to 97 % and I'm just getting to the area of OD I still need that last piece of map, and I have the 90 % the bestiary and the fragments
You can also get his glasses and an achievement if you use jump to hit his butt couple of times
I saw a guide that suggested using Invert, and fighting him from the ceiling. That worked pretty well for me.
Alternatively: make a good rapier, get as much food buffs as possible (I had all of them), and max out rank and grade for Welcome Company. Then spam attack just out of range of his sword and you'll end up staggering him so much that the only real time you have to dodge anything is if he uses ZA WARUDO. If your health is good enough, you can just facetank it and chug a pot, then continue spamming.
I didn't have to beat the game to fight him, got unlocked after I beat Gremory, found the save point before dominique, went back to unlock as much of the map as aI could now that I had as many abilities as I could get, went back to see if he had any new books befor the final boss. He actually blinsided me, took me half an hour to get all the money to buy potions to fight the final boss, but used them all up on him and had to restock up on items again. But definetly fought him before I beat the game.
I love how the capes star field is a refernce to the many capes Alucard wears in SotN.
Lastly this game takes place in 18 century england, in the same century, Harmony od DIssonance, Rondo of Blood, and SotN, so to I like to think after the destruction of the Hellhound, O.D. fled to Transylvania, found refuge in Dracula's Castle, his appearance withered because the Hellhound was his main source of power and was only known as the Master Librarian for the rest of his existence,
The tone of his voice as he "welcomes" you to pillage his shelves, carries a modicum of wrath if you listen close.
thank you
You only need to beat the second to last boss and check out the book from him in order to fight him, this isn’t a patch dependency.
We can def the time stop with directed shield it will guard it and with rhava vular and welcome company you can just stay in front and just hit better duck and attack too
DIO uses 「THE WORLD」
A tip I have is use beast guard it can even be used while stopped so I'll pervert some damage, also blood drain is great as since he has a lot of ho so more damage u do means more heal, u can tell if it'll heal a lot if the background has a lot of blood
Cool fight
How is it a "post game" boss if you can fight him without ever finishing the game?
What level should you be to take this guy on? Because i have some of the best gear and he shreds my HP.
Just stack up with Magic refillers and use beast guard.
You can completely block the time stop attack with the shield shard. Makes that attack a complete joke. You just have to have it going before he stops time. He telegraphs the attack in advance so it’s not that hard to do. 💪
please help me. How do I escape from the final boss's room? Because I can't leave unless the game is over and I want to keep that part of the map uncovered, I already tried to use the magic stone to transport me back to the village but it doesn't work
Get the directional shard from those sheild guys to block his projectiles as soon as his time stop drops or abuse invulnerability from double jump/invert, you can charge at his grab when it first starts to 'dodge' it by taking contact damage and going through him if its too close, and he is weak to light so id recommend using Gae Assail (pretty easy to craft) with the spear expertise shard i also use the shadow tracer shard on all bosses for more damage (at rank 9 you have 4 shadows, easily adds 80-240 per hit depending on the enemy for very little mana but you gotta get used to postioning them)
I also suggest getting rhava bural (four of them are needed to craft the weapon I used) and make sure that you have everything you need to craft rhava velar.
Time stop with gebel's glasses pretty much makes you Goddess
O.D. actually stands for "Obviously Dio" #changemymind
Also, Directed Shield will body anything he throws at you.
I've beaten the game and killed the rest of the optional bosses. You could say O.D.'s...The Last In Line.
The dude is literally dio the librarian
You can stop the time stop actually if you have the red shield grind shard. You will actually have enough time to bring out the shield after the time stop is over to block everything 100% of the time.
What do you mean by post game boss fight...? I got to fight OD before the final boss and he game me the Standstill shard that help me to destroy the three demons at the end of the game.
Use invert and stay in the corner. Attack OD when he is above you with a greatsword. Directional Shield will be your BEST FRIEND in this fight but make sure it is MAXED before you fight OD. Use it whenever he uses fire, jumps at you with his sword or uses his bat attack. Done.
he has 10000 hp(which the final boss has around 4000)and you said "he doesn't take that many hits"
Bad feels man I don't wanna break his spirit.
I have 94.20% and he had the book for me. Also, just beat him and got all his books before defeating the final boss.
I believe it's actually supposed to be at least 90% of the map completed. Don't quote me though 😂😂
few notes: The standstill doesn't work vs the carpenter...And if you use it vs secret demon n.44 aka kunekune you still could die...
You can still use dimension shift to avoid the ice shards at the right time. Try to disappear in between them.
If anyone is still playing this, You can fight OD on your first playthrough! You don’t have to beat the game first. Because it’s not the last boss you have to beat. It’s Gremory the boss in glacial tomb is who you have to beat. Everything else he mentioned is correct in fighting him.
You know all those "READ" posters they had in the school library with someone like Kobe Bryant or Magic Johnson holding a book and smiling at the camera? Someone needs to make one of those with O.D.
Or an anti-drug poster that says "This is how I O.D."
3:03 Za warudooo!!!
How do i get the ex potion here? can't seem to buy that.
Something to take note of. After you beat OD you can check out all his books at once
odd....I was going to fight the final boss for the first time after achiving 99.50% map annnd he showed up and i wasn't prepared...so idk if you actually have to have completed the game unless getting a game over on Gerald counts
O.D drops that nouse of waluigi, hit him under the chair some times
You can use the shield shard to stop the icecles that he shoot after time stop.
It's possible to cheese him hard with Buer familiar and Welcome Company. He stops for a few frames each time he gets hit so rapid hits will slow him down and let you get free hits.
Can you fight OD again, or is it once per game?
Does anyone know what to do with the picture frame with the eye following you at cecht cathedral?
Nothing. I think it's just there to weird you out.
I accidentally ran in to OD while trying to go get orichalcum. I did not beat the game yet. I didnt even know he was a boss
You can dodge the blades by using the shard you get from beating Gremory. Aim for the top of the screen while you're frozen, and activate when "The World"'s effect ends.
I honestly never utilized Invert or Shift as much as I should have. It trivializes a lot of stuff. The gambler boss is incredibly easy as an inverted bunny.
If you have the anti spike armor. Otherwise...
@@ezekielbaskerville2710 unless you got rid of it, you should have it as it's one of the easiest and safest ways to get to the oriental sorcery lab.
I used direct shield for his stop time attack, you can see when he is going to use this.
Was going to say that you don't need to beat the final boss to fight OD; just having 99% map completion & having the book of conquest equipped is enough; but enough beat me to it.
So instead I'll say this, if you're still having trouble with OD - Rava Velar is broken af. Turns any enemy (bosses included) into a cakewalk.
Bruh, I've been commenting that the rhava velar is insane and highly recommended. Just because it's attack base is low doesn't mean it's horrible; it definitely makes up for it in it's god damn attack speed.
Late reply, but totally doesn't work on hard and nightmare difficulty. He just OHKs you with point blank homing ice-shards (more than enough damage, since he launches 8 and each shard does around 300 damage).
No worries & yeah, hard and nightmare difficulties require more investment; making a point of perma-buffing your stats with eating all foods at least once, and maxing out your yellow shards is enough to make it still hold in hard mode
But nightmare... oof... nightmare you need a lot of practice & skill to get through
@@nagatsuseiken7731 Nightmare is mostly tedious, since you don't level up. Gotta have pretty fast reactions and be able to recognize EVERY attack and know the response to it. The bragging rights are just not worth it. Hard difficulty is interesting, but Nightmare... for some, perhaps.
Thanks for this. This game is a masterpiece. I have to admit though I thought it was funny when I first saw OD, I laughed so hard knowing that it was Alucard, can't iga get sued for using so many references to castlevania but just changing the name?
They can't prove it, so... all good ;)
whats the glowing light on your face ive seen other people with it what is it from
It's the Words of Wisdom shard. It reduces MP consumption, and has an occasional 0 MP cost when you rank it up. Hope that helped
I found the True Shot (built up of course) is pretty effective on bosses. If all the arrows hit, it takes a lot off. Maybe you should try that.
Fun fact
You can dimension shift on time stop to avoid the ice spikes and a well timed dimension shift evades all the spikes.
Why you ask?
Well you see, with dimension shift Miriam is capable of moving on an artificial time that she made, make her move, then delete the time and leave only the result of the actions she made during that artificial time and with the enemy not knowing where or what she did during that time.
Yes, this is a reference.
The dimension shift evade is true tho.
Rhava Velar and Dullahan heads/book make quick out of any boss.
Any news on what the Celeste room is supposed to be?
As confessionary in SOTN, only aestetical
It has something to do with reviving Aeris. :P
Jokes aside, I'm pretty sure the consensus is that it doesn't do anything.
